Good grief guys, let the poor guy go. I've been on a number of forums where the person leaves, with a flourishing good-bye post; only to return. When you get some one with a high post count, it usually means they really enjoy forums so usually they're back.

And the more you respond to the "Good Bye" posts, the more they're encouraged.

So guys, this is the last time I am ever going to ever post in the next ten minutes... and I mean it. Its good bye (until the next time).

You are quite welcome 4884, you earned it. Keep in mind that I don't hand out praise lightly, so you must be doing something right to hear that from me.[:D]

I think the storm has passed, you can come back now Mark

And all ease up at the youth please,
I read some posts on the Under twenty Crowd topic abiout them being harrased at school for being into model railroading and not being able to share their fun in the hobby with ohter youth their age, must be awfull !
We must be FLATTERDED if they share it with us older dudes,
I think the over 20 crowd should keep that in mind, before getting aggrevated about something the under 20 crowd posts
or before flaming one of the younger forum members.

The sun will come out tomorrow.
Dougal,
I am a late comer to the topic ,but went and read that entire posting
that you had a problem with. What occured can not be excused but
an OPNINION was taken out of context and the battle ensued.
You have EVERY RIGHT to defend yourself and/or not post any longer.
PLEASE, may I suggest to take what others on the forums say with a
grain of salt? Our main purpose here is to learn from each other and
to share a common interest. You are young and still learning, don't let
some negative control your decisions when you have an over abundance
of positive help and sincere people who will help and support you in this
hobby. DON'T QUIT.

Everyone,
The last time I posted on this topic, I thought everybody was starting to calm down a little. But now, we are reaching what I call the "critical mass for personal attacks" once more. So everyone, just calm down, and don't make Bergie get involved. And where's Kevin's girlfriend when we need her reason and good sense.

Sincerely,
Daniel

We can't get this kind of input on MR issues that often!

Just disengage guys. Let the steam fall, stop feeding the furnace, throw her over to coast, ease in the brakes, and ride the steel down to the station.

I have seen good forums go through this. The admin will crack down on personal attacks, people will lose interest in the topics and threads that we are here for, and many people will spread bitter feelings about our forum. Time will pass, others will come, the forum will become more helpfull again.

Let's just skip to the more helpfull part.

Why can't you people (and I use the term as loose as it possibly could be used) just let it go. At this point your all just crying out for attention and ganging up on each other. Its not a popularity contest. And I think its pretty ironic that dougal typed this...
QUOTE: What matters is QUALITY NOT QUANITY. ARE YOU OBEYING THIS?? NO. I TRY TO POST WITH QUALITY, WITH DOS THE ONLY EXECPTION. I DON"T LIKE NONSENSE TOPICS AND THIS FORUM IS GOING TO START TO GET AGGRAVATING AND PEOPLE WILL QUIT.

There is not one quality post on any of these topics about you leaving, saying your going to leave, threatening your going to leave, staying, or defending your "position." Practice what you preach. I dont think DOS is the ONLY exception to your posting habits.
And why do you people keep posting here? It just detracts attention from useful posts.
Let this thread just die and float slowly to the next page and so on.[xx(]

Well I did. And what exactly was I supposed to be taking away from it? That some folks can't control their emotions? I'm not trying to pick a fight with you...what I 'm saying is that Bergie and the folks at Trains.com don't have the time to police you. If you can't do it yourself..don't post. Is is your desire to get someone banned from the forums becasue they were mean to you? Grow up......in fact the title of the post I quoted from Bergie was just that ... "Grow Up". The only reason someone should be banned is for misconduct....hurting someone's feelings isn't misconduct........I can't tell you how many times I've written a post..then after rereading it ...before I post it...I change my mind. I have also edited numerous of my posts......and I've even deleted a few..after second thought....

I don't care if you post about nothing to get stars. I don't care if are a rivet counter..just don't count my rivets....The only thing that really bugs me is senseless personal attacks and folks with holier than thou, condescending attitudes....You may have other pet peeves...you can debate facts, not opinions..

You guys are making much ado about nothing....get over it and get on with entertainment...there's plenty of time later in life to be a grumpy old ACL Fan.
