Okay guys I need to request a favor from one or two of you and that is a couple of old model railroading mags for a couple of vets in the VA hospital here in columbia . I've been taking some of my clasic toy trains mags in but a couple have asked for something in the ho or n scale line if I knew anybody willing to give up a couple. Wish I knew somebody here in the columbia area but I don't.

Been a busy day I helped out a nursing staff ( 3rd floor east as one of the patients ) little older gentleman) in a wheel chair wanted to go down the stairs to get tto his car I played road block in front of the door until I could get one of the nurses  there by waving my hands.

Well you all take care youcan email me at lionel027kline@yahoo.com

'Nother in the pipes boss. This'ns headin down rthe line. M<ight remix the rain a bit though, Lot of it all at once. Plenty of wind, and special effects. nothing in the cone variety. The cloud structure is awesome. Get a pic before it it "buckets" on you. Mom and I were running errands, and we were both wishing we had cameras. I hate driving in rain when I have the half a second when the wipers clear the windshield to find out if I;m on a road. LOL. And in the Left lane with no place to get off, if I could see a place to get off onto anyway.

Salmon w/ garlic mashed potatoes & sauteed mushrooms. Will have ain a SOUTHERN mug while I wait. Thanks!

The Bigboy is at the P.O. I left our gates open today but I guess our mail carrier is too lazy to look down the driveway to see if they are closed or not. Just hope it's in good shape and runs smooth right out of the box. Will know by this time tomorrow.

Got the Official OK from the insurance agent about the house check. It will be in the mail by next week. Then comes the series of hoops to jump through with the mortgage company. Wife is handling all that stuff, as she knows more about it than I do. Would sure be nice to get the build underway soon. At least there is progress.

Picked up some nasty hay bales today to spead over some grass seed around the yard. Wife did all the work this time. I yanked the battery & old cables out of the tractor and will pick up new ones next time I'm out and about.

That's it from our neck of the woods.

Healing thoughts to those in need.

And yet, it's sunny in South Carolina. Of course, there's a chance of rain through the weekend (least my brother's b-day party is inside. He's turning 7 and loves the cartoon "Ben 10")

Another big line of storms just went north of us and clobbered the towns in the northeast part of MA and southern ME and NH, 11,000 people out of power in eastern MA near Boston, trees down taking powerlines with them per usual. More storms due right through Monday due to a battle zone between a Canadian High and a warm front from the south stalled over the area. John, Luc and Fergie are enjoying the great weather under the Canadian High pressure system over NS.

You are on charge of making the raw materials.  We make certain "improvements" before we send them to Lee.  He then puts his little "inspected by" sticker on them, leaving Dick to be the final consumer.  It's a pretty good system, though our own R&D department sometimes gets REAL messy when experiments take unexpected twists and turns.

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of that New England Clam Chowder, please, and a RBF for dessert. Thanks!

Jeff, you'd better watch out or we'll have to get you a home nurse (big Hilda, if you're not careful...Shock [:O]) to make sure you stick around for a long while. That's way too low on your blood sugar (and even I know that). Take good care of yourself, or Chloe will ask cousin Vinny to watch you until Hilda arrives...Whistling [:-^]

Tom, I'm with you - the fireworks can be on hold until the forests are put out (and amply soaked with rain, thankyouverymuch!). Have 'em send their favorite charities the check (and save the gas of running by the fireworks stand, to boot), indeed! SoapBox [soapbox]

Aw, Johnboy, don't you want to come on down here and have a little excitement in your life?  I guess you've never had a polar bear decide to move into your home when you were on vacation, huh? Wink [;)]

Good afternoon all, 81F and a dew point of 70F, that is tropical folks! I can see large thunderheads all headed to the east just north of us.

JEFF: Glad to hear your Physical went well, but watch out for that Glucose level, 34 is far too low.

LEE: Sounds like  you ahve some rough weather headed your way today, that front is "suppose" to head south of us here in New England.Shock [:O]

JOHNBOY: Ya, I saw the latest Micro Mark adds, they do indeed have some great buys. Trainworld also has some great buys, check that out too.

TOM: So Arnold is "thinking" about banning Fireworks in CA this 4th?? Hello Arnold, half your state is on fire with over 40 seperate fires, the firefighters are dog tired, many homes are burned, and he is "thinking" of a ban?? Where is that man's head???? This is a no-brainer. I'm happy to see that you have a wind Tom, that should blow the smoke away and relieve your asthma.Thumbs Up [tup]

Well, back to wrok, just stopped by for a cold one and a little break,

Dinner [dinner]

Hi Gang, what's for lunch ??

Chloe, if there is any of that rabbit stew left, I'll have a bowl of it with brown toast and cranberry juice to swish.Thumbs Up [tup]

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in need. And there sure seems to be a lot of them this summer. A person can hardly keep up with it.  Aperson on the radio this morning, who lives about 100 miles east of us said that they had about 4" of rain in 5 minutes last evening. But I find that hard to believe. he probably meant to say 4/100". But anyway that is still quite heavy for 5 minutes. Why can't  California get some of this moisture ?

Jeff: really like the park as you put the finishing touches on it.  Still can't see a way into it for our trailers yet and which side do you want us parking on ?   We are going to have to advertise for a live in Nurse to watch over you and keep those numbers in check and dress that foot (amoung other things).   How would you like that ?   We could even set up a committee to make that choice for you.   We want you around good Buddy, so take care there.

