Tall glass of cool lemon water, please & thanks.

***Jeffrey, is that set going to remain Union Pacific or be heading for the painters shop?

Very tired tonight. If I may, it was a "Ray kind of day".

Anyone here ever added coffee to a base stock to slow cook beef stew in? Was suggested to my wife by someone at a local store. Said it tenderized the meat and cooked off leaving no coffee flavor.

Healing thoughts to those in need.

Good evening, Zoe - sheesh, four pages in one day? I'll be tripping over my fingers tryin' to catch up with what everybody's been posting...Tongue I'll have a cup of decaf for now, please. Earlier tonight at church was their annual Wild Game Feast (buffalo, wild boar, plus beef stew, rolls some killer size ribs (I didn't ask what they were from Whistling). I'm stuffed, and I don't mean by a taxidermist, either. Wow!! They had a game identifying slide show, and had eight volunteers come up to identify 8 kinds of meat (which were from lion, rattlesnake, wild boar, raccoon, bison, elk, squirrel, deer, and... I forgot, but there were 12 kinds of game that they had to pick from for identifying). And no, they wouldn't let them say it "tasted like chicken."Laugh

It was somewhat warmer today, but will reach the 40's (F) tomorrow, so more will really be melting then. Yeah!!Thumbs Up The roads were better today (even with the ice potholes in a lot of places), and I could get into (and out of) my apartment building's parking lot okay today and tonight. Still lots of people south and southwest from us without power.

Spent about two hours over 'lunch' getting the car inspected, running by the post office (for a copy of my insurance coverage that my agent mailed to me), then over an hour in line at the license bureau for car plates. Ah, such fun! Smile,Wink, & Grin (Memo to self, next year, go to the other bureau office - 20 miles down the road - and start earlier in the month!) I'd been waiting for my renewal notice to arrive, but they didn't get it to me, for whatever reason. Guess I should quit about that for now...SoapBox...

Unca Rog, I've had some orders that I'd bet used that same shipper! Since I know little about the other people in my apartment building (and don't trust some of the neighborhood kids), I have my packages shipped to my w**k unless they're coming USPS. Of course, i've found that the USPS tracking system doesn't update but once every quarter of the year... (just joshin' ya there...) "It'll get there when it gets there" must be the USPS motto now, I'm guessing.

Jeff, it sounds like your card got some serious heat. Wow!! I see that you've had your camera guy up in the Goodyear blimp, huh? That sounded like a 'shocking' experience at your Dad's place. Good thing you weren't holding tightly to things...

I just got conformation from OfficeMax that my new Nikon Coolpix L18 camera was picked up by UPS yesterday and was last seen leaving Chicago. It should be here Monday.

By way of Austin, then Albany, then Florida...?

Rob, where'd they have those Imex trailers? I have trouble finding them other than whatever's in the Walthers catalog (and I know that's not all the Imex stuff). Those might even work for my layout's era. Hope your wife got to the dentist okay.

Ray - it sounds like you spend part of every day waiting on a phone call, lately. That was something about the driver with the big rig delivering. Probably was good that the lady across the street wasn't home at the time.

MononJim, your tale about putting the young one to bed reminded me of when my daughter was small, and her mother would try to read her to sleep (except that Mom fell asleep, too). I think there was one time when Sarah came down the hall to ask me to continue reading (when her Mom fell asleep before Sarah did).Zzz

From some of the posts, I'd guess a few Diners (and CFO's) might be having a wee bit of cabin fever, eh?Oops But I got some of that earlier this week - which was why I ended up hanging up my car that day on the snowbank...Whistling Of course, some of you have furry mobile noisemakers to keep you entertained, too. Smile,Wink, & Grin

Luke, that's a great snow train video - thanks for posting the link!

Sign - Welcome to the Diner, Trainman Sam! Have a cup of your favorite bev. on me.Yeah!!

PC, will be praying for your meeting with the friend. And just for safety's sake, don't go snorting that black plague, okay? ShockSmile,Wink, & Grin I think you deserve a gold star for sharing your pie with Trainman Sam. That was very nice of you. Bow

Terry, way to go on helping those cockers out with their (uh...) 'personal hygiene.'Thumbs Up I think the earliest dog I recall having was a black cocker spaniel when we lived in Beatrice (not sure if that was in Iowa or Nebraska, but one of those states). I still have some pics - I'll have to find them and post 'em for those of you needing assistance controlling any pests around your house.Wink

Paul, sorry to hear about Mary Ann being in the hospital again. You take good care of her (and make sure she follows the doctor's directions to the letter, too). AngelAngel will continue for both of you.

