I've added a staging track for another long passenger train. Now there's only one missing, then the staging yard will be complete!

The Breitenbach - Rosenheim Railroad V3
The last staging track is in place. Unfortunately I've completely run out of freight AND passenger cars so instead of the long train that would normally be parked here I unpacked a very short one:
As a test I have placed the turnouts that will be at the end of the yard:
Before I start working on the visible layout I did some finetuning of the plan. Small changes all that I believe are an improvement. Here's the new plan:
Again, here's a larger version: http://www.gamrailroad.com/images/BRIII/2018/Rosenheim%2012_8.pdf
There's not much going on right now, I'm too busy work wise. Still, I've made some adjustments to the track plan again:
looks like a great plan
I cut a gap into the background to gain access to the tunnel track that will soon be installed in this area:
I waited as long as I could but this morning I finally removed the N scale east staging yard. Now there is no way back...
The N scale return loop radius is to tight for H0 so it had to go:
Here comes the lower return loop that will lead to the visible part of the layout:
Today I finally started to work on the visible part of the layout:
I've started to cut out some subroadbed. The curve radius is 8m (26' 3").
This part of the subroadbed is now up on risers, even if it's only 20mm above the benchwork:
I've cut out more subroadbed on the other end as well:
I've started working on the ramp to the Bad Adomeit station:
The hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico is sending rain bands over Central Florida so you don't really know when the weather will allow you to work outside. So when I saw sunshine after my lunch I decided to take a short break from work and cut the three sheets of plywood that will form the base for the Bad Adomeit station:
Will you be adding catinary for your electric locomotives?
SouthPenn Will you be adding catinary for your electric locomotives?
Yes !
I have started to add the second layer of roadbed:
During my lunch break I painted the roadbed as far as I have it installed. Now I can lay the first track that will be part of the visible layout!
Before I can lay track in the visible area I have to finish the staging yard first:
I didn't get it all done today but there is always tomorrow.
It's done! The staging yard is complete!
Here's the transition from the PIKO code 100 to the more prototypical Tillig code 83 track. Also, as this is the border to the next power district, all rails have insulators:
Michael,
I was browsing the forum and came across one of your comments in another thread. "He's back!", i said to my wife after finding this thread. Several months out of the loop but very excited to get up to speed on your new layout. I know nothing about German prototype but I'm looking forward to watching your progress. Very cool indeed!

tedtedderson "He's back!"
Oh yes, I am !
I'm out of the tunnel. That's so much fun!
I laid a few more feet of track today:
I had to at least check how a train will look on the new main line:
The mainline is slowly getting longer:
The mainline has reached the next tunnel and the ramp that leads to the Bad Adomeit station:
At some point I will have to make buildings and one of the main features of buildings in Germany are the tiled roofs. So I spent a few hours today to figure out greyscales and laser settings to get my laser to engrave a halfway convincing pattern. This is what it looks like so far. It will need some improvement but I think I can work with this:
I fired up the laser this morning and produced a few pieces of roadbed so I could get started on the Bad Adomeit station. It's about halfway done:
I kept working yesterday late afternoon until I reached the other end of the Bad Adomeit station:
I hated the idea of putting plywood on the already laid track but there was no other way to do it. Hopefully nothing will get damaged...
