I am not going to post all my roster here, there are around 200 diesels and 2 steam. If you are that interested visit my website for the roster.
The largest group of one model I have is 14 Atlas GP38, all Santa Fe of course.
Next is 13 U23B from Atlas
and 12 GP 35 from Kato.

12 locos total, but only duplicates are 2-F9's and 2 B23-7's.I'm sure there's some duplicate GP-38's in my future though.

I have 5 freight locos I own, none matching. (U23B, SDP35, GP35, C40-8W) plus a few locos I don't own, (Acela Express, GP30, GE 70-tonner, SW7)
If I had more than just money scaped together from random jobs to fund the railroad, my roster might make more sense....(most shortlines wouldn't buy a mix of 4 axles, 6 axles, GEs, EMDs, etc...)

At this point in time I have duplicates of my steam engines.
Smaller steam branchline engines - three or four of each -4-4-0, 4-6-0 and 2-8-0's
Larger Mainline steam engines - 2 of each - 2-8-2, 2-10-2 and 2-6-6-2's
Switch engines I have 2 - 0-6-0's, 2 - 0-8-0 and 2 tank engines -0-6-0
I think that I definitely may have acquired a few more than necessary
This is what I have:
4 GP-60 locos (2 Cotton Belt, 2 to be SP)
5 GP-60M locos (1 SF livery and 1 in the Maersk livery, the others will be painted as SF and 1 as a "what if scheme")
2 GP-60B (will be SF)
3 GP-40X (2 SP and 1 undec older Rail Power Shell)
2 C44-9W (1 SP and the other to be an SP)
2 SD-60M (1 UP and the other to be another UP)
and some odds and ends.

Just over three years into the hobby, I have 12 different engines from five different roads. I like certain engines, so their prototype company is not important to me. I enjoy the Pennsy, NYC, UP, C&O, N&W, and CPR, with the first two being my early major concentrations.
I must admit, it would be very appealing to have three NYC Mikes in the yard at a time, or a couple of the C&O H-8 Allegheny articulated, but I can't really afford to indulge myself that way. Maybe in years to come, but right now I enjoy each engine type when I run it.

Well, not 12, but I do have some brass steam duplicates on my Rio Grande Yuba River Sub--
2 M-64 4-8-4's
2 M-78 3-cylinder 4-8-2's
3 M-75 4-8-2's
2 L-105 4-6-6-4's
2 L-131 2-8-8-2's
3 Missabe M-4 2-8-8-4's
Not incredibly large duplications of each class, but enough to keep me happy

Tom View my layout photos! http://s299.photobucket.com/albums/mm310/TWhite-014/Rio%20Grande%20Yuba%20River%20Sub One can NEVER have too many Articulateds!
I've been hearing about guys who have 16 or so SD 70s ect.... A guy in our club has about 20 brass big boys (he's rich but only models with his $$$$).
I usually stop at 3. I might buy more of the same in the future, I hadn't thought of it, but I am now at the point where I will have 5 SD40s 5 SD45s. 3 GP38s 3GP40s 3 SD70s...ect. I guess I was trying to hit all points of the roster.
I'm starting to think I'm gonna want another 2 or 5 GP38s in a while ect. I model BN, SF and BNSF with a little montana rail link UP ect. mixed in. HO SCALE.
I was just wondering if a lot of you guys have -I don't know say 12 of the same model loco.
