Mornin, Zoe, could I get 4 chocolate milks, 8 doughnuts n 2 coffee's please. Got five of them today range from 18 down to a 2 year old, plus 2 more coming Fri for a week. It's only 33 more days till school starts.
Been busy and haven't stopped by for a few days, other than just a passing through. Between chores, kids and the hot n humid weather we're having, I'm bout down, mostly though from the heat, just can't handle it well anymore. At least the temps are suppose to improve some
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 1:00PM EDT/12PM CDT FOR ALL OFF THE WABASH VALLEY THIS MORNING.
Rain and thunderstorms will move through today with gusty winds and small hail being the biggest threats. Temperatures will still be hot and humid topping out in the lower 90's this afternoon with the heat index approaching 100°. Scattered rain and thunderstorms continue tonight and into the day tomorrow. Temperatures become a bit more comfortable on Tuesday with the daytime high only warming up into the lower 80's.
Flash,
Good to hear your dad's improving, but sorry to hear of stinky skunks passing.
Dick,
Gardens coming along good, but still no ripe tomatters yet. Hope ya got your tiller going, our tiller down too, but I need it to get it going soon. Got some flowerbeds to move, so I don't have so many to keep up.
Tom'
Hope Lowell is improving also. It doesn't sound to silly to me with the vet. We've done it a few times ourselves.
Garry,
A friend of ours went out to go to work one morning and smelled a skunk, but didn't see one. He found him when he started the car. The car stunk so bad for 2 months, you couldn't stand to drive it. He also found out, that skunk damage under the hood is not covered by Allstate insurance.
Ed,
Don't feel bad about not getting in any MRR'ing time, I haven't touched mine in almost 2 months.
JP,
Getting down to short time now, it'll be good ta have ya back. Stay safe out there.
Here's the last of the digital pics from our trip the Sat, we headed over towards Garry's and we got a pic of some fledgling eagles in their nest atop the bridge.
After meeting Garry n his wife, our first stop was at Gus's

Mornin' folks!
Yep, Garry, everything but the kitchen sink huh!
Hey Jim, proper preventitive planning which includes some track cleaning seems to help keep Mr. Murphy Law out of the equation!
In-laws made a surprise visit last night on their around the states driving vacation. Drove from Fargo, ND to Wake Forest, NC in two days, that's 1,600 miles of driving. They drove through pouring rain in Indiana, said it was plush and green there with all the rain lately. Showing them around town today!

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a cup of coffee, glass of Ed's OJ, a glass of milk and some of Bill T.'s buffet, please. Thank you, ma'am.
Not sure what to make of it, but as I was pulling up this morning, I saw a dark PT Cruiser pulling out with Vinnie driving, and two other guys with some (musical instrument?) cases in the back. Wonder where Vinnie's going?... Oh, kind of a "don't ask, don't tell" thing, huh, Zoe?
Lee, on your gons, you could go with #1100 series, I suppose. Only one bay (so to speak) on a gondola. You must've been a busy fella over the weekend, if you got 25 cars decaled.
Tom, any more word from the vet on Lowell? Hopefully, your buddy will be able to come home with you today.
Ryan, now I don't feel as badly about my delays on my layout. 9:)] Thanks! Surprising that Mr. Murphy has missed your operating sessions, he doesn't usually miss those.
Hey fellas, is there an open spot in that corner booth, or are you full up? Okay, I'll grab a seat in the next booth. Time to chow down.
Blessings on your week,
Jim in (stinky hot and a heat advisory today) Cape Girardeau
Good morning, everybody........
The corner booth is filling up.......... PC was the early one. Followed by Jeff and Lee..........and look at this....Bill arives at about 8:00 cdt. .... You can tell he's retired with hours like that. Howdy, Bill.
I see JP stopped by over the weekend.......
Jeff's planning to model the rusty, beat up baggage car....that'll be a fun project...
Ed provided a fruit update from "paradise"......... I see a bunch of other stuff --- everthing from septic to gumbo.......(Not the same thing. Right, Ryan?)
I hope Tom's lowell will be OK after all that vet time.
I had a full week end of non-model-railroad stuff......... I'd better get back to it.
Happy Model Railroading

Good morning all,
Rob those figures look real good and $11 for both? That's pretty good.
I have decals on 25 hopper cars now. They each have their own unique number, I started at 1401. 1000 = bulk product. 1400 = bulk product 4 bays. The next group will be 3 bay hoppers starting with 1301. Not sure how I'll designate the gondolas.
Rained all day Sunday so Jonathan missed out on the Dew Games (AKA Gravity games or X-Games). But Dorothy took him Saturday for a tour of the RR Museum and a ride on the AC&J railroad. Too bad no steam but they are pulled by a RS2. I had to work L so I didn't get to go.

