Heartland Division CB&Q Good evening .. A pie fight, eh. Der John ... Glad you like that old Bowser Northern Pacific 4-8-4.... My other two Bowsers are a 4-8-2 (lettered ATSF) and a Pennsy 4-4-4-4. The NP model does not have added detail, but the others do have extra details. I was running the Pennsy 4-4-4-4 today. It has two motors and weighs five pounds. It can haul any train I put behind it and go up any grade. It will climb the walls if needed. The prototype 4-4-4-4's were quite something. They could haul 25 heavyweight passenger cars at 100 mph with ease. Amazing machines!

Good morning. It's 41 and clear. The high should be in the upper 60's and it will be partly cloudy. We got half an inch of rain yesterday along with a lot of lightning and thunder. I'd really prefer to get just the rain without the accompanying light and sound show. Yesterday's project was to correct the problem with the lighting (lack thereof) of the Lakeside Shipping scene. It turned out to be a simple broken wire and was quickly repaired. While I was at it I reworked the scene a little. Having two buildings at the back of the scene has always bugged me because it made the area look too crowded. So I removed the tan building and moved the red brick building over into it's place. There's much more room now and it no longer looks like one of the buildings is trying to shove a tractor trailer off the scene. The revised scene can be seen at the bottom of this post. Joy of Christmas Cards
woman walks into the Post Office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards. "What denomination?" asks the clerk. "Oh, good heavens! Have we come to this?" said the woman. "Well, give me 50 Baptist and 50 Catholic and one Methodist."

Lets start off with some hot cocoa, and how about some birthday cake mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Yeah another year and one year closer to 30. Boy it was yesterday when I remeber having my b-days at Putt-Putt golf with my elementary school friends.
Might see what I can do on the layout today. Have to wait for the heat guy around 11.
I finally got my Railbox (intermountain), and see what I can do weather wise. It use to take me about2-3 days to weather a car, but since I only have weekends off and oneday a week..........I am looking at 2 weeks to get it done .
Well they were calling for a coating to a inch for today, well its only 8:30am and we are past the coating. So maybe it will be like 2-4 inches. Don't matter to me I'm off!!!!!
Well everybody have a goodone today.

'Spring' got into a silly pickle overnight when we were asleep and dislodged 3 branches on the tree.
I just heard that Hamilton ON is considering as part of the anti-smoking bylaw one to stop people who live in public housing from smoking in their own apartments or homes. If they get away with this then they will go further.... ...I'll get off my
Not that I smoke, but...
Have a good one .....

Well, I'm just chilling at home. Most of my college teachers said don't come to class today, so I'm not.
I managed to talk my parents into getting me a BN F45 with sound/DCC for christmas. I managed to save up enough train money to get myself one, so I'll have 2 after christmas. Then I'll run an F45, SD45, SD45, F45 set at the MR club
Jeff: I like that one. It kind of looks like something from a computer game I used to play (Simtown)
Robby: Happy B-day
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
PackerJeff: I like that one. It kind of looks like something from a computer game I used to play (Simtown)
I said simtown because in that game, every builing looked like it's product. (burger stand looked like a burger)

Happy Birthday Robby!
Is it just me or did the Insert Smiley icons box get way smaller? <<< rubbing eyes >>>
So I missed the pie fight eh!
Making my Pumpkin Cheesecake tonight in getting ready for the big Turkey Day!
I just about finished up reading the Great Model Railroads 2009 issue and I got a few good "take aways" from this one. I especially liked the idea of making a schematic (pp. 112 - 113) and attaching it to the fascia that Bill and Mary Miller do on their Colorado & Southern Ohio Creek Extension On3 and On2 1/2 layout.
I just started making one of my own using similar techniques that they explained in the article with using Excel spreadsheets. Here is my first attempt for the Asheville Yard area on my PD layout.
Thoughts and prayers to all in need, sickness and recovery!
Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!

