I have the same thing several 5 car sets, a few separate units. But, like I mentioned in another thread, it's my railroad so, If I want to run intermodal local with freight, so be it.
Jim, I'll check the HH link. I know Walthers sometimes has them on sale too. It just seems sometimes the small stuff costs as much as the big stuff. Course, I could always get undec and paint them myself. The warehouse across from here sees alot of different container units. Time for the camera.

Well guys, I think I'm off to the races (or in this case, the tracks) to see what the local boys are up to. After that, some lunch, some house work, and then going to pick up the child from daycare (maybe we'll mosey on down to the tracks again and she can watch the choo-choos, since we're only about a block from the tracks and where we watch from is about 10 feet from the beginning of the track balast and tracks themselves), then back home, meet the wife and begin to nightly "argument" over what supper is going to be. Y'all have a good one for now.

I was following the BNSF Thread yesterday. I keep thinking that most of the things we spend time worrying about don't ever happen. BTW, I liked all the Lawyer Jokes. I have several friends in the profession and they are great people and will go out of their way to help almost anyone. That said.... There are less than nice individuals in all professions. My favorite Lawyer story happened a few years back. My lawyer was also the treasurer of my Boy Scout Troop and one day I stopped in to do some financial stuff for the troop with him. His secretary called him and he promptly came down stairs (personal office is on the second floor) to greet me. There is a sign at the bottom of the stairway that says, "Honest Lawyer one flight up!" I mentioned that I really liked the sign and he gave me a long explanation of a friend from our church that painted the sign and gave it to him one Christmas as a present. I looked at and said yep. I like that sign, I've always been fond of Oxymorons. He was not pleased and gave me the look! I turned around and the secretary was howling.......... Luckily we are still friends...
Today is going to be the warm day of the week here in the Finger Lakes. High of 33°F (We're havin' a heat wave..... Tropical Heat Wave.....) and then a low of 5°F which will be close to the high for the rest of the week...... Better get a few more wheelbarrows of wood moved today before the snow starts falling. May get 1 to 3" tonight and another 2" to 4" tonight. Just enough with the 20 MPH winds to keep the driving interesting.

Wife returned from the PO where her Walthers Circus Museum pullman car was waiting. That thing is HUGE, compared to all her LL Circus Cars. Even dwarfs the LL Combined Shows car we're turning into a Diner. More Real Estate being gobbled up by her HO layout.
Had 12 bales delivered today, so need to go put them up. Then a bunch of inside stuff to finish up today, as the carpet goes in Tomorrow...HURRAY! Most exciting part will be moving all our train stuff into there and begin to visualize what to do with it. Will use my door-table to set stuff out on for now. Maybe by next week I can start building some framework.

Uh-oh: MY BAD........I started a thread that I hoped didn't come off like an ADVERTISEMENT for a website I found accidentally, and was all hyped over (the Railpictures one, where people worldwide post their photos of anything to do with trains).
I captured a few of the shots in there, and posted them here, to whet the appetite of anyone who hadn't yet found that site. I made sure I was clear that they were NOT MINE.
It didn't dawn on me, that I may have been fudging on any sort of "copyright" rules...but there must have been a question about that, as I got an email advising that the thread was pulled from the forum.
Oh, well, hopefully it got the message across that such a place exists, to a few in here, before it disappeared.
Okay, yesterday I ate nothing but BAD food, as a couple of my high school buddies came to Palm Springs, so we had several decades of stuff to catch up on, over a "lunch" that went from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and involved tons of fried food and sugary drinks.
SO: I'll have to put in an order, here, for a small plate of GRAVEL, please (which probably STILL contains 15g of sugar, somehow).
I tried without success to explain to my old pals, about the joys of model railroading. I mentioned the Rod Stewart story, and how Steven Spielberg told of his early creativity being spurned on by his love of model trains, at the recent Globes ceremony.
They still looked at me like I was trying to convince them that banging your head on the wall can eventually become pleasant. I guess you either GOT the bug, or you AIN'T.

