No need to ask anyone. Got it. Read it. Will respond when I have a bit more time than I do right now. Thnaks.
TMarsh Galaxy- Though not from my personal experience, I can understand your pain. My Mother has arthritic mpain in her spine and she is in constant pain. Mom’s doc switched her from Vicodin to Norco something or something that sounds like Norco something. Vicodin for her was getting needed in stronger and more frequent doses as well. Ask your doc about the switch and if he thinks it will work for you and mix with your other meds.

Yeah I will talk to my regular Dr. about it. The Pain Center said they don't give out pain meds on first visit anyway. { Oh really? I am in pain enough to be referred to you and you don't think I need it? do I need more tests?} Problem is two fold: 1} My Reg. Dr. is concerned that I become addicted to these high level addicting pain meds {as they all are with such medications} and 2} they are concerned about teh meds I already take and interactions- {{I took out the list but I do have 22 prescriptions}}. they are for:
#1-4 are to breathe better; 5-8 and 20 are for my psychiatric disorders;9-10 are for stomach/esaphageal disorders;11-12 are for my heart; 13-14 are for cholesterol and high blood pressure;15-16 so I can pee; 17-19 are muscle relaxer and pain meds for my back; and 21-22 are so I don't die in my sleep.
So you can see, drug dependence and drug interactions are of great concern to them, even though I am not an addict.
We will see what my Regular Dr. will do before the Pain center kicks in it's ideas. My Regular Dr. tried me on Percocet too, but I did not like the way it made me feel, and it did NOTHING for me. the percocet with the oxycontin and the vicodin {i was to take all three about the same time} all together gave me what I called a "medication hangover" coming off them- so we stopped the percocet as it was main culprit.
Thank you all for your concerns and prayers!
EDIT: I managed to get TOP HONORS again so the credit card is still out so eat up guys!

Good mornin. Eggs over easy, hashbrowns, brown sugar bacon, half order of biscuits and gravy and of course, coffee please and thank you.
Today, the good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, I'll be working at Mom's house and should get the guest bathroom, er excuuuse me Brenda, the "Powder Room". It's in the entrance "Foy-yay" and is used mainly for visitors and not overnight guests (snooty nose in the air look). A 5 X 6 washroom is not gonna hold much of a shower or tube I wouldn't think. Maybe get some paining done and the kitchen sink counter out, and the cabinets back in (provided the walls get painted) and some flooring in the Master Bath and the laundry and back bath removed. Big plans for just one day. All do able but lately, I can not be left alone. ev-er-y sing-gle DAY someone calls and I have to do something for them. Yesterday, the Stalag called and I had to go in to town and settle some paper work involving the stuff they told me to TAKE HOME THURSDAY!!! so it won't get lost. I could almost scream. I wonder what it will be today.
Yes, it's amazing what you find on Youtube. It's also amazing the amount of TIME I KILL WATCHING THE STUPID VIDEOS!!!!!! I swear, (but not often) I end up sittng for better than an hour cruising through the videos "related" to the one I'm watching. Case in point; after signing off last night I continued watching Youtubes spawning from Robby's video. ( I also found several other videos containing the last three cars and like Ebay, each claiming a rare shot. Actually for them, like Robby and the rest of us, it is a rare opportunity. I guess they mainly travel at night?) Anyway, somehow I eventually through "related" videos ended up watching a couple Johnny Cash vids. About 11:30 quarter til twelve I got to bed. I hate Youtube.
Well there is the phone. Bet it's starting already, someone needs something and I or Brenda will have to abandon our efforts to respond.
Have a Great day!!!
EDIT: HA! G, you got it again!! Boy oh boy of all the luck and the weekend breakfast crowd too. Hopefully PC will pop back in, he sometimes takes the hit for TOP. Wonder how he and the family are doing.

Percocet did nothing for Mom either.

