"BEER" CARS62' PC&F Insulated 'Beer' Box Cars Built by Pacific Car & Foundry (PC&F), these cars were delivered in either 10' 6" or 12' 0" wide door versions. First built in the mid-70s with production continuing into the early 80s, many cars are still in service today disguised in new paint and lettering due to changes in ownership. These long box cars are typically found heading to and from breweries as they were designed to haul beer and other commodities that required the product to remain at a constant temperature during transit. This car could accomplish this without varying the temperature more than 1 degree.
Jerry, when the figures come I'll let you know what I think of them, they had N-scale people as well. If I knew about their street lights I would have bought them instead of the WS non-lighted street lights I have now. Granted this stuff is coming from China, but at these prices you can't beat them.
Jeff, if you want I can start saving AT PS for you. I do a lot of computer repair and I normally throw them out.
Rob, I've been studying for the Chief Service Wide Exam coming up in May. I could loan you a couple of my text books to read (you'll be asleep in 20 minutes).

BTW, this is a Red Caboose N model. Even though it is a Southern Pacific (which I like & usually keep), I am looking at every option for generating Bigboy funds and if this car came into play after the steam era, then I am willing to let it go on the-bay. Anyone here know?
Thanks! Rob
***Philip, Puddles is doing OK still. Wife gave her a third shot of penicilin this afternoon. I don't think she has passed IT yet, but I haven't done a thorough search either. She's not too interested in food, but is drinking plenty. Time will tell. Thanks for asking. BTW, you can probably guess how she got her name, eh! (she was an indoor bottle baby and couldn't keep a diaper on)

They're still looking for the guy. There's helicopters everwhere and the police are blocking off intersections and only letting one car through at a time. I guess a manager from a local Wendy's restarant was going into the bank to make his deposit as the robber was coming out. The manager jumped back in his car but was shot. He's at the local hospital now. This whole area is on lockdown by the police. Guess I won't be going out to get lunch anytime soon, huh?
You can see the latest here: http://www.wishtv.com/Global/category.asp?C=1504&nav=menu35_1 It's the top story, complete with video. Also here: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080402/NEWS02/80402030/-1/NEWS
Looks like the genieus didn't get any money in the robbery and he also shot someone. To top it off, he's the most wanted man in the Indianapolis area. He's having a VERY bad day!
BTW, Rob, hows Puddles doing?
in a AT&SF mug, please & thank you.
***Philip, are you going hunting? Hope they catch that *** quickly.
***Lee, I would call what you get as a rare and glorious slumber. I finally fell asleep at 6:00am and slept until 11:00am. Yawn!
Going to take pics of my old Bigboy and put it up for sale on the-bay tomorrow. Going to tuck away whatever I get for it into a "New Bigboy Account" and start saving for one of those fancy new Athearns. Might put up the remainder of deisels and old Mallet as well, to speed up the process. Still haven't decided on that one yet.

I heard about that, but still partly cloudy and sunny here today....

Yep, it was a part of the Allied Rail Rebuilders kit, but you can buy it alone from Walthers for about $4-5, I think it is on sale now.
Check out this craftsman model of a EMD 567 Prime Mover, I would love to upgrade to one like this....
This one was built by the late Augie Hiscano a four-time national champion model builder and his bio and history can be found on the The Internet Craftsmanship Museum at the URL

Well, well........lots of fun going on here!
Local businesses are under a lockdown due to the bank across the street being robbed and it looks like someone may have been shot. The suspect was seen running to a local WalMart next door and is currently still at large.
Gotta go!

Speaking of Walther's, I just dropped $80.20 on Walther's this morning. I ordered two Digitrax DZ125 decoders (Walther's #245-DZ125) and one 10 pair pack of Kadee #5 couplers (phone order special promotion item) and had them shipped second day air, so they should be here Friday.
Good morning to all, full sun today but extremely windy. We had a line of TS's come through last night at 9:30 that lit up the sky, downpours, hail, and winds over 50 mph. The winds continued to howl all night long and kept waking us up. This is rare to have violent TS's here in early April, it is only 34F this morning.
J.P.& ED: The Red Sox played a great game last night, beat Oakland 2-1, DiceK was really ON, as he struck out 9.
PC: Glad to hear you have the cold under control and that the family is getting better too. The warmer weather is just around the corner and that will also help the spirits.
PAUL: Very sorry to hear about your friend. That really leaves an empty spot in your life that now only memories can fill, but that will really help Paul, been there too!!
BOBK: Have you heard anymore about the Canton Train crash and what they found at the Lumber Yard?
DUKE: Are the Michigan politicians really planning to sell Lake Michigan water to help the states down south?? Hmmm, if they sell the water under the same program that Alaska has for their oil, you stand to get about $2000 per year per family member, just like the Alaskans. Just think what "that" will do for MRR budget!!!!
Later guys, time to get going.
Morning all!
Seems this cold of mine might be letting up! I feel quite a bit better this morning. I'm still not 100%, but maybe 90%. I'm alol for that.
So it's like only going to get up to the mid to high 40's today. I'm so ready for real spring to get here. I'd like to start walking around the lake again and stuff.
My wife and son continue to improve, and soon they'll be chasing me around again. I told the ladies that have been coming over and cooking dinner that I think we're back on track, so I thanked them and sent them on their way last night. They were an awesome help, but now that things are getting back to normal and I'm not so sick any more, they need to be with their families, not mine. They were an incredible blessing to have around though.
I guess thats about it for around here.
Later!

Morning!
Jim that was a good one! Thanks for the laugh......er......quiz.......
Well, the expected rain turned to sunshine, first sighting of the sun in 4 days. The 61 F. temp this morning is the high, supposed to drop to the low 40's by this afternoon. Oh well, spring lasted for about 5 days, here comes winter again....
Couple of my lastest efforts...
Later folks,
Good morning, It been a while since i've been in here. I'll have the usual!
Here's some pics of what i've been up to:
Good morning
Happy MRRing
Good Morning All,
A regular to go please. Still trying to dig out from the results of last weeks cold bug and missed hours, but beavering away is catching up a bit. We have 9 cars leaving for Savannah Monday plus one to the panel beaters, one to paint, and two for delivery, plus the BMW 328 for Pocono next Friday which includes servicing the dually truck and the tag trailer before then. Not much MRR time in the crystal ball just now. Did stay up and watch UConn's great come from behind victory in NCAAW basketball last night. Good game and the Rutgers coach just can't catch a break. Both teams were good enough to go to the final four.
Sorry to hear about your friend Paul, knowing it's coming doesn't make it any easier.
Time to get back to it - lots to do again today. CUL, J.R.
Good Morning from Tipton IN !

Paul, I know our small breaker here has been all over the place this winter. First salty is due this week, hopefully the weather holds out for them.
Rob, I'm having a similar problem, not to the extent you're having but it seems to get worse as time goes by. I go to bed at 10pm, wake up at 5am, now I'm waking up at 4am.
4:25am...time for another helping of that Insomniac Special. I'll have a budweiser with it this time. Looks like an exhausting day ahead for sure now. Oh well. Rob
3:00am...Insomniac Special, please & thank you.
***Gav, have a good one!
cheque please
see you all in 4 days
Gav
Cool glass of water please.
***Paul, used the old manual way, as I had to dig them in the area of a leach field and needed to know if I hit a bad spot. Only had to re-start one of the holes, so luck was with me. Only 3 left to dig now and then I'll bring out the bags of quickcrete. I do use the PTO-digger if there are enough holes to justify the hassle of hooking it up.
***Sue, that is a wonderful photo of #7 in your last post.
Night All. Rob
hi sue