Well, as promised, here's some pics of the wife's new toy.
It's got some minor rust bubbles under the paint, but overall it's pretty solid.
The other side looks just as good, except for this (someone hit it yesterday in the parking lot, but they're going to fix it)...........
Not bad for 9 bills, huh?
(And she gets rubber too!)
Looks real good. Old buddy of mine in NC had one. It was red. He had it built up to run 6 secs in the 1/8 mile. He would rattle the whole house each time he came by, and yeah it was street legal.
I know its the wifes, but hey its a great looking car!! Oh, and at least gas has gone down to fuel that beast up.
SilverSpikeIs it just me or did the Insert Smiley icons box get way smaller? <<< rubbing eyes >>>
Yeah, it got smaller. It's about 4.5 x 4.5 inches for me.
Robby P.Oh, and at least gas has gone down to fuel that beast up.
It's still cheaper to run then the van. That van can make mincemeat of a paycheck!
Good morning, Zoe, just a root beer float, please. Thanks! Sorry I missed the pie fight last night, but from the looks of the Diner, PC must've found all the bits and pieces, eh?
Colby, enjoy your trip on the KC135 - I recall when they first started using them. Will you get to take a peek over the boom operator's shoulder? Well, even if you don't, have fun.
Three coats of paint, eh Sawyer? I might even have guessed more than that many would be needed.
PC, can you smell the pumpkin PIE yet? (That'll perk up PC's ears...)
Jeff, I think I've done that kind of troubleshooting at times, until I remember the KISS principle. Then like you said, I find it was something much less complex causing the difficulty.
Looks like we've started one of our [ditto] trees again, for Ryan's pics from the Smokey Mountain RR.
Ray - 19 and 20 pound cats? That might be as big as Tom's Maine Coon cats!
Blowout Cylinder, sounds like some CA would be good for the tree ornaments - unless it was still wet and Spring decided to hop up the tree... But at least that should keep the ornaments on the tree. I hope it's a tree you keep for next year, or you'd have a time of it getting the ornaments off the tree after New Year's.
JR, actually I don't think I've directly mentioned it to my daughter, for some of the reasons you mentioned. I'm glad I have them in the same town now, vs. 2 to 3 hours drive away when she was in college.
Morgan, hang in there, since you'll have some time over Thanksgiving and the long weekend. Maybe you can get some things going on the MRR then.
Gav, since the bags were in the luggage hold, it's good that the airlines didn't have their trained gorilla crew unloading your bags (since I saw that your engines looked to be intact and unscathed...).
sleeper33now theres a shocker!!!!!!!!
And DerJohn, thanks for reminding us that it's Robby's today!
Robby, I wasn't sure how many candles to put on it, and Zoe said there's a fire code if we put too many on our cakes in here. Hope you had a great day! (I intended to bring it in earlier, but (pardon the pun, Garry) it has been a madhouse today at work... (lunch? what lunch?)
DerJohn, thanks for the tips on the roast. I think I've probably broken a few of those in the past, though. But I follow the five-second rule on food, too. That is one impressive crane, there! And will you be able to fit in a LHS trip on the way back from your dentist visit?
It was cold enough (33 F, with wind chill of 26 F) this morning, but I was glad to see that there wasn't frost on the car windshield today. A little bit warmer this afternoon, at least.
RT, I'm guessing that the bosses aren't in to w**k until 7, so they want you to talk to them (rather than someone coming off of night shift, who might be very tired and "forget" to notify them...). Are you taking a 'well' day (and maybe some MRR'ing), or are you down with some cold/flu/other bug?
A couple of our local stores are going to open Friday morning at 4-oh-my-goodness!-a.m. for their sales. Sorry, folks, my clock doesn't have that time on it (that I know of).I plan on sleeping in that day, if at all possible.
Hectic City here today, and I'm ready to head for home. I'd rather not see anyone for a couple of days, but will have to come back in tomorrow to w**k, alas.At least Friday is mine for MRR'ing!
Blessings on your evening,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Aw, doggone it. It weren't me. Do you think Vinnie would let me live if he even thought it was me? Give it a rest, guys. Get a burger or pie and chew on that. lol

well not much happening at mo but will bee interesting later
Jim god man I was bricking it till I could look in the bag If anything was damaged I woulda gone ape!
oh well I'll be at the counter if anybody wants me
Good evening... (didn't Alfred Hitchcock use this line?)... Gents and ladies...
I'll go for a mulled cider and some Punpkin pie please....
Jim; we put this on and left it to dry overnight then put it on the tree. Said tree is a 7 1/2 foot tree we got from Sears a few years ago. It has a diameter of 50" so it doesn't jiggle much when Spring scoots up it...
Phil... just watch the benchracers, They'll be looking to put in HUGE engines next...
Sometimes our Goodwill store amazes me. I just picked up a McIntosh tube amp that still works. Can't find the model number on the back though. And all for 7.29...