Good Morning, Janie - I'll have a couple of waffles, slice of butter on top, and please bring me the maple syrup pitcher - oh, just leave it here. I'm sure somebody else will be needing it shortly. Thanks!
Sawyer - well, you learned a lot from your 4X8 (just from what I saw of the photos you've posted). Do you expect to be able to use some/any of your structures on the new layout, or are you totally starting from scratch?
Todd, my man, - thanks for the link to that video! Guess they have observations yet, eh? Of course, I'm sure with insurance departments, they don't let anyone come sit out on the 'back deck', but nice to see they're still there. And on those videos? "Just say no." Step away from the computer (turning it off first)...Take your hand off the mouse - you can do it, man!
Allegheny, I think I'm jealous - only $7.00 for haircuts there? Here, they're around $12 most places. Of course, that might depend on whether that price (in your neck o'the woods) is just for a crew cut type... I agree with Rob, that was a fun surprise for you - and do check out each other's layouts (or wherever each of you are in the process).
Rob, I'd say that Ulrich has a good idea there on a Mallet, plus it might depend on how steep the grade up the mountain to the logging site is - an 0-6-0 might be underpowered for mountain climbing (IMHO).
Galaxy, I'll vouch for Flip - he's been around the Diner longer than I have, but is not in as much because his w**k schedule (last one I heard, that is) was wacky (part in the a.m., time off, then run late into the day...one of those things!). And that is one doozy of a med list there. I'm sure the pain centers' policy is to not prescribe anything on the first visit - not because of the people like yourself who actually NEED the right pain meds, but because of all the jerks out there who 'doctor-shop' with a half dozen different places to get as much of a buzz as they can. Those...umm, 'people' (don't want to use what popped into my mind when referring to THEM) make getting actual medical help harder for those truly needing treatment, meds, etc. Okay, soapbox, back in your corner! Darn thing...
Flip - can I plead the Fifth on that knuckle spring vs. vision thing? I had heard that idea of putting a dab on one end of the spring (maybe you'd posted it in here earlier. A good idea!)
Barry - thanks for the info (and saving me some hunting time with TigerDirect). I had known that they covered computer and tech stuff, just thought they'd added some new lines in the MRR department (ah well...). Say Hi to Spring for us!
WisconsinRailfan - and hope you get some MRR stuff in the loot! Remember to bring the leftover birthday cake into the Diner after the celebrating's done and share.
Well, suprisingly, it's only about 80 F (27 C) this morning at almost 9:30, but supposed to get to 96 F (36 C) by this afternoon. When I first got up, it was about 73 F, but the humididytee was 100 percent. Whoops! Gonna be a double boiler out there today, methinks!
Trying to decide what to start with this morning (until the pager does something). May read the new MR issue, as it looks like some useful articles in there. However, I'll have to see what them thar 'pottoppers' look like before I go using those for any meadow (as the one article talks about)...
I'll be at the Rivet Counter, eating my breakfast and skimming through my MR (and chatting with the breakfast bunch).
Blessings and prayers,

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe I'll have the #2 special this morning, over easy eggs, bacon, home fries, and a double order of sourdough toast to go along with a pot of dark roast coffee...
I have read with interest the replies here on the pain meds. My mother was on some heavy duty stuff for pain the last decade or so of her life. Her doctor finally put her on a pain patch which kept her pain to a minimum and let her be more mobile. Have no idea what the drug was, but it seemed to work well for her.
Need to mow the lawn today if possible but right now there are a bunch of cars parked along the street. "The Arbors" which is the new name for my part of town is holding a neighborhood garage sale today....... So ladies have corralled their husbands into setting up tables and lugging all kinds of junk out for the perusal of other ladies. I will probably have to mow around cars. Too bad I don't have a bunch of safety cones so I could block my lawn off and ........... Hmmmmm? This is all part of our new "Neighborhood Initiative" here in Geneva.
Oh well, best get moving.

Percocet , to me is just an M&M. While my best friend was fighting cancer, they had him on the strongest pain meds and an electric doohicky placed over nerve centers, did little good -Until he got some maryjane which relaxed him enough for the meds to work. Gone at 42 in 1978.

SInce my appointment with the neurosurgeon was on Tuesday and the referal call to the pain center by the neurosurgeon's office yielded a complaint of their computer being down at teh Pain Center so they couldn't schedule me, my appointemnt/referral is delayed. I was given paperwork to fill out for the pain center and told they would call me. I called them {the Pain Center} Friday to see if they had the referral yet and they said no, but to wait as the neurosurgeon's office would send them the notes and file on me as well, to determine which of their Drs. I should see. I explained I hoped it would not take too much longer as I was running out of pain meds and would have to see my GP again for more. THAT is when she explained they don't give out pain meds on first visits anyway, but rather "try to determine how to help you", and that I would have to go back to my GP for more pain meds. I realize they have pill poppers out there looking for "fixes" but no medication I have ever taken has given me a "high", except the combination of the percocet, vicodin and oxycontin all together {as prescribed by my Dr.} which gave me more of a "medication hangover" than a "high" so I have never understood what these pill poppers get out of meds. I guess if you don't need them maybe they give you a "high"....but if you need them they do {or don't do} what they are supposed to for you. If I get no relief or help from teh Center for Pain Relief -then what teh heck do I need them for????