Stick a throttle in their hand and they will be hooked! Dorothy came down to the layout last night and I had to pry the DCC remote out of her hand 3 hours later, she wanted to "run all of them"! And I have a honey do list now; fixt this turnout, fix that hump where the tables join, I need more purple cars...etc...
Ryan-For the next three days I will be leaving for work before 6 and not getting home till 1900. Doesn't leavs any time for 'puker. Wonder how many pages I'll fall behind?

And here comes the snow!!!!! Started of small, and now here comes the big flakes. They are just calling for a coating to a inch.
I have been working on a warehouse, and my propane tanks. I was trying to take a picture of the warehouse area, but that is the only part of the layout that doesn't have a backdrop. I will have to work on it this week. So, the picture didn't look good at all.
Heres a few pictures of my propane tanks. The look WAY better than the shots. I was going to put one near the warehouse, and the other one, maybe near the cement plant.
Heres those shots. You know I can't keep something "clean" on my layout.

Lee, Roggie; Let me say that I tried that trick on a couple of Audrey's friends when they were over to see the layout being put together for a disabled child not too far away from here---all I did was have them do a few things in a yard we just finished up and a couple of hours later they were haranguing their spouses about these neat engines and such---now we got two families all excited about getting stuff!!
Robby, your propane tank(s) looks great. The rust really sets it off. Looks like some of the retail tanks around here which dutifully get a new coat of white paint once a year. Rust and all gets covered and a new company label slapped on top!
And, to Roggi. If it's the one I think it was, I didn't think it was advertising. Wasn't it just a suggestion to a link? I saw a post in reference to 4-legged critter control that was pure advertising!
Thanks Eric. I hate the pictures thou. You can't see any good details to it. The upper part of the tanks, have various rust colors.
What happened was I didn't put enough light on them. I used that set up for eBay. I liked having the white background. Showed more detail. I will have to get a better shot this week, and put it back on. Maybe tonight.

I have a storm I'll be sending your way soon. 45 mph winds, almost white out snow conditions, single digit temps. The Captain has ordered us to leave early today due to the weather conditions.
I try to see what everybody has as far as weather wise. Kinda gives me a idea to what to expect. I think the most we have had this winter is about 3 inchs or so. Nothing bad yet.

I got the impression from the email sent me (from a moderator?) that the problem was over how I was reposting someone ELSE's photographs, and not how I was suspiciously hawking another website.
There is no MONEY in having anyone go there to have a look, that I am aware of, so there'd be no reason beyond wanting to share a neat "find" in it, for anyone.
And the reason it didn't dawn on me that I may be infringing on any sort of copyright territory, by REposting photos that others placed where anyone who knows how to right-clik and "save as" can snatch them up onto their own computer, was just that: I just assumed that any photo I pasted in HERE becomes "public domain," and that anyone who does so, has to realize they've given up their right of privacy.
I have noticed that on SOME photos I try to copy, there is a superimposed "trademark" on them...so maybe I'm way off base, and people DO expect to have proprietory rights, even after flinging something willy-nilly onto the internet. (Rather unrealistic expectations, mind you...but I must say I respect how the folks who run THIS website, have it in mind to try to protect others as much as possible.)
As to the aspect of getting others into this hobby, so they'll understand our obsessive behaviour, some of you may remember my posting the results of how my WIFE wanted to try her hand at weathering, and now thinks she's way better at it than I am.
(Maybe that's due to how she's got a "make things clean" obsession, and weathering allows her to "legally" go nuts the other way?)
Well, I'll try not to belabor the issue, but I feel you are in the right. In my opinion, which my not be worth much, is if a pic is posted without a copyright mark it is public domain. When my photo work for a local paper was distributed, it included a mark indicating its origin and that the source was expected to be acknowledged if the pic was republished. If a pic is viewable and a person is concerned about copying there should (may be there is) a way to limit copy access such as chrging for copies. Also, to post pics willy-nilly and expect protection is not responsible and shows ignorance. I'm sure the issue is more complicated than I make it but that is how I feel. Where are those lawyers? (just kidding, really!)
Robbie; you'll enjoy this storm---ooodles of wind and snow---well maybe not as much snow but you'll get wind and COLD!!!----up here we are sitting at -11C heading for a low of -19C and windchills of about -25C or so. We are under a snowsquall warning with approx. 10-15cm of the stuff by late this evening and another batch of snow coming for us tomorrow( up to 20cm--supposedly)--we are a high tomorrow of -13C with more wind and stuff---
Oh well. I'll have a burger plate special with the works and a coffee please---Roggie; some people do tend to be rather antsy about these things anymore but you live with it---I've a sister who is an artist and they get issues about this all the time----but then again she has some pieces stolen from the trunk of her car----and that was with the trunk locked! They took a crowbar to the thing----

