in a UNDECORATED mug, please & thank you.

After a few hours sleep this morning (what is with some of us here and insomnia?), got up and made the trip for more round bales. Turns out he has over 100 bales, so we can pick them up as we need them. Whew!

Running on fumes here. Hope everyone is doing well. Cowboy [C):-)] Rob

Jeff, looks like anywhere between just north of me and south to your way, is just dicey weather today. Shock [:O] Maybe the rumbling thunder I heard was down your way?

PC, you might want to check with your son on how many staging tracks you'll need. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] And that's not even one of Paul's long ore car drags, either - watch out if your son gets a look at those...Whistling [:-^]

Got my state tax forms (and money order) ready to mail for today. Then just to wait for the federal stuff to get in. Yeah!! [yeah] I'm going to be tracking my medical costs closer this year, since I may do even better if I itemize next year on taxes. Strrrrretch that budget!

Back to the w**k for me.

Good (rainy) Morning, Zoe! I'll have a hot breakfast, please - scrambled eggs, toast, couple of those near-bacon strips, cup of coffee, glass of milk and another of Ed's OJ. Thanks!

Morning all!

Got an early start this morning.  Woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep.  Figured I might as well make myself useful, so I cleaned house and did the dishes.  My wife should be happy with that!  It's going to be a long day though now.  I have class tonight after work, so I won't get home until about 10:30pm.  It's alright though, because I can head straight to bed when I get there.

For those of you that are unaware, when my son had his recent surgery we had a little wool pulled over our eyes.  Let me explain.....you see, a forum member Emailed me and asked if he could have my address so he could send a get well card.  I gave him my work address and a few days after we got home from the hospital (Can't wait to NOT go back there!) I got a box in the mail.  I took it home to my son and he was overjoyed at the fact that he now had his own train (even though I'd already given him his pick of any of mine years ago).  Inside the box was a beautiful 4-8-4 Northern locomotive and a few cars.  A day or two later, another box arrived!  Seems that my address was making the rounds!  A bunch of cars were inside, just waiting to go for a spin around the layout.  And yesterday, another box!  More cars (a ton of them!), all carefully wrapped up and just awaiting my sons glistening eyes!  I don't know what to say........he's thrilled and I'm humbled by the generosity displayed.  Thanks you guys.....you know who you are.  And so, without further delay, I present, The Surgery Train!  (And yes, we know it has three cabooses and we like it that way!)

Thanks guys!  You're the best!

Terry, you take it easy and just stay out of that white stuff.  Hope the kids make it home OK.

Chuck of Chuck's Depot in Marion said he will have his store open for a couple of hours in the afternoon, too. Normally, he's closed Sundays. Thanks, Garry - I'll have to figure what my available My 2 cents [2c] will be, and allowing extra gas, MRR purchases, etc. Just for now, not sure it'll go for this time, but I'll bookmark the S.Ill. Train Club's site for future reference.

Morning,all.

WINTER STORM WARNING:

Expect rain ,freezing rain and snow. High winds, blowing and drifting snow. Snow accumulation 4-6" tonight,6-8" thru Saturday.

SHEEEESH! Duluth/Superior are under a blizzard warning according to the local radio! I'm guessing ,based on the radar ,it's the junk you guys down south are dealing with.

Kids are coming up from MPLS today.I'm going to try to do a tutorial on chain link fences and how I make trees. The son is a pretty good pic taker and has a way better camera than what I have available.

Good Morning All,

A regular to go please Zoe. Mid 40's and drizzly this morning with more of the same tomorrow. The high to be in the mid 60's. Looks like a rainy weekend at Pocono Raceway this weekend as well and the usual temps 10 - 15 deg below what we'll have here or 40 - 50F.

Spent time tidying up the bench area and layout last night. If i keep at it I might be able to find the tracks beneath the debris. Not much else to report at this point except the shop list is getting whittled down item by item and that's a good thing, Catch y'all laters.   J.R.

Well that's another month punched in! Why is it that a month alongside is like three at sea? Didn't have times for forums or anything else  but work!

Anyway time for getting the garden ready the garage cleaned and maybe some MR'ing done!

Later All

Rob, congrats on finding a reasonable deal on the bales. Good that it's the round ones (they are bigger, right?), and hope there are some more waiting for you in the morning, too. Yeah!! [yeah]

RT, you could offer to come down to that VA office and provide your fingers to take the fingerprints from...Yeah!! [yeah]Whistling [:-^] Hope they get off their duff soon and you get word on the new job.

We're supposed to have a chance of nasty thunderstorms (and/or other stuff) tomorrow afternoon/evening, per our local weathercasters. So, Garry, Inch, Jerry, and points east up the Ohio valley, watch out for tomorrow and Friday.

Paul, they were showing some of the hail damage in Texas on tonight's news, and saying we might get some baseball size stuff by the afternoon. Looked like there was once cell a bit north of Dallas, and maybe others coming. We're hoping for clouds most of tomorrow, since that reduces the chance of building up energy for the front.

Well, I'd best get going for now. See everyone tomorrow.

Blessings and safe weather,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Evening Gang: I made some good progress on cleaning the garage. It rained a bit but nothing more then some drizzel of and on. Tonight there are some real bad storms north of us. At least one tornado west at Brekenridge. It hit the airport real bad. They had some pics of a L-5 Stinson on it's back with a broken wing. Really sad.

I think that I'll sign off and get to bed.

***JP, did you notice any rain while you were out shooting photos?Wink [;)] Wish that UP loco had been the one closest to the camera, being a big UP fan and all.

Speaking of UP, I had my Kato 90/43MAC running on the test loop. It sure is a fine running & looking (IMO) locomotive. Turned out the lights and I really like how it is lit. Going to keep this diesel along with my Gas Turbine. Some models are just too cool to let go of, even if they have no place in a steam era layout. They can be my designated Holiday Locos.

Keep waiting for my vintage Challenger to bid up on the-bay, but still no progress there yet.

Wonder why the (N) Athearn Challengers cost more than their Bigboys?