Tom W.  I love visiting northern Cal, it is such a great place to holiday, but I wouldn't want to attempt to live in a place that has fires and earthquake threats and mud slides as a daily happening.  It gets bloody cold here, but at least you know your home is going to be there when you arrive.

Philip, great news on our son's mobility, life wil be much smoother for him now.

Hope all the Dentist visits went well, Those darn teeth, a person has trouble getting them, keeping them and getting rid of them. Sure seems like a lot of hastle.

Have any of you checked the Micro Mark web-site lately ?  They sure have some good buys on some Bachmann Spectrum locos.  I picked up a Great Northern Geep $100.00 off.   Wow!! [wow]

I have always been impressed with there service and response to your calls. And that goes for Bachmann as well.  I had a couple of issues that were taken care of promptly.

Rob, be sure to keep us posted on the rebuiding, sure hope all goes well and that the train room gets expanded.  Your three incidents are now over so things should be clear sailing for you now.

We'll be out to the lake for the week-end if it stops raining, maybe if the wife still wants to go I'll take a kit or two with us in case it ends up being an inside day or two. Also a couple of mags

Prayers and blessings to all.  You guys in the mid west be sure to keep your rubber boots on.

Johnboy out.........

The "Wobbly" is wobbling better than ever.

Morning all from SmokyCal:

I woke up this morning and we have a BREEZE!!  YAY!!  It's not a strong one, but it might lift the smoke a little.  Cracked a window and it didn't smell TOO bad, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.  According to the news, we now have 1,000 fires going here in Northern California, but we're also supposed to get a Low front coming in from Southern California either this afternoon or tomorrow, so there may be a slight chance that we'll get some AIR around here.  Unfortunately, there are thunderstorms creeping up the east side of the Sierra toward Lake Tahoe this afternoon, so unless they're the wet variety, we might be heading back to the same thing we've had since last weekend.  God, I hope not!  The air quality was 192 yesterday, which is "Unhealthy for EVERYONE".

Our Governor is thinking of enforcing a statewide ban on fireworks this Fourth of July.  A lot of charities are making waves about it, since they use fireworks sales to raise money--hey, I'm sorry, but sometimes you just have to BITE THE BULLET and this is one of those times.  My high school has voluntarily cancelled their fireworks booth, so if they can, so can everyone else.  My answer--you've got a charity you support, SEND THEM A CHECK, don't buy their fireworks this year.  Sometimes--and this is one of those times here in SmokyCal--you have to put Reality before Fun.

Mom wants to go home, but I'm trying to convince her that Nevada City is in the same condition that we are, and her house isn't nearly as well sealed as mine--it's an old Victorian, and no matter WHAT you do, they leak!  If the weather stirs up a little, perhaps I'll see about taking her home tomorrow.  Besides, I've run out of musicals for her to watch, LOL!

If the smoke lifts a little, I'll see if I can do some work in the garage today, otherwise it's kitchen-table-project for the MR.  Sure like to finish the Buttes before I die (he said with a sigh).

Jeff:  Watch that blood sugar, buddy.  Does orange juice help?  I've heard both pro and con on it.

Garry:  Sure enjoyed that little tour of your layout--that's some really NICE modeling, my friend!

Well, hoping the Midwest doesn't get clobbered AGAIN today--looking at the weather reports on the Today show, and there's lots of red and yellow around there, again.  Man, Mother Nature is sure on a RAMPAGE this year--all over.

Well, best to all and prayers to those in need.  That breeze is still kicking up a little, think I'll give the garage a try.

Tom

Just got back from the docs office. My physical went just fine, no surprises. I go back for another one in two months. Tuesday I have to go see the foot doc again.

Woke up at 1:30 this morning with a blood sugar level of 34! Talk about getting an early morning snack quick!

Good morning all,

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR LAKE ERIE...NORTH CENTRAL

OHIO...NORTHEAST OHIO...NORTHWEST OHIO AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A SEVERE STORM OR TWO WITH LARGE HAIL OR DAMAGING WIND IS POSSIBLE

THIS AFTERNOON BUT ORGANIZED SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED UNTIL

PERHAPS THIS EVENING OR TONIGHT WHEN A THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX MAY

MOVE ACROSS THE AREA FROM THE WEST.

NOTE THAT MANY AREAS HAVE RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT RAIN IN THE LAST

WEEK. ANY THUNDERSTORM WITH HEAVY RAIN MAY SEE LOCALIZED

FLOODING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

A COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED LATER SATURDAY AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS

ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE FRONT. THERE IS A CHANCE... DEPENDING ON

THE TIMING OF THE FRONT AND OTHER WEATHER CONDITIONS... FOR A

MAJOR OUTBREAK OF SEVERE STORMS ON SATURDAY.

SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND MONDAY AS THE TROUGH ALOFT

DEEPENS AND COLDER AIR ALOFT MOVES IN. THERE IS SOME SIGN THAT A

SURFACE TROUGH OR SECONDARY COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA

LATER SUNDAY AND SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE PASSAGE OF

THE TROUGH. MONDAY WOULD BRING PULSE TYPE THUNDERSTORMS WITH

LOCALIZED LARGE HAIL AND A SLIGHT THREAT OF THUNDERSTORM DOWNBURST

WINDS.
