What a prolific bunch we have here!

Phil: Glad to hear your son is going great guns! Nice to hear about the success stories as it's a terrible affliction that to many children have to endure.

Chuck:  At least with all the strife inn your life you are finding the time to keep busy. Sounds like a good project you have going. Hopefully your wife's recovery will be a quick one~ Thoughts and prayers.

Flash: I know all too well what you are going through. Unfortunately it's one day at a time and make the best of the time. hateful I know and yes you scream at the top of your lungs and it seems no one is there. But you'ld be surprised. Take her tame and go easy on yourself, yes easier said then done.

Dick: Thanks!!! Iwas going to stain the deck today... Can't with all the rain you're sending my way. May see TS's today.

JP: hovered in the upper 70's here yesterday... Perfect!  Sorry, I don't envy you in the least That kinda heat would melt me away in no time.

Der John: You must be getting a lot of fog these days. We have it in the morning, it's disapears and comes back again just before Lisa get's home from work.

... Not happy as it's too cool to sit on the deck.

Scott: Wow! Sounds like you are having too much fun there, Can't have that it's work!! Can't have fun and work at the same time. Glad to see you're getting good experience. That's what breakdowns are all about. Though you may want to Shhh on the comments about your co-workers regarding OT on the internet. These things have a habit of getting back to the "wrong ears". Internet has made the world one very small place.

Anyway Guys I have work to do.

Later All

Flashwave....... that's really a sad story. You have me concerned about you and your Dad.... It's okay to blow off steam at times......when you can settle down a bit remember there are believers who will attest that prayers willl be answered no matter how "impossible" a situation appears. .... You're good guy, Flashwave, and I bet your Dad is also....... Is there anything any of us can do to help out? ........ Take care.....

Well, I'm gonna turn this censor on it;s ear. If the posts here tomorrow, I'llf ix it then. But for now, I just need to put it down.

Dad's damned stupid cancer's back. Again. Why the *oops, paint spill* can't life leave us alone. I haven't gottne one decent god-damned time with him, there's always something happening, Always something monetary. We never get to have any time without there being sonmething on our mind. We need to replace the roof. We need to get the *** air conditioner repaired. Both are required for the railroad. We need to clean the *** house that's never had the chance to be formally unpacked because he had to be working to keep the stupid house. And now we're most likely screwed cause Insurance is gonna brand it *Pre-existing condition* *** IT. Your supposed to help us. Why the hell can't we have a normal life? yeah, look at me, worrying at too young.

Thanks guys, that helped. And sorry Big Guy. I hope you understand typical human fallibility.

Evening Gang: Not much here a gain. We started cutting hay today. We got one field down and about 3/4 of the field across the creek before we called it a day. It was after 8:30 and getting dark.

JP: Holly Smoke 124f. We've been bumping around 100f here the last week or so. They humidity is in the 60 to 70 % range so it feels hotter. You take care now.

Rob take care of yourself. I know that tooth pain is bad. Been there several times.

Dick hang in there. Since it's not a new deal to you you know what to expect on the root canel.

I'm beat and my back is acking. Gee is there anyone in here that isn't in pain?

Good evening.....this is the first time on the computer today.....we have had non stop violent TS's all day. The front dies over central New England and one storm after another "trained" along the front heading NNE. My neighbor's house got hit by a ground strike, no damage luckily, the fire trucks were there for over an hour checking the whole house out. On clap of thunder this afternoon was so loud out back it sounded like a howitzer went off out side the bedroom window two feet away. Things have finally settled down until tomorrow's round of storms. 2.18" of rain fell from 9am until 4pm, torrential downpours and hail in some areas.

We were lucky here at the house, we never lost power, many people in town lost Cable and phone lines.

SCOTT: Good to hear from you, happy to see that life is "exciting" on the job !!.

If I am still on the air, we will see you guys at breakfast.

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! It's been an interesting day so far. We had a thunderstorm come through earlier that knocked out the power for only a couple of minutes. Problem was, it also knocked out a couple of cable boosters, so the internet signal for this area was down for hours. Cable TV worked fine but no internet.

***Scott, thoroughly enjoyed reading about your last trip. Hope you have a smooth one tonight.

Tooth is getting worse by the hour. Found some pain meds but they hardly touch it.Dead [xx(]

While I'm here, a coffee refill and a bowl of stew, please & thanks.