Could have been a "Fentanyl patch" I think that's how you spell it. It's a strong pain med patch that the friend of ours who we took to Strasburg RR in PA uses as he has had several back surgeries and even has an rechargeable electronic electrode inpant in his back as well, that does him little good.
It will be interesting to see what the CPR {center for pain relief} tells me or gives me.

Thank goodness for A/c right? Thank goodness someone invented refridgeration and applied it to a/c. I couldn"t live without A/c- in my house and minivan -at all when hot and definitely when hot and humid- can't breathe well- as all next week we are supposed to be here, though still not as hot as you down there. Yet. WE've had a nice cooling off period here for a bit after a week of rain and t-storms.
Birthday ? DId I hear "Birhday"? Where's the cake? I just love cake! .... I bet there's some left after Wisconsin Railfan has his piece. He could not be hungry for cake after eating those huge sausage biscuits this morning! Wow! Did "W.R." chow down on those sausage biscuits. I never "sausage" an appetite! (Never mind. I'm just "badgering Wisconsin Railfan.)
Did they have another mud fight in Louisiana last night or what? Have you seen all the mud all over those freight cars? ....... oops.... oh ...Hi, Jeff . ... I did not see you sitting there. ... Nice job there on those scuzzy freight cars.
Jim and Todd... That was a fast moving Amtrak train in teh video and hard to see details. The last car could have been one they use for push-pull operation with cab controls in one end for the engineer. I'm not sure, but I doubt it's an observation car.
Here's another shot of our Colorado Amtrak trip. We are departing Denver on our westbound train, and there was an Amtrak unit parked at the station. I took the photo from the rear door window.

***Galaxy, my wife (RN) suggests getting a marijane card and get off most of that garbage they have you taking. Even the nicest folks don't realize just how addictive pain meds are. My MIL is a typical example. She is messed up thanks to taking similar numbers over many years. Although she will never be the same, she is somewhat better, now that she is down to vicodin (3 times daily) and a single lidoderm patch. A word of caution: do not use a fentanyl patch with a heating pad, it can release all the meds at once (= overdose). Only our best wishes for you!
Used the metal detector to search for Tinytoon's shoe she threw the other day. No luck thus far. Will search some more after the storms pass. Farrier will be here Monday.
Been thinking a lot about MRRing today. Perhaps tonight will bring some much needed train room time.
Cheers! Rob