Sounds like Inch, Tom, Sue and other Diners have been getting some actual progress on your layouts. Thumbs Up Maybe I can get some things done on mine this weekend - at least get back to my Walthers transfer warehouse rebuild...

Well, it's about time for me to leave, since they're vaccuuming the carpet at the Panera's where I'm using their WiFi. I'll finish catching up in the morning from the laundromat. Prayers continue for those in need of healing, heat, or other comfort.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Hello Jim- Well everyone is all tucked up in bed and currently either have fallen asleep or are about too. Hello again, everyone!!!

Zoe, can I have a decaf and a donut?

Thanks for the reminder (after reading the stories you guys have on where your stuff travels through it got me thinking Sooo...  Just got finished checking my Ebay updates, I won two engines that I need for my layout in planning (NH&I RR) (GP-30 and a C30-7!!!), but forgot to get tracking numbers... grr! so no idea where either of them are... should be here wed or thurs if my math is right (crossing fingers!!

Ebay is great, huh!?!  the price I paid for both those engines and shipping is less than I would have paid in LHS for ONE!!!  So I splurged and bought the pc board drop-in DCC Digitrax decoder for my GP30!  (DON'T TELL MY FIANCEE, she'll want some vital portion of my anatomy if she were to fing out.... Ouuuucch!

Now I just have to figure out which sound decoder to get for the GP30 and which Decoder to go with for the C30-7...  Please, any suggestions and reasons as to why it would be the better choice would be greatly welcome!!!

Good night and God bless as you journey through life!!!

Hi folks...its past midnight already, so better keep it to a small decaf, please.

I just logged onto the Walthers site to see what the tracking news is, on my shipment.  It took four days to get from Milwaukee to Chino, California (wherever that is) and two days to make it the to the Palm Springs post office---being close enough that if I stand outside and really holler, they might hear me, there.

It has been sitting there for 48 hours so far.  I wish they'd let me walk over and pick it UP (but I can just IMAGINE the ruckus that'd cause.)  I just hope they aren't forwarding it to my Canadian address, which they were to stop doing in November.  (Sigh...)

I'm going to comment HERE about the Beach Boys song thing that was being discussed on the "she's real fine..." thread, as most of you have been there, anyway, to read it.  The subject is how it may not be TRUE that an incident from 1963 that I was a periphery player in, resulted in Brian Wilson writing the "Fun Fun Fun" song.

A derivitive story from that: I was at a big party, and someone who knew the story, asked me to repeat it to some of the other guests.  One guy threw up his hands, saying it was the tallest tale he'd ever heard.

As it certainly doesn't glorify ME any, I wondered why he was so emotional over hearing the story, and thinking I made it up.  In any event, he was walking by when I was speaking to someone else, later, who asked me how I learned to play drums.  My answer was, "by watching Ringo Starr."

This caused him to go into CONVULSIONS, screaming, "Oh, yeah, NOW this guy claims that Ringo Bloody Starr tutored him on drums!  What a bold faced LIAR!"

What I MEANT was that from the first time I watched the Beatles on the Jack Parr Show (a year before they did Ed Sullivan) I began to mimic everything about how Ringo played, including the bobbleheaded way he grinned as he did so.

People are weird, aren't they?  Makes for an interesting world, though, right?

Morning all. Double order of biscuits and gravy for me.

Sam, there are sound-equipped C30-7s and GP30s. I think that BLI makes sound-equipped C30-7s and P2K makes sound-equipped GP30s. I have one of the GP30s with sound/DCC, and am very pleased with it.

Got some MR stuff done yesterday. Installed beacons on my SD45s (pictures are in the WPF), and got two of my engines set as master locos for speed matching. I'm using the golden loco method so that way I'll be able to run any all of my engines together, just not all at once.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Terry- I know that cats are the animal of choice for many here. But I have a super, SUPER soft spot for dogs. (I have a soft spot for kitties too just not as big. Ah, Ah, Aaaaah Chooooo. If you know what I mean) In fact I have a soft spot for most animals. What you do I have the utmost admiration, Thank you.

No need to thank me

To see a dog go from Death Row in the pound

to walking accross the parking lot with it's tail wagging as it accompanys it's new owner on it's way to a forever home

is all the thanks i need.