I did too! I got it all done but the garage. I'll do that tonight.
Tall glass of cool water, thanks.
***Jim, you can't even tell where the septic tank was now. Still, I wouldn't suggest driving a loaded cement mixer over the area anytime soon. Oh, at $5.50 per set of figures delivered, I felt it was a pretty decent price for them. Now, if I could have found them in HO for the wife, that would have been even better.
Have a good night all.
Rob
Just a quick drop in!
Sorry for the mix up Jim and John! I knew it was a J name, LOL....oh well, must me my "ole' timers" kickin' in or sumptin'!
Glad you like the gumbo John!
Thanks for the recipe Ed! Nice to know the origin of the soup too, I did not know that it was not served in Mexico that much!
Not put any time on the layout since April! But I have been showing it off more to friends and family lately! They like to see the trains run, and so far Mr. Murphy Law has stayed away.
You all have a great week ahead!
JimRCGMO wrote:Jeff, is that pic another of that baggage car, or a different one? Hard to tell with all the rust on it.

Evening, Flo, not sure who's still here this late, but wanted to swing by before I head home for bed. Glass of water'll be it for me. Thanks.
Well, for those who had suggestions, I've considered going to Comcast, but don't really want or need cable TV enough to warrant it. Will need to see if Comcast will sell me just the broadband, 'cause they don't offer phone capability in our area.
I AM fed up with AT&T tonight. Had troubles with the email (outbound) early in the afternoon, and went by a friend's place, but by the time I got back home it hadn't been fixed. I tried calling what AT&T jokingly calls 'tech support', but they were all tied up (guess a lot of people are having the same problem...). I can get to other websites, and was able to login to AT&T's email, but when I tried to delete some spam, their server froze up on me. I could get to my Gmail account okay, and so I tried sending the email (that I'd intended to send via AT&T) by Gmail. Piece of cake! That has about clinched my decision for me. Wherever I'm going, it won't be with AT&T... Tom, you wanna send Guido and "Thumbs" Louie's phone numbers to Vinnie for me?
twhite wrote:Jeff:If you want to PM me your address, I've got an old Rivarossi smooth-side baggage car in SP "Sunset Limited" tomato-stripe that you can have. It's just been sitting around taking up space for years. I'd be glad to send it to you gratis.

Tom, that might just do the trick, since Jeff will be 'replacing' the original paint job with a lot of rust if he follows how that abandoned baggage car was.
Ryan, I see that JP spoke up for the gumbo. Just as well, gumbo's not my cup of... uh... soup.
New Haven I-5 (Luke) - do you have a steam loco in mind for a project, or did you buy that book for general reference? I saw it once in one of our LHS'es, and it looks like a good book.
Rob, I'm not sure what prices for N scale Preiser figures are, but that sounds like a good price on those figures. I keep watching the Walthers sale catalogs myself, for any figures that are on sale and that I might use on my layout. Been building up my RR's population gradually that way. Hopefully you're done with the septic tank.
CN Charlie, I would think with your winters up there, that they'd enjoy Mexican food for a little extra 'warmth' on a cold winter's day.
Ed, thanks for the update on the fruit harvests down there - and I'm sure that certain Diners' mouths will be watering for some of that Key Lime pie.... (Shhhh, don't tell any of our pie eaters...)
Bet PC will sleep pretty well tonight, with all the stuff that was on his plate today.
'd best get going, not much time until news is over and it's bedtime for this Diner. Didn't get much at all of my intended list done this weekend - drat.
Hope everyone else had a more productive weekend than mine. Gonna be a hot one tomorrow for us - they're talking heat advisories along the Mississippi River, from St. Louis to a bit south of Memphis area.
Blessings and prayers for those needing them,

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

Have been studying some of the track plans downloaded during that free weekend here. The more I think about it, the more appealing keeping it real simple becomes. With a nice length of shelf layout between two tables(doors), the more landscape there will be for the trains to run through. I'm leaning towards a southeast landscape, although that is also what the wife plans on having for her layout. As long as there is some kind of mountainous terrain and a creek or two, that is what interests me most. The wife can do a small town front on one end of her layout. OK, I'm babbling a bit...at least it is train related.
Will be drinking my coffee in a corner booth. Rob

***Ed, must be wonderful to have ready access to such good fruit. It's rare to find fresh, ripe fruit anymore in grocery stores. Wife has plans for a mini-orchard of dwarf trees: peach, cherry, apple, plum(?), and anything else that grows well here. Might even try her hand at canning.
***Lee, feel free to send any extra storms our way. The creek is barely a trickle now. We're probably going to add two more big storage tanks for the farm this year.
We meet with the builder tomorrow to go over a few changes wife wants to make to the plan. Not to worry, will not affect the train room.
Mornin' all!
Just gettin' ready for the day. I teach today! And I usually co-teach this class, but today my co-teacher won't be there until late, so I'm grabbing the reigns and runnin' with it! I'm teaching on the letters in Revelation (ch. 2-3). It's a pretty healthy sized chunk of Scripture. Should be pretty cool.
Gotta mow the lawn today and clean the garage some too. Throw in that the wife will undoubtably have a "hunny do" list of her own, and it doesn't look like I'll be idle for long today.
I'll catch up with you all later......after I'm worn out!
Bye!
Good morning all.
