I am now receiving email notification of the PM's.

It seems these forums have several technical issues within them.
Email notification, or lack there of, being one of them.
Anyone use the "options" button at the lower left of the forum? When I hit the "Mark all read" button, the posts mark themselves "unread" when I return.

Ditto - I got a slew of notifications one day like 10 days ago and then nothing.
I think I've figured out who's in the IT department - Moe, Larry and Curly.

Just got an e-mail notification dated 05-05-2008 on a thread (Space Mouse's "Handlaying Nightmare" thread . It is a thread that I had clicked "Notify" back on Monday 5-05-2008. Although, there are seven additional posts in the thread after the post that I got an e-notice about; but, I did not receive those notices.
Uh... Oh!!! Does this mean that I'm in for an onslaught of notices from all the threads that I had clicked "Notify?" If the e-notices were held in a cache -- maybe someone cleaned it out when they fixed the problem.
Hope this means that the "Notify" feature is now working and that everything is fixed!! Guess we will just wait and see.

Thank you for the "step-by-step" instructions. I found that the spam filter was on but I had never actully set-up the "spam folder." This is done by going to the rules section and "clicking" the "Save spam in the 'SpamDetector' folder" then clicking "OK." It hasn't shown-up yet -- I guess it takes a few minutes for the server to create the folder. I must go back there and create the "rules" and filters for dealing with spam!
Again, thank you.

I don't think I have a separate "spam trap folder" on Verizon's home page or e-mail section and really haven't used or set-up their E-mail section. I use a separate E-mail client which is Eudora Pro. I'll try again to find a "spam trap folder" to see if there are any e-notifications.

The portal upgrade you talk about happened after I started this thread, and I had actually not gotten any email notifications for a few days before I started this thread. I'm on their 3 meg dsl. I check their spam trap folder daily and have nothing in there related to these forums. I wonder if Verizon has anything before the spam folder, that the end user never sees, that stops emails? I've tried talking with their 'tech support' and have gotten nowhere.
I use a web based email provider. The in box and bulk folder (spam) never show anything for Trains.com. I belong to two other mrr forums and the email notifications always show up in the in box.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
no have not received anything from the ones I tried asking. Do I have to try again or will they get them now so late? thank you for your time
slow train Ed
Still not getting any.
Fixed for good? It has been "on again", "off again" the last several months for me.

Seems to be working again! Thanks Kalmbach!
Edit-SWEET!!! When using IE, I was having to type in my SN and password to log in every time. That seems to be fixed now too! Super duper THANKS Kalmbach!I knew it wasn't my computer and IE like a lot of folks suggested.

Thanks for the message. At least some are getting notifications. Still nothing on this end, and nothing in Verizon's spam trap. Oh well. I wonder if it's a regional thing as opposed to an isp thing?
