Hello all.
Not that I'm tired of model railroading, but just for the heck of it I thought I'd see what else you guys - and girls might be into in the way of hobbies.
Personally, I collect robots, WWII 12" German action figures (mainly officers) and R/C items such as cars, flying craft, etc. I also build things once in a while like the life size Frankenstein I built last October for Halloween. I use to build wooden models from scratch of everything from guns to airplanes to ships but had to give it up due to health reasons. I also use to be into cowboy action shooting but the popularity of that died down. Once in a while I might get a .22 rifle or pistol out and do a little target shooting out back of my house here where I have a firing range. And that's about it for me...

Model building of all types, but mostly ships (WWII US/IJN and Napoleonic) and wargaming.
Do you consider throwing money into a hole in the water a hobby? String and RC planes when I was young. Used to enjoy building those stick balsa paper covered planes. Slot car phase for a while too.
Just trains now.
I switch back and forth between building Hot Rods and Modeling Trains.
Current project is a 1987 Chevy S-10 Extended cab shortbed Tahoe edition Pickup, Ground up restoration, repowered with a 1969 327 cid small block and PowerGlide. Slightly Lowered, 8 inch wheels up front, 10 inch wheels out back, all Polyuethane bushings, all Stainless Steel fluid lines.
Last Project was a 1967 Camaro. 327/4 spd. Ground-up restore with similar treatments.
Used to be into R/C airplanes (72 inch w.s. Trainers), R/C Trucks (Tamiya Big Brute Toyota 4x4) and Off-Roading (with a small group of friends, mostly with Toyotas and Jeeps).
Reading (and, occasionally, writing) science fiction. Military history. Gymnastics (as a spectator) and NASCAR racing (ditto.)
And my most important (and most expensive) hobby, my wife of 47+ years.
Chuck (modeling Central Japan in September, 1964)
I am a seasonal hobby person!
Winter- MRR and gaming
Spring and Fall- I am at the gun club and frissbee golf.
Summer-camping and a large collection of hobby R/C cars and a R/C tiger tank that shoots pellets. When it gets into the 100 degree temps I will go back into the MRR and gaming.
Very busy and very fun is my game.
Plastic models....cars for the most part but anything at times
1/1 scale cars...1973 show winner Javelin, 66 Mustang 2+2 and a few others
Riding real trains
a few others but not on a regular basis
I dabble in woodworking as time permits. I hope to do more of that after I retire.
Enjoy
Paul

Film production (I'd actually like this one to be more of a profession someday), creative writing, and plumbing... Well, that last one is more out of necessity these days.

I used to play Ultimate Frisbee from spring through fall. Then I got too old to keep up with the many other twenty-somethings that played. Frisbee golf is probably more my speed these days.
Collecting and shooting surplus rifles, and rebuilding a 1948 CJ2A Jeep. I generally model railroad in the winter and shoot in the summer.

I enjoy photography. Curiously, I don't really take much in the way of model train pics. I am more interested in natural subjects and the occasional "real" train. Oh, of course, and pictures of my baby! Me and the wife both like to cook which has become a sort of hobby for us too.

Amateur Radio (General Class), Listening to my scanners, home brew electronics projects, MAME (multiple arcade machine emulator), and watching trains trackside.
"Eat, Sleep, Fish"....MRR is my way to relax., I also like to model WW2 armour. My other hobby was fishing but that has turned into my full time job! I also like to toy with my 74 CJ5 and spend time in the the gym.

Fishing, mountain biking, and hiking. Here are some shots of a hike we took that also involved railroading (former Colorado Midland ROW through Ute Pass)....
Used to be cross-country skiing until I blew out my right knee about 5 years ago. Besides MR'ing I collect classic films from the '30's, '40's and '50's. Also reading about Ancient History, especially all those fun Barbarians around the First Century.
I suppose you could call herding about 85 High School guys on and off stage for choral performances a hobby (assuming you're a Masochist), but it's actually part of my profession.

I guess my house and yard are my primary other hobby. It's 5/8 acre with 65 trees; mowing the lawn takes about 5 hours (yes, I have a riding mower). All the pruning, etc fill a lot of time, too. The house is 54 years old and is in need of an interior face-lift; I do that a little at a time. When the weather is warm, my layout room is pretty quiet.
I also build furniture and I'm an officer in our woodworking club (We have a big, well equipped shop - I do most of the training for new members and maintenance/repairs on the equipment).
I was building a '62 street custom VW bug, but it's finished so I just take it to shows now and then (it's won a few awards). There are times I think of starting a new car project, but it's hard to find time to do it.
I'm into analog photography (the kind with film, manual focus, manual exposure).
I ride my 35 year old Italian roadracing bicycle when my knees aren't too sore (arthritis - man, I miss Vioxx).
I take my wife out for a date at least once a week.
...and there's my dog - looking after her needs for exercise and attention are alomost like a job, but she's a lot of fun (American Foxhound who found me at an animal shelter).
I also have a job, doing Human Resourse management for a manufacturing company (retirement is just 10 years away).
I'm on the city council - that has given me a whole new appreciation for government (it ain't easy).
Looking at the list, where do I find time for trains? It's in there, somewhere.
I do a little fishing, too.
It's interesting how many of the same other-than-model railroading activities model railroaders have in common.
Phil, I'm not a rocket scientist; they are my students.
I miss Vioxx
I know EXACTLY what you mean with my back/neck problems.
My wife and 2 grown kids, 2 boats, fishing, Nascar, gardening, landscaping, online gaming.

I currently enjoy reading, hiking (especially in the mountains), photography (was at one time a pro, taught it a while), woodworking (also taught that a while), boating, fishing, and when I was just a few years younger, both cross-country and downhill skiing.
Model railroading is one of my few indoor pastimes.
Current:
1. Golf
2. Hiking
3. Homebrewing beer
Previous (currently dormant):
4. Civil War Reenacting (Union - 148th Penn. Volunteer Infantry, 6th Ohio Vol. Militia)
5. General aviation (private single-engine VFR rating)