Of course it's hard not to fall in love with these guys when you give them the foster care they need while

they are healing from their illnesses

but the tears that come at adoptions when you see them leave are tears of joy

We spend over $60,000 per year on Vet Care and boarding costs and it's all done on faith

and donations from fund raisers. Each time we are broke a small miracle happens a check shows up and we get to continue

Some one up there loves these dogs

Hello and a good frosty morning to all of you--Chloe can I have an egg on a muffin and a coffee to go please---Here we go ---off on a trip around town---gotta go to Forest City Surplus now--BIL needs more camping gear for winter---yeeesh

The above quoted piece by Roggie reminds me of a certain grump I know at work who cannot stand me or this other fellow. If either one of us mentions anything about even one band we even saw--let alone anything else he would have a bird on our heads about it---LOL!!! It got to the point that one time I came in with a photo of Neil Peart and I standing by a bike he had at one time--and the guy just flipped--saying it was digitized--it was all a lie--blah blah blah Screamer---got to the point that the mgr came out and told the guy to basically shut his pie hole---I thought at the time --boy, some people are awfully sensitive about things and such***

Hence a saying I went around with for a few years then---you have the right to self combust---so long as it is not in my houseCombust

Oh-BTW- the tracking we get may have a reason--the packages are hitchhiking. It could explain why some things end up in Gutted Finger ME-then going to Busted Nose OK.

So--everyone---have a wonderful non-combusting day------MischiefWhistling

OK , that picture has made my vision a bit blurry. The older I get the more that kind of stuff touches me.

As long as we are telling stories. Now Jeff obviously knows what he’s doing and a simple accidental misplacing of the finger resulted in his hair raising experience, but let me tell you what happens when someone with a couple less brain cells than required (me) is involved. As one who worked on DC electrical systems with low voltage and for the most part little amps, I have developed, shall we say, a few bad habits which come to haunt at times. A while back a light became inop and after a bulb change the power in the socket was checked with multimeter and nothing. Sooo, it was easier to go to the switch than drop the fixture. Remove the cover plate and decided to pull switch out for easier access. I unscrewed the switch from the box and pulled the switch carefully out. As soon as it cleared the switches on each side…..I grabbed it to clear a bit more. The wife came in to see who I was calling stupid etc. and after relaying the story, I looked into her emotionless face and watched her as she shook her head and left the room. OK voltage there after a more careful testing. Drop the light fixture. Not a big one but I didn’t want it to just hang by the wires so three hands are needed. Not to stray from the manly “I can do this without help” opinion. I proceeded to utilize my left hand as a two function hold the fixture and the test lead tool. Soooo, as I have grown accustomed to doing as a regular way. I “clamped” the test lead between my thumb and the ground wire. Immediately remembering…in AC, black is not ground (something I knew). A voice from the door said calmly, “do you want me to turn off the breaker?” Well, everyone knows you can’t check for voltage with the power off, so no. Again the emotionless faced shaking head disappears down the hall. Bad fixture. Remove fixture to see if I can fix it. Long way to the basement to throw the breaker. “Hon.. “ Nah if I’m careful I can get this off , then go shut off power. I’ve learned. Everything went fine, until I wasn’t satisfied with the distance between the wires. I guess you can figure why the wife asked “do you need any help” though this time she didn’t bother showing up. “Nope, I’m done.” Repairing the fixture and replacement of course went without incident.

Todd, that reminds me of the time when I was 11 and was watching my father work on the house wiring. He decided he'd have a little 'fun' so he grabbed my arm with one hand and grabbed the wires with the other hand for just a second. I went to comb my hair while he nursed a black eye.

Good morning.

It's 35 and clear. The high will be in the high 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

Went to Alexandria yesterday and picked up a couple of things. One was a pack of half section 18" radius curves and the other was a Bachmann locomotive set containing two UP GP40's and a rather cheesy looking offset cupola caboose. I have zero interest in the caboose. I bought the set primarily because of the second loco. It's a dummy unit that I have plans for. The other unit is powered but was built with 6 wheel pickup and 4 wheel drive. After some work last night I rebuilt the powered unit. It's now 8 wheel pickup and 8 wheel drive. My plan for the dummy unit is to weight it by packing modeling clay into it's plastic frame. It will then take it's place behind my two SDP40F's. I don't have any real plans for today so I'll take it as it comes along. I can't do any work on the track to the north engine house until the turnout gets here anyway.

Jeff-Todd; I tell people that nothing wakes a person up faster than becoming a ground for a CX1000A power pentode for a linear amp. I accidentally placed my thumb on the shaft of a screwdriver while flipping a cap off the top of the tube. Boy talk about a wake up call-I still bear an RF burn on my thumb from that...

