I've added more turnouts and some additional track:
Michael
The Breitenbach - Rosenheim Railroad V3
Now that I have reached the station it's slow going because of all the turnouts. Installing turnouts right is critical for flawless running later so I'm taking my time and test every turnout extensively. I also do not trust the rail connections the manufacturer made and so I'm feeding several rails with wires from below. All that takes time and time but it's worth it. Still, so far it looks good:
The mainline has made it all the way to the station:
Sir Madog I enjoy it very much being able to watch the progress of your wonderful layout. Don´t let the rather small number of replies discourage you from continuing to post. Should you need some background info on German trains - don´t hesitate to contact me!

Ulrich,
Don't worry, I'll keep posting. And thanks for the offer, I'll remember you if I need help!
I agree, I've loved watching your progress. Please keep up the posts!
Some pre-turkey progress:
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
More track, more train!
I'm slowly getting used to laying H0 track again!
Track laying has started!
It took a little under an hour to paint and seal all of the roadbed. That means that I will start laying track tomorrow !
It's complete !
I worked my way over to the north end of the station. I should be able to finish the roadbed work in this area by tomorrow.
The station area is a lot of work! I've started from the south end and worked my way through the first 16 turnouts:
The branch line has the second layer now as well. Next will be the station, and for this the laser has been running all day long. There are about 12 laser hours needed to engrave and cut all the roadbed for the station but I'm about halfway through so that I can start to work on this area tomorrow morning.
wickman This is really going well for you.
This is really going well for you.
...and I'm having a lot of fun !

The 2 layer approach works real well with turnouts. I've drilled pretty big holes through the first layer and the plywood first:
The second layer gets a small slit just wide enough for the switch machine wire. Because taskboard is a cardboard like product it's easy to cut the slit with a hobby knife:
With the turnouts on top you can barely see the opening:
I've completed the first layer of roadbed for the station, it's all glued in place:
The mainline ramp leading into the station now has the second layer applied as well:
I've almost completed the station area. These large pieces need some weights to make sure they are completely flat. Luckily I still have all those batteries sitting around!
Because I have to wait 15 minutes every time I glue down 2 of the large pieces I started with the second layer of roadbed in the ramp area:
I glued down more road bed during part of my lunch break:
When I walked into my office this morning I couldn't resist... and went straight to the railroad to glue down at least a few pieces of roadbed just to see how it would look. Because all the pieces are numbered it goes real fast and by reusing the existing holes for the push pins every piece ends up exactly in the position it was in before.
The last piece of plywood for the Rosenheim station is up!
One of the reasons I miss N scale is that I never needed access hatches but in H0 I do! So I made one and put it in place:
Some progress during the day:
hon30critter "Slow progress"??? Your kidding - right? You are making amazing progress! Dave

Dave
Seems slow to me!
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
I added another 8' today. I'm sorry for the slow progress but there are too many business and family things going on right now so I only have little time for the railroad.
I added 8 feet each to both ramps:
Bis I am enjoying your post so much. Your layout is going to be outstanding. I am checking my tablet several times a day to see if you have posted more updates. Keep up the good work. Ken

Ken, I'm enjoying this a lot, it's so much fun to build this layout! And if other people like it as well that makes it so much better !