Wife & I are working on house contents lists tonight. Lots more work than it sounds like. Just imagine one room of your house and listing everything in it without being able to look and times that by an entire household.

Good Evening All,

Back from Mosport and out to Mid Ohio Weds am - finishing cars in the shop until then. They started demo on the house today so I'll stop by tomorrow to see progress. Nice and sympathetic bunch of guys as well. Did find three storage boxes of t-shirt collection in the attic on last go through behind a pile of burned debris so I have a start on a new collection once I sort through and see what's salvageable.

Good to have you stop by Scott. Sounds like you're working your way nicely up the ladder as well and we'll all be able to say we knew you when. I'll have a coffee to go and see y'all around when I get more than a moment to sit and talk.   CUL, J.R.

Evenin' y'all. Coffee for me please. Just woke up a couple of hours ago.

Boy oh boy was last night fun. Comin' home from Enola we ran into a little problem. 130 loads of coal, 17000 tons, two engines. We came all the way down the Port Road from Enola to Perryville no problems at all. Then bells and whistles start going off in the cab and our D9-40CW displays a "Load Limited, Low Water Pressure" error. Great...We have 30 more miles to go with a limited engine. I had to spend the next hour and a half reseting the computer system so it wouldn't completely die on us. One engine was running in Notch 8 putting out about 1200 amps, and our leader was putting out maybe 250, then would serge and die and be reset...

We made it down Amtrak to Baltimore's Bayview Yard. The yardmaster said that if we thought we could get around the branch to the coal yard we were clear to go. We stormed the hill at 13mph and losing speed...When we hear over the radio "We'll be moving in about two minutes..." The coal train an hour ahead of us was now clearly in our sight and the engineer stopped the train. We would've made it up the hill too...but no, the other engineer felt like getting overtime and started dragging along (very common out here). So we sat there for an hour waiting for the switching crew to come pull us up the hill...

We would've had an early quit if it hadn't been for that...Was quite the night...

And now I'm waiting for my call tonight, I'm first out and wanting to go make my money. Sarah is in France and I can't get a hold of my friend, so I've got nothin' to do.

Later y'all.

Coffee in a Union Pacific mug, please & thanks! (and a side order of novacaine)

Dentist was working in Atlanta today, so didn't even get to see him. Have an appointment for tomorrow, but being a new patient he will not do the extraction(s) same day. As long as I get something for infection and pain, then I won't be tempted to jump in the path of an oncoming train. On a scale of 1 (no pain) to 10 (suicidal thoughts), I'm up from a 5 last night to about a 7 now. Would rather have a broken hand anyday. Heck, would rather nailgun my hand to a board than have this kind of tooth pain. Sure gets bad in a hurry...back into the nerve I guess. OK, finished whining now.Dead [xx(]

Left the pickup to get tires, brakes & oil change. Even the cheapest tires will cost us over $500. Next up will be the wife's car, way overdo for a brake job.

Left Millie (indoor kitty) and Jambo (outdoor cat) for spaying/neutering.

Have a good day all. Cowboy [C):-)] Rob

Hello, everyone:

Hey, it doesn't have to be Friday for clam chowder for me.  I'll do a big bowl of the New England variety, thanks.

Read about George Carlin, answered it on your post.  He'll be missed.

Well, it's supposed to be about 88 today here in Sunny NorCal, but the air has been absolutely foul in the Valley from a big fire over toward the coast in Solano County.  We had a freak series of dry thunderstorms here in the north state that according to the news reports, has set off some 640 fires up and down the north end of the state.  And yet ANOTHER one in Santa Cruz, this one presumably started by some idiot tossing his cigarette out the window.  Yah, dry grass makes for a PERFECT ashtray, duh!  Hey, smokers--the ashtray is in your CAR!!

No progress on the Buttes yesterday, couldn't get out and breathe, but it seems a little better today.  I'll see if I can get anything accomplished.  However, I stood back and looked at them and I'm HALFWAY there!  Yay!  Still got a lot of work to do on what I've installed so far, but that's the messy fun of doing scenery--you can always go back and add, later.

Of course, if my layout were in a basement (in California??) or an attic, I could be puttering away like mad.  It's a real downer sometimes to be restricted in a garage by the air quality outside.  Yuk!