Morning guys!

A big Chessie mug of Hawaiian Kona Classic Coffee direct from the Kona coast of the Big Island and a ham and egg sandwich.

ROBBY P>

{Quote} Since my layout is a duckunder, the wife and I will go out tomorrow and get a mechanics chair/with wheels, to sit on and roll under.  The wife has bad knees (thanks to softball years), and she has a hard time getting under.  Its on sale for $9.99.  {Quote}

swell idea for the duck under Robby! I dont have a duck under, but thought about getting one to use to work under the layout anyway. Big Lots had em for $9.99, but I waited too long from the time I saw them and got the idea  to get one and they were all gone. Sad  Haven't really looked elsewhere as not really that important for me. I hope your cold is better and you don't share it with me. After having pneumonia and in the hospital this time last year, I don't want a repeat this year.

Jeffrey W.>  I have a Chessie set like that in N scale. Nice little set. If I got in HO, though it'd have to be DCC OnBoard. I couldn't convert it like you can, I'm not the electronic genius you are Bow  The price was not bad either. LOL I like the "Onion Specific" - how old is your nephew?.

PC> prayers for those in need. We almost always have a prayer candle going for those who need it.

Unca Rogie> I cooked dinner for Mary Travers and Paul of Peter, Paul and Mary once does that count? They came into the restaurant where I happened to be a cook and had dinner that was my station's to prepare. A few other "famous peoples", too. If Ringo Starr had taught me drums, maybe I would have been better at in high school than I was!? {I was lousy musically, really}.

I will have easy day today, had dental work yesterday {ouch}. He hit a nerve with his numbing needle {double ouch!} I HATE dental work. I have rather severe TMJ problems, so hard to keep mouth open for the poor dentist. He IS an excellent dentist and patient with me, the patient lol. Maybe play with my lumber storage shed kit. I keep saying that in hopes I get to it sometiem, lol.

Waiting pateintly for spring/summer to get here so I can have a yard sale to help clean out the train room to expand layout a bit. That room is also affectionately known as the "junk room" where everything in the trailer that doesn't have a place already goes. I wish it was a big black hole to swallow things up, but instead it fills up.

Speaking of trains, have a friend who is newly interested in the hobby. So I have shared with him. He has a big old house with a whole large spare bedroom to use for a layout! I am jealous! Maybe I can help him and work/play on his when he gets to it. Not that I'm the font of knowledge here. He is in the "gathering info" stage now. I have told him to pop in here on the site for a wealth of knowledge, but I don't think he has yet set up an account.

Ok, I have wasted enough bandwidth and your time now.

CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIES ALA MODE for everyone!

-G .

Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.

 HO and N Scale.

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Mornin' all!

Gotta get in full cleaning mode today.  We've got almost 100 people invited for the game tomorrow.  Now most probably won't show, but there still should be a good number that make it.  And the house is well kept, my wife does an excellent job of that, but you know how it is.  Ya want it to be real nice and comfortable when folks come over to spend some time, ya know?

So, I've offered up prayers for those in need (Yes, thats you!), and I'm off to go clean things and then shop for snacks and junk!

PC, ...... I think you deserve a gold star for sharing your pie with Trainman Sam. That was very nice of you. Bow

It was an accident.....it won't happen again!  PROMISE!

Ray, maybe I CAN wait to retire!  Holy cow, what a day!

Oh crud! I didn’t get here before Philip came to his senses. And he just walked out of here with the last two pieces of Lemon Meringue Pie!!!

Barry- Another lack of intelligence act I’ve done is while working on an air conditioner window unit, I removed the top and saw two very large capacitors attached. I was not necessary to remove the wiring from other items attached ,so I just flipped the lid over and continued. While attempting to disconnect another wire in the unit I applied a little leverage by bracing the heel of my hand……you guessed it.Banged Head I recall asking the guy in the next bay as he was peeking around his toolbox if I screamed like a girl. He got a big kick out of that.

Galaxy- If we eat all those brownies we’ll all be watching our bandwidth.

Soup or chili and a sandwich at the church today so off to lunch I go.

Mornin all.

So here's a shot of the newly finished scenery:

And progress on the F40PH rebuild:

And progress on the CII Station:

Chloe, I'll take one of those brownies and a RBF. Sorry I can't stay, but we have a game now.

