I know Life Like doesn't have a great reputation with some folks here, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on equipment when I was first starting out. Although I have nothing to compare it against, I am very happy with it. It is quite heavy, sticks to the track well and pulls very smoothly even at extremely low speed. [:)]

I'm wondering if this is a problem with their US-outline range as well?

I'm wondering if this is a problem with their US-outline range as wel/quote] I recently bought a Bachmann GP30 at a swap meet and omitted to test it at the time. It doesn't run lumpy but has a horrible fibration at one end which I find almost as iritating. I tried every possible solution in the book, cleaning and lubricating the gears, checking the gauge and free movement of the trucks, checking the balance of the motor, even moving the front truck to the back and vice versa and last but not least inspecting the coupling btween motor en trucks. I suspect the last is the source of the fibration but I have no way to confirm that. I have two other Bachmann loco's and these perform as they should. Happy and healthy newyear to you all.