Hope everyone is well.  Terry, how are the radiation treatments coming along?  Hang in there, buddy, we're ALL behind you.

Well, think I'll go outside and see if I can get any work done while it's still a little breezy around here.  Once those Delta Breezes stop, I have a feeling that the smoke from the Solano fire will start creeping in again.  Hoo boy, we're just STARTING Fire Season here in the north state and already it's turning out to be a disaster.

Good Morning, Zoe, Diners. From the sounds of things, this must be the week for dentist trips. Shock [:O] Will be keeping Dick and Rob in mind (and Rob, hope the dentist sees the pained look on your face and works you into whatever's on the schedule today). Hmmm, maybe I should have the oatmeal this morning, since it seems to be popular. Zoe, could I have mine with a bit of brown sugar on it, and with a cup of coffee and a glass of Ed's OJ? Thanks!

George, you have me puzzled on mixing those scales on the same layout, too. How do you arrange them to do that without making the scale difference apparent?

Tom, I'd be inclined (if you'll excuse the pun...Whistling [:-^]) to agree on your getting at least one or two mountain climbers going up the face of the buttes somewhere in there. That'd be a nice touch, but that's just my My 2 cents [2c]...

'Nuther sunny day so far, in the river city of Cape G. - we're supposed to max our flood stage here today, supposedly around 41.5 feet, and then start dropping. Heck, we may have peaked already by this point, since the sites I checked this morning didn't have live updates of the flood stages. The Bootheel of Missouri and some points south of Cape might get rain today (some of those 'scattered showers', as the weatherguessers call 'em).

I'll be at the corner booth, eating my breakfast oatmeal, if anyone else comes in. Hey, Jerry, Lee, save me a spot!

Blessings on your Monday,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

This one has two buttons, one on the lower edge, and then you have to hold the function while pressing F2.  The lower edge button works, but the F2 deal does nothing.  It's going back on lunch hour today.

Rob, hope the tooth gets fixed today!  I have a bad one myself, so I feel your pain!

Good morning, Diners.......

Jim CG said: "Garry, you are tooooo 'punny', my friend!" ....... I get it! ....But if you had waited until SPring, you might have the Easter Punny.

Sounds like George is busy based on the post. I'd be interested in hearing more about how you fit diferent scales together.

Next time any of you Canadians stop by with Tim Hortons coffee, feel free to include Tim Hortons donuts. They would "hit the spot"...............Meanwhile, it's OJ and oatmeal here.

Upon reading below, I beleive Tom W should have at least one 1/87 mountan climber on his buttes......... A replica of Sue with her climbing gear....... uh, oops...oh hi Sue... heh, heh..I hope you have sense of humor...

Good evening......just got back from a vacation up in Maine along the coast, Fergie and John would go nuts if they saw the nice lobsters here on the dining room table. The weather was supposed to be lousy all week, but a small on-shore breeze kept the advancing TS's about 10 miles inland as the colder ocean air knocked the pins out from the thunderheads. We had blue skies all week.

I found a nice little Hobby shop in York just off route 1, and I picked up two B&M locomotives, a switcher and a BL2, and four cars.

I had to add another external HD to my computer, so I decided to get an E-SATA HD. That meant that I needed to add an E-sata card to the PC also. Everything went well with the install until I noticed on the box that they did NOT include the E-Sata cable, only the USB and Firewire cables. So I had to hot-foot it to BestBuy before they closed today at 6......15 minutes to spare and luckily they had the cable.

CHUCK: Sorry to hear about Kathy, prayers for her tonight buddy.

ROB: Looking at the photos of the fire is heartbreaking, I hope your new home is constructed before Fall.

JIM, GARRY, LEE, MIKE: The root canal is necessary, so that will be done this Wednesday at noontime....ohh joy !

Time for bed, see you guys at breakfast,

Tall glass of room temp water, please & thanks.

If I vanish for a couple days, it will mean I had at least one tooth pulled tomorrow, perhaps two. Taking two cats into an animal hospital for "fixin", then leaving the truck to get new tires, then to visit an orthodontist. Don't know if he will do a walk-in or not, but tonight my tooth has begun hurting again. Can't put it off any longer.

Looks like rubble "clean up" will begin Tuesday.

Have a good night all.
