There finally just cause your layout looks that good doesnt give you reason to bash others I will say I like it I like it a lot but as I said it doesnt give you the right to be negative about others. These forums were made for helping others and just sharing our information etc. Your sharing was more knocking and making many modelers unhappy. unfortunately I have nothing new to show or anything to prove I like what I have done, what I hav accomplished and continue to do. Show what I have done when I get back to working on the layout. I'm sure I will take blows about what someone dont like but I take kindly to friendly none vulgar critizm than someone telling me it sucks S*** etc. If you dont want to look at pictures cause they arent up to your standards just scroll past them.
I'm going to add my two cents into this problem:
STOP PUTTING LOGS ON THE FIRE, PEOPLE.
Just because Geep Unit is pissing everyone off with his negative comments doesn't mean that we have to keep trying to get one up on him with a counter bad remark. Two negatives don't make a positive. Let's all just keep on going with posting pictures of our weekend.
Geep Unit,
I like your work. Your layout shows that you have a good imagination. That is something that this hobby needs, but we can't go after people that don't. What if Jeffrey was a young boy trying his best, would you still "come at him alike a Spider Monkey" (name that movie)? Maybe Jeff is at the point that would equal where we or you or I were at one point in this hobby. I can remember my first layout. It was crap. My first digital camera, it was crap too.
You guys need to get along or this forum is going to around much longer. I'm not sure if some of you can handle that.
Just my thoughts

Cool Geep Unit! It's very realistic! That derailment looked painful!!!!
I agree, if you just kept your nasty comments to yourself, then I personally would welcome you as a regular poster and contributer to the fourums.
I also thought Geeps layout were pretty good. I would much rather see the pics here than wade through all the critizing and foul language.
Please Geep, don't use that kind of language here, there are women and children that read this. Mike

Thanks man but I am outta here after tonight and thats great news for the rest of the guys. The derailment needed no work at all because it really happend I just took a picture of it after it happend thats all.
Great stuff everyone... As for the other threads... I dunno where some people get off...
This has been a terribly busy weekend, but much good will come of it, I was setting up the time and expense module for my business in MS Excel, and writing procedures and developing new client packets... I did take time though to design some stuff on cafe press, totally related to my railroad if anyone wants to check it out... its at http://www.cafepress.com/pbjrailroad
I am not advertising, nor soliciting, I just discovered their site and thought it would be cool to put my railroad logo on a shirt for my pregnant wife.
What someone had posted alink to my website with many many pictures that you can critique away at. My photography I never claimed to be the best but it aint that bad! Here is a whole load of photos of my layout that you may critique, compliment, on as you wish. Its does not bother me either way.

Nice work.
I freely admit , I cheated a bit. I bought the Walthers Sante Fe freight house, closed up all the openings, and then made molds. When I cast the new walls , they are clean and ready to do my stuff to them. I will chop and splice alot tho get what I want out of it. Like you said these things just aren't out there. I just wanted a stucco style city hall, small town, small building. Police dept will work out of the back.Color is undecided right now , but the usual yellowish earthy color will work for me.

Geep unit, if you want to see excellent photos all the time, start a professional photographers thread. I've seen photos on here that are worse than mine and you don't jump on them half as much. I will post what photos I want to. I you don't like them, that's your problem. This is supposed to be Weekend Photo Fun, not Weekend Photo Judgement and Insult. So far it's been anything but fun! I can't help it if my old equipment isn't up to par with your newer stuff.
NOW GET OFF MY CASE!

The real floor was a mottled green carpet but I find earth is a good color to use on unseen floors, especially when lighting interiors. The interiors came molded in the turquoise color, which is pretty close to the prototype Zuni Turquoise. If I was going to repaint this color I use GN Glacier Green (414228).To simulate the El Capitan's Adobe style plates, I used TH&B Cream (404055).

Very good reference. Thanks for sharing that info.
I had never considered that earth would be a good neutral color for unseen (or barely seen) floors. I plan on lighting most of my interiors with LEDs.

Just wondering Geep if you mowed down your train engineer with an AK-47? LOL. Is that the blood stain under the loco?
On a serious note though, I was wondering how you like the Athearn AC4400 models. I've been somewhat skeptical about athearn. I just bought a blue and yellow box loco last Christmas for $60 and have had some motor problems with it.
Is the overland model a smooth runner like Atlas or Kato? /quote
No no no. I would dream of such a violent incident with the engineer for some members will say I am sick for modeling anything not considered "normal" LOL I spiled red paint thats all.
I am not a fan of the Athearn models running abilities and that is why I switch out the motors with genesis ones from engines I didnt like and sold as dummies. Then I add much needed weight and they are run worthy.
The few Overland models I have run flawlessly in my opinion and its not because I envy stupid brass either. It is because they do run real nicely like Atlas or Kato. My Sd70ACe runs the best out of any loco I have ever owned. I just won the bid for $456 for the Overland Bush unit SD70ACe but the kicker is it is a unpowered model. But the good news is I will remove the motor and DCC from one of my other Overland models to power it up, If it works!

The renumber decal set come with all that you see. It is fairly easy too. There is aYellow patch and if you look real close in one or two of the pictures you can see the Microscale paper in the backround. The yellow goes over then the numbers onto the yellow patch. The very cool thing is you DO NOT have to remove the previous numbers at all to get great results. I know most people use harsh chemical sto remove the numbers and letters just to patch it and its not needed. Go ahead and repatch those SP units. If you sell them on Ebay they will sell for more money too because it is now a UP unit and people do like the repatches.
Still working on my resin cast stucco city hall. Finally making enough progress that I could open up the doorway and do a temporary install of the wooden beans over the door. Not even close to being the final product. After I'm happy with things I'll stipple the wall with a stiff brush and get the stucco finish I want. Then on to the other 3 walls. Very time consuming projuect so far. These were all cast from my own molds.

I'm sure your a nice guy and all , but please don't requote every photo, drives dialup folks crazy waiting for the load time.
Great photos all; this is the way WPF should be.

Dan, I like that autorack too, but if you rear-end it does the Pinto explode?

R.T.POTEET: I beleive the prototype does refer to that as patching. At least I do!
Geep Unit: I like your work (although it's sad to see UP patching SP), but I don't like your negative comments. Please keep them to yourself.
Great work everyone!
