I have had at least 5 PMs for which I have received 'zero' notifications.  Before that (up to about a week ago) they came through normally.

Nope, Jack.  Still trying to figure it out.  We'll keep you posted when there's some news...

Hi Tom

I think I have to add myself to this list. Haven't got a PM in about 2 weeks. I sent Selector 3 this week alone and haven't got any replies.

Thanks.

Greetings everyone!

Jack (jackn2mpu) sent me a PM this evening asking me if I'd update everyone on the e-mail notification situation.  (And, no, I didn't receive an EN so I knew to check. Smile [:)])  Unfortunately, there's no new news to report at this time.

Rest assured, Erik (Bergie) and the folks at Kalmbach have been looking into it.   So far though, they haven't been able to figure out where the problem lies.  I'll let you know if I hear anything more definitive.

Mine's stopped a few days ago too.

Conjecture:Sounds like there's something in the programming relating how long we've been members to how long we get notifications?

I sent myself a couple of PM's and neither of them came through. I guess everybody could check theirs that way.
Is there any other way to check them other than your E-mail inbox?

Loathar, excellent idea.  I just sent myself a PM and an email and neither one was received.

I have not received email from the "notification" feature for almost two months. Is MR working on this problem? It seems rather long for such a glitch to persist. I find it rather annoying and I am very disappointed in MR's seeming inattention to this problem.

Yeah, the silence is deafening.

Supposedly they are; I'll not compromise my source at this time - I'm sure he's around checking posts and such. It's going on what is like 3 weeks now since I started the original thread and I do agree it's taking a bit long to solve this. I wonder if anyone in the other forums, like Garden Railroading or the Trains magazine forums are having this problem?

Edit: Just went over to the Trains magazine forum and it's happening there as well. So it looks like it's Kalmbach-wide. What we really need is an answer from someone higher up the food chain at Kalmbach like Bergie.

It does seem that this could have been or should have been fixed by now.  It makes me wonder if Kalmbach doesn't want it fixed right away...does having the Email notification down minimize the impact of trolls?  It would be nice if someone from Kalmbach would address this issue with the fourm members.

I have email notification from twelve other groups, (not Trains.com) and they all come though very well.

One is a Yahoo email and very seldom is a message put in the "bulk" folder. I check regularly. The two email providers I use have an option to "train" the email service if the message is (not spam). Trains.com is just not working.

I joined 10-30-2006 and i do not remember ever getting a email notification.

Nada, bupkis, nothing here, and nothing in Verizon's spam trap either.

I think Bergie hit the server with his sledgehammer, because the email notifications have finally been knocked loose.

Perhaps to answer a couple of comments above.  Kalmbach does care about the problem.  However, they are a business and they (and their employees) do have "other" responsibilities that take priority sometimes.

On a good note, it does appear that some folks are getting their e-mail notifications now.  One of the user-mods (Ken) just received a whole mess of e-mails this past evening.  I'm still waiting for the "barrage".

In the meantime, hang in there and be patient with the solution, as this doesn't appear to be a quick fix sorta issue - whatever it is.  Thanks.

Thanks for the message. At least some are getting notifications. Still nothing on this end, and nothing in Verizon's spam trap. Oh well. I wonder if it's a regional thing as opposed to an isp thing?
