I really love those TEE trains... Here's another one, of Swiss origin again:
Michael
The Breitenbach - Rosenheim Railroad V3
One more:
...and an overview picture:
The second train of the day is a Swiss TEE that normally doesn't belong on German tracks but I'll just ignore the prototype in this case and run it anyway because it's so pretty:
I added another train again this morning:
Here comes the afternoon commuter train:
During my lunch break I added track for another train:
And here's an overview of what we have so far:
Another day, another train:
Today turns out to be a productive day for me. I added another parking spot, this time for a passenger train with an electric E10 locomotive at the front:
I've added track for another freight train, pulled by an E75 electric locomotive.
First new train today is a nice German coal train pulled by a class 44 steam engine:
The second track of the day:
I've added another staging track for a short freight train:
And one more train for today:
I added a spot for the Trans Europe Express :
I added another staging track. The train is the one my wife gave me as a birthday gift this year.
They sure are pretty trains, looking forward to future updates
There's one more train for today:
Added another track for another beautiful train:
I've doubled the capacity of my staging yard. That's a class 45 steam locomotive pulling 25 freight cars.
Making sure it all fits:
I'm sure glad that this curve is hidden from view (19" radius)!
I've added the first 12' of staging track:
I've installed the turnouts at the end of the staging yard:
Today is the day!
I've laid the first few pieces of track:
Today I have sorted through my H0 track, most of it left over from the last attempt, some of it from a layout I built in Germany in 2006.
On the left is the ROCO track from the old layout and some Atlas track that I bought a few years ago. This track will be used in tunnels where it doesn't matter how it looks.
In the center I have all my PIKO track that I will use for the staging yards. PIKO track is reliable and relatively inexpensive but as it's only available in code 100 it can't be used in the visible parts of the layout.
Finally, on the right is my supply of TILLIG Elite code 83 track that will be used for the visible parts of the layout. I like the looks of this track very much and it's easy to work with as well.
The sky is all blue again, all traces of the old N scale mountain range are gone.
I still can't do any fine work with my mismatched eyes but luckily there's no precision needed in painting the backdrop with primer:
SouthPenn Your excellent planning with the wide aisles is really paying off now that you need to widen some of your benchwork.

Yes, even now I'm still wider than 3'. Can't beat space !
I'm a little slow right now. I've had cataract surgery on my right eye a good week ago, the left eye will be done on the 21st. I now have the interesting condition of a very nearsighted left eye with a cataract disturbing the view and a farsighted right eye. It makes for interesting headaches and bad vision close up. Can't wait for the second eye to get fixed and new glasses!
Still I've somehow managed to do a little bit of work on the layout. I couldn't lay track with this condition but benchwork stuff is possible:
My favorite mailman was here again and delivered some nice passenger cars:
