Quite a lot of home brewers here.. I put my stuff away for the last few years but I used to make a mean Red Bitter. Thats a hobby I need to pick up again but with so many yummy micro-brews in the Portsmouth NH area, I haven't been motivated..

Since I was raised in a traditional Native American house hold we were taught how to make everything that we used in the old days, I can make reproductions of any of my tribes war weapons, tools, quivers, bows, arrows and bead worked deer skin clothing.

Because of my historical knowledge of Native bead work I've had the oppertunities to preserve and repair some historical pieces for native museums.

Here is a sample of a mans belt pouch made of deer skin and beaded, I'm also building a custom van based on my culture called "Native Son" I'll sneak a pic or two of that project in here also.

Take note of the custom window work, inserts that create a limo style window.

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting non rail road pics?

Here is a pic looking through the side door, the floor was raised by 7" the half door (gate) leading into the bed area is hand carved and painted, also the scene above the door way depicts a warrior on the buffalo hunt and is carved and hand painted.

Thanks for asking, I have many passions and Model Rail roading is just one of them.

Please visit my Photobucket pics page. http://photobucket.com/Jesse_Red_Horse_Layout I am the King of my Layout, I can build or destroy the entire city on a whim or I can create a whole new city from scratch , it is good too be the King.

I'm into plastic model cars of various scales--1/25 being the most dominant. I've also been restoring a 1969 MGB GT, which should be finished very soon. Throw in the collection of Radio-Flyer wagons, and I have plenty of wheeled vehicles to play with :)

Model trains is my main hobby now, but I've always liked plastic models, RC cars, or repairing anything that needs it. Anything electronic, including computers and radio, in fact an amateur friend recently gave me his old Hammarlund HQ-129X boat anchor (an old Ham tube receiver) that I've restored. I've been having fun listening to the AM bunch on 40 meters, as it makes for some pretty interesting radio, to say the least. Whistling [:-^]

I like hiking and mountain biking, but unfortunately a disk rupture has made the latter nearly impossible. Grumpy [|(]

I'm into photography, camping, hiking and my 2nd favorite thing next to N-Gauge is computers. I build them for the family and friends. Lately, I've been experimenting with different Linux distros.

My other big hobby is riding motorcycles, some steet, mostly off road vintage bikes. used to race motocross, but getting to old for that. Also like messing with computers. Since starting into trains and taking pictures of them, photography may be added to the list.

In addition to my model railroading I'm a 200+ average bowler, an eager texas hold'em tournament player, a brass musician that specializes on the trombone and a breeder of APA standard bred poultry.

Other hobbies come and go but those are the main ones.

I have a die cast fire truck model collection which I have not added to for a while. In summer golf, fishing. I live right near a fairly large lake so a bit of boating. As a retired fire fighter I still have a interest in fire trucks.

I am a volunteer firefighter. This in itself is a hobby, I think. Fly fishing, fly tying, shooting, hunting and model trains are my hobbies.

   Gotta love the expensive ones....

In addition to model railroading I spent a lot of time making chainmaille armor. I also like to play war games, but I've never been able to really stick with any- they either die out or I don't keep interested.

Hash slinging. I hold the world's record for distance (a four ounce scoop) at 178.5 yards and for accuracy. I can place a 2 1/2 inch diameter scoop of hash into a 6 in wide saucer at 83 yards.

Nit picking. Even at the age of 61, I can pick nits faster than people 40 years younger than I without sacrificing quality.

My grandchildren, children, wife and a number of innocent bystanders have informed me that I am a master in the art of.... well, there's a well known scene in the movie "Blazing Saddles" that pretty much covers the subject.

What follows isn't really a hobby, but at one time I was a professional informed source/reliable authority of the kind that are frequently quoted by the press (as in "An informed source close to the President said today that....."). I co-founded (along with another person who wishes to remain anonymous) the North American University of Informed Sourcery and Reliable Authoritarianism. I can't tell you where it's located because that would be revealing a confidence. I can't tell you what the qualifications are to get into the university, the graduation requirements or even if the school is accredited. You'll have to trust me on this. If you show talent, the school will come looking for you.

Andre

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Photography, reading, travel & music.  The music bit keeps me the busiest of any of them as I play keyboards in the worship band at church and do some composing and recording.  My current noisemakers are Ensoniq SD1, Roland JV1080 & Alesis Ion synthesizers and I've got a song being released on a compilation CD this month.

Besides the model railroading, I play drums and help out at the local railroad museum. My other hobby turned into a career in vintage road racing and I currently run a 1960 Lotus 7 in several events  a year and prepare and run cars for customers at 20 other events a year all over the eastern half of the U.S.         J.R.