Oh crap... As I was writing this, it seems a boxcar came uncoupled. Next time the train came around, it crashed and derailed.

The turnout I ordered from Bachmann just arrived. That was quick. I also received an 8 MB SM card from a member on another forum. I checked it out already. It works and is good for 10 photos.

Todd,

Don't you know that here in the diner all brownies, cookies, cakes and pies are all fat free, no calorie favorites?

Good Morning Flo - Hey, can I have a late breakfast? Great! - I'll have the waffles special with maple syrup,

plus a glass of Ed's OJ,

and a JR regular in a ATSF mug, please 'n' thank you.

And how are my fellow bandwidth-wasters this afternoon? Smile,Wink, & Grin It seems to be a lively (should I say 'wired'...?) crew of Diners this morning. Flo said she's about worn out with those chocolate chip cookie orders. Dinner

Ray, I'd agree with MadSinger - I had trouble keeping everything in your days straight. No wonder you drink decaf; I'd hate to think of dealing with all those things after 4 or 5 cups of the 'leaded' coffee! Shock

Todd (and anyone else wondering), last email I got from Garry was back on the 25th, and since then, I heard on our local news that in Kentucky they had about 240,000 without power. So he may be 'in the dark' (so to speak, depending on if he has a generator) but otherwise okay, just maybe can't get to the Diner just yet. Would definitely not hurt to keep him and the others in the iced-in areas in your prayers.

Speaking of which, when I got to my usual laundromat this morning, there were a whole lot more vehicles in the lot than usual, and the place was packed! Turns out a few dozen folks from Sikeston and other out-of-power towns south of Cape) had to come up here to do their laundry (guess why...). So laundry has been taking a tad longer than usual, due to having some wait times to get washers and dryers. One of those side issue things we forget about when the power goes out.Oops

Jeff - I like your new locos - Onion Specific colors do look sharp!  And good to hear the shipping company is taking a more direct route (of course, y'know they could go from Mississippi to Albany(NY), then KC, then to you....WhistlingSmile,Wink, & Grin) I guess by now you have that turnout installed and are test-running trains on that stretch of track, right? Wink

Vincent, can you explain the 'golden loco method' - so I can save it in a text file (for when I can afford to and DO get around to going to DCC)? Thanks!

Luke, hope it's a fun time (as well as educational) today on your train tour! Thumbs Up

Sawyer, congrats on the goals (and the win)!

NS Joe, it looks like you've been making progress in several areas (no pun intended, of course). Yeah!!

Think I'll work on my 'late brunch' now...(as he edges toward the seat closest to the door)Whistling

Blessings and prayers,

Good afternoon Diners: It's been clouding up  all day in preparation for some flurries, but nothing major.  I'll have a green tea and a 25 second nuked Lassy Mog please Chloe.

A big to all our new patrons. If you haven't already, please tell us more about your mrr or railfan hopes, plans, triumphs etc.  Hope you enjoy it here.

A somewhat frustrating gremlin hunt last night. I've three Rivarrosi heavywheight coaches. The ATSF St. Croix Pullman and the SF Café-Observation which won't run in reverse through my #5 (Peco short) turnouts in a crossover in the passenger yard. Dramatic lay-on-your-side derail every time guaranteed! So, the third coach is between them, and all is peace.

However, there is one spot on the layout where that 3rd coach itself consistently derails. All other traffic goes through with no problems. It's on a wide curve, but the track gauge shows no abnormalities. Is it the trucks on the coach? One is Kaydee (this is N, so vintage pre split to Micro-Trains), the other Atlas. Both 3 axel. I've a "spare" lightweight smooth side coach with 3 axel Kaydee trucks.  Swap those out for the Atlas. Also take the opportunity to increase the coupler shank length while I'm at it. (The "spare" coach I want to run behind one of my RDCs so I've now equipped it with some 2 axel trucks and it looks much more at home!)

Run the 3rd coach with the Kadees through the spot...should be as good as new, right? Oh how little we know of this particular gremlin. Derail, just as before.  Swap out all wheels for new ones...that should do it...No!

So I park the offending coach behind the station at Danielsburgh (in my TimeSaver) and couple up the newly trucked lightweight to run the train around to the passenger terminal, which it does flawlessly.

"Mention" the problem to Kris who immediately says "Well obviously it must be a balance problem".  So, I'll investigate that, although I've not noticed any marked list to either port or starboard on this coach. May be worth a closer look, and a tweaking of the bolsters. Any ideas? I'm at a loss, and I need that 3rd coach in the train.