My sincerest apologies to all of you south and east of here as there is some mighty cold weather headed your way. It was -36C this morning but at least there wasn't wind. The car was a little stiff but being of Swedish background it does get the heat going quickly. At that temperature with no wind we get exhaust fog in traffic which makes it difficult to see the car in front. There is a wind chill warning of -44C tonight which means exposed flesh can freeze in 5 minutes so BC I hope it improves soon up to the level your getting in London. I lived there 36 years ago and I remember that it did snow a lot and the temps could get down to -15F at night and people there told me that it felt colder than Winnipeg because, you guessed it, " but you have a dry cold". I found that hilarious. My retort was to ask if their ears froze in 5 minutes or less.
Well I did get some ballast glued down last night while watching a programme on PBS about the history of India. It is really a great series that certainly puts a whole new perspective for me on that country.

Anyone know if putting Tyvec (really good house wrap material) on top of a cement slab before carpet pad goes down would be a good idea or not? I have plenty of Tyvec left and thought it might add a vapor barrier. Anyone have any experience with or thoughts on this?

As, guaranteed, no new updates. Band exam Friday- the most annoying phrase in the world is going through my head a million times a second, and I can't get it out. All six other exams are next week. However, we get Monday off, which I'll probably spend studying anyway, and we get next Friday, since that's make-ups. So basically, three day week next week. And just because our school is weird, we're running a Friday lab schedule tomorrow, and a Wednesday non-lab schedule on Friday(real world).

I've just been lurking some here lately. Thought I'd stop in and say HI! instead of just peeking in the windows.
Had too many repair bills at Christmas time so never got to build my new under-the-tree layout due to no money for it. That kind of took the wind out of my sails, the j and o out of my joy, and the excitement out of my train adventures. So I have just been lurking and somewhat envious. I do have some kits I could do, but as I said the wind was out of my sails.
Yes, its gonna git cold here too, maw! And 3 inches of snow and a foot, we should be so lucky. We've had more than that this year so far. Not humungo amounts but more than that. Seems we have to shovel fairly frequently. Most annoying is those 2 inch, 3 inch, maybe even 4 inch snow fall amounts. Enough to have to shovel and deal with messy roads, but not enough to make it worth one's while to fool with. Glad I'm not in some areas of the country though. No place is paradise, alas.
I hope the new fangled digital indoor/outdoor thermometer reads negative numbers well so I can know just how cold it really is out there while I enjoy my cozy 65-67* inside! AND that the new heat tape on the pipes works magic.
Well, it's been nice seeing everyone again, maybe I should stop in more often now.

Had to go into the city today to get W-2’s for the church and I took the opportunity to stop by my FLHS,(that’s FavoriteLHS) to pick up a few necessities for when I hibernate Thursday and what sounds like Friday morn at least. Sounds like it’s gonna be Canada cold here around the zero F mark to below 0F. Soooo it’s basement dwelling time. Darn.