I can't get a "maryjane card" in this state. ANd if I could, I couldn't smoke it anyway...my lungs are too damaged. And so the only way I could take it is in pill form If it's available taht way and allowed or rather when allowed in this state.
I know how addictive pain meds can be, but I find I need something to help with the pain, and ibuprofen isn't it. Nor does the EStim work either {electrical stimulation}.
Evening, Flo - Yummy, I see somebody got a cake for WisconsinRailfan's birthday!
I'll have a Santa Fe mug of coffee and a slice of that, please. Thanks! So, W-R, how'd the birthday celebration go?
Garry, I'll let you in on a little secret - those YouTube videos have this button where you can stop and start them. Gives you pause, eh? That was actually how I saw that there was a back door and some small 'porch' on the back of that car. Now, taking a still of it and enlarging it, I maybe could've told ya more, but this ain't no CSI show where we have that fancy software...
Oh, speaking of it being hot, we in Missouri are expecting a major heat wave next week - temps in the daytime around 95-100 (F) with humidity about equal to that. Luckily, I'm mostly out of the office next week, so I will be hibernating in the A/C somewhere - maybe visit these guys:
Duke, some nice photos of the Parkway. Yeah, another reason why it'll be simpler for me to be modeling the Southwest - easier to add some cacti and a lot of sand, tumbleweeds, etc. than a whole lotta leafy trees. But I actually like the Western RR's (my preference) better, which is more the reason I model the area I picked. Hey, one question: I notice that your CFO is looking at the camera, but she's smiling! Was somebody other than you taking the pic? (Just razzin' you...)
Well, Diners, I told Flo that if the chef plays his cards right, we could have a new sandwich on the menu for lunch. I'd seen a news article that - after years of Missouri's prairie chicken population dwindling, apparently they are importing prairie chickens to an area where the Dept. of Natural Resources or such has been trying to restore prairies. So we could have them 'import' some prairie chickens for the Diner, I figure. (This is true (<- see link) I couldn't make up this kind of stuff! )
Not sure if my body is trying to turn me into an ORF early (before I actually can retire) or not, but I was tired this afternoon. Wound up taking a bit of a (couple/three hours), and the pager didn't go off. (Thank Heaven!) It's been a good day today, except for the weather.
I'll be at the window booth a while; trying to put what rolling stock I do have into a sorta-kinda-database of MRR stuff I've started. Prayers will continue for those in need of healing, comfort, and good A/C.
Blessings,
Good evening folks.
A totally nonproductive day here. I think I may be coming down with a bug of some kind...spent a good part of the day feeling like I'm freezing, even though it's around 80 in here. Also, I'm totally devoid of energy. I may try later to make it out to the back yard (not been able to do that since I came home in May) , just to be able to say I accomplished that.
JimRCGMO Zan, I was kind thinking to myself that it had been a little since you were by the Diner. Careful about that accumulating those 'small orders'... they can mount up and suddenly you find that although your layout's only about 30-40square feet, you have enough buildings and ideas to cover about 3000 square feet. Any plan to show us yet (or did I sleep through that one...)?

Jim: Yeah, I've not been around much lately...playinig pseudo-grandpa has turned into a full time job...LOL.
I hear ya on the excessive accumulation thing....been there and done that back in my HO days. 30-40 square feet? I sooooooo wish. I'll be lucky to have half that. I'm just accumulating stuff that I'll very likely want to use regardless of the size layout I end up with. There's a very real chance we'll be taking another big income hit soon....wife may be going on disability. I'm mainly trying to accumulate some stuff while it's somewhat affordable (with wife's approval). You're right about it mounting up though I still have a big preemptive purchase coming up...the DCC ststem and getting decoders in 5-6 locomotives.
On the plan front, no, you have not missed it. I have something worked up with a footprint of 66"x36", that I think I can live with. The question is, can I make something that size work in my small bedroom. I think it will, but until I can cut a sheet of foam to trial fit and maneuver (it has to be stowable/portable), I won't know. My hopeful backyard trip is a first step in working toward doing that foam cutting...I'd get shot if I did that in the house again. If it won't fit, I'm not sure what I'll do. Besides jinxing it before I have a certain fit, the other reason I'm hesitant to put it out there is that it's embarassingly simple. The small space combined with the larger radii curves for the passenger cars, and to some extent the Unitrack limitations, leave little wiggle room.
Reality...an interesting concept with no successful applications, that should always be accompanied by a "Do not try this at home" warning.
Hundreds of years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...But the world may be different because I did something so bafflingly crazy that my ruins become a tourist attraction.
"Oooh...ahhhh...that's how this all starts...but then there's running...and screaming..."
Thanks all for the birthday wishes! The cake and pecan pie is over on the table. I got to go on $50 shopping spree at the hobby shop, $50 gift card for Amazon and a Nikon S4000 which I had mentioned a few times, I have a Nikon D60 - but wanted a new pocket camera. It was a great Birthday, also worked on the next step of diorama, will be posting pictures soon.

Welp. I had an interesting day today--I got about half way through my shift at w**k when I got a phone call telling me that Audrey ended up in the hospital. She had been doing some walking around and apparently got hit by a car--driver dweeb not paying any attention hit her while she was crossing the street. She is out of the hospital resting at home with me--ended up with a badly sprained leg and broken wrist. The police determined that the driver was just plain ol' inattentive He was talking to someone on a cellphone and making an improper turn as well--- We are basically fuming about drivers who do not PAY ATTENTION to their environment!!! Too busy talking on the cellphone---AGAIN!!! GRRRRR!!!----
Will see everyone at the new diner soon---