When I first started running this car I added some weight in the form of a solder bar wedged in a channel in the underframe, but haven't added more than that up to today. Perhaps it needs to be really heavy?  My probably inaccurate snail mail scale shows it at 25 grams, or a whisker over 1 oz.  So we may have a clue, because at 6 inches, the NMRA RP 20.1 chart shows for N scale it should be ½ oz + (6x 0.15) oz = 1.4 oz.Looks like I need to add some more.

Been there, done that...another solder bar wedged between the seats. Not the answer...yet.  I'll try yet more weight, there's space in the roof. (Good thing the contractors left that coil of solder in the basement when they did the reno back inn 1997!)

I also wondered if the fault was a result of using a long shank coupler on the loco, combined with the extended coupler position on the coach. Turned the loco, which has a shorter coupler in the front. Same result! So it's not just that, either.

Later....Coach now is up to about 2ozs. Still same result...trailing truck (it doesn't matter if the car is turned end for end, to present a different truck) always derails at the same spot on the curve when pulled or pushed Eastbound through the curve. West bound there is no problem pulled or pushed. Turning the loco end for end to use a different length coupler shank makes no difference either.

Now I'm working on the bolsters of that coach. They are sloppy, and the car does tilt a wee bit. So I'm going to make a plastic bolster stabilizer thing to take up the slack a bit. The bolter pin is a machined and chromed screw with two steps Rivarossi used back then. It's for that car, but when fully tightened there is a visible length of shaft (from the smaller diameter of the two-steps) between the car and the truck. I can't achieve the "one truck slightly tight" recommended assembly. I'll let you know if it works.  Who knows, Kris was probably right all along.  We get too soon old, and too late smart!

CapeJim:

It was somewhat warmer today, but will reach the 40's (F) tomorrow, so more will really be melting then.
...That sounds better! So I guess you won't be needing this

Vincent:

I'm using the golden loco method so that way I'll be able to run any all of my engines together, just not all at once.
..and that is? Details please, or a pointer to a site. Thanks.

Barry:

The above quoted piece by Roggie reminds me of a certain grump I know at work who cannot stand me or this other fellow. If either one of us mentions anything about even one band we even saw--let alone anything else he would have a bird on our heads about it---LOL!!! It got to the point that one time I came in with a photo of Neil Peart and I standing by a bike he had at one time--and the guy just flipped--saying it was digitized--it was all a lie--blah blah blah
...I once worked in the York Ice-cream plant in Harriston.  There was a Ukrainian, myself from the UK. And the shift boss was from Harriston.  He had never been outside of S.W Ontario, let alone to another Province!  So, when the Ukrainian and I would talk about anything that had to do with travel, our out-of-province experiences, etc., the sb would flip.  It was fun to wind him up!

Lee: A while back you mentioned, on the subject of seeing small objects in N scale, the need for not only magnification, but lots of light.  Oh yes indeey! Couldn't agree more. I've a small clip on light that I take around the layout and clip to the bottom edge of the facia, or clip to the work bench, where-ever it's needed, which is just about everywhere these days!  So now to seethe trains run I need my distance glasses, and to work at anything I'm reaching for the reading glasses and that light. Isn't life fun?

Sawyer: Great game! I bet you guys feel better about it all now.Thumbs Up

TTFN.

{singing...}  {sort of}  God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay...the Walthers box to Roggie's house, did finally make its way.

So, I will break out the eggnog (well, okay, a glass of 1% milk) and sit on the floor and tear open the package, soon, humming Christmas carols.  (Soon being when my arthritis lets up a bit--if I got down on the floor right now, we'd need a crane to back into the house to get me back up.)

I hate the thought of mail delivery on Saturdays being scrapped, at times like this.

Hi, Folks.  Coming to you from the remote hiterlands of Morris County NJ.  5th richest county in the nation.  The area where Bell Labs invented the transistor, etc.  Why can't I get a signal for my wireless card on my laptop?  There are more cell towers than trees here now.

Oh well, mom's dial up still works, copper lines and all.

Picked up some micro train trucks to convert my grain cars if I ever get backhome!

Dad is in  hospice, Mom back in hospital after 1 week home.  It's going to be a long year...

Looking forward to some chocolate cheese cake soon!

I'll try and check in later, need to use the house phone, only one line

No, that's gonna be a couple of days at least. My doc started me on Avodart for my prostate problem and does it have a punch. I'll have to get used to it first before I go handling any sharp tools.
