Good morning all, hope everyone is having a great day.

In the last half hour we went from 54 to 60. Blue skys no clouds. Great day for working outdoors. Killed the weeds, Have a small patch in back corner behind shed. Starting to look like a yard again. Dog is happy. He is 45lb lab and ????? Great size awesome dog.

Curmudgeon, being it is only a one year lease, where is it going after the year? Your name is Dave ??? and what is a TOC?? Sorry if I should know, just don't.

John, Tim is having a great time here, always have. Been really fun here. What part of the world are you in ??? [:)]

Ben, way to go on the lawn, yes Virginia, spring could be coming to the US. Not sure yet, rumors of more rain for SoCal, but it could be.

Gotta go get some coffee, and a smoothie.

Take care guys and gals,

[#welcome] to Mike and Lynn, have a coffee or smoothie on me. Actually Curmudgeon started the page, he is buying. [8D][8D][8D]

Ah spring! I cut my grass last night, checked on the tulip and Iris blooms, smelled the daisies, and cleaned the fish pond. Tonight I'm killing unauthorized plant life on the right of way and doing a good yard clean up. This weekend it'll be time to look under the pool cover and see what's going on in there.

Took my '71 Triumph Tiger out for some exercise and profiled my new riding gear (I say, wasn't that................Mike Halewood?). Warm breezes, fresh flowers and the smell of new Dunlops burning out on asphalt. Ah yes, spring is here at last.

Yes, Tim, it is awesome to be living in Virginia.[8D]

TJ oh to ride in a real car. 71 Tiger ???? Way cool....haven't seen one of those in years. Hope you had on shades so you were cool also. [8D][8D]

Going over to another church member's house this weekend and help them clean up the backyard. She got a notice from the city, so our bible study group did duty a few weekends ago, and are finishing this weekend. She has 1/2 acre of 4-6 foot tall weeds. What a layout I could build on her property.

Mine is mowed, and weeds are killed, now just need to work on fence and retaining wall. Also will tear up backyard and reslope away from house. That will fix flooding problem. Need an underground pipe for water, and ta da, I will be ready for railroad.

Love spring if it stays. Now we are getting 20-30 MPH winds, with gusts up to 50.

Where did our SoCal weather go ?

Hey Tim! Hope the wind doesn't blow you away! I've yet to get started in earnest on my new trackage, just been so busy lately. I did manage to mark out the route with some spray paint and get a good overview of the project. Should be a lot of fun once I start laying all that track that I have just sitting on the kitchen counter.

My Triumph is actualy a motorcycle, and yes, I do look way cool upon the saddle of the beast. I have my knee high Doc Marten boots, gauntlet gloves and Davida "pudding bowl" helmet with aviator goggles. I am one handsome dude................[^]

I did some tranny work over the winter and replaced the clutches so I took it out to give it a good test run. Going by the mall, up on one wheel, Dunstall pipes screaming, while riding a 34 year old Brit bike is hard to beat for a true kick in the pants thrill, good thing the cop didn't see that one. But you know, sometimes you just gotta let the tiger free...........................

Can start planning to fini***he outdoor work I had expected to do this last winter before all the $%#^ rain fell for 4 months straight! Gonna be a busy spring!

Bens pics are great. Congrats on two stars Ben. [4:-)][4:-)]

Vic I am mowing today, making front look good, back managable. Watched my G go in circles, someday it will do more. Same with the O. Although it goes in squares.

Getting another HO engine today, $40 for a steam, don't know what kind yet, and another DD45. That will give me 3, hopefully I will convert 1 or 2 to DCC.

Underworld, stay warm, keep up on spring weather.

82 today guys, what a day for lawn work. [8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]

Take care all

Well yesterday I logged onto AOL to find that I was high bidder on an engine I bid on Evilbay. One it arrrives I will be the proud owner of an LGB Chloe, which is the ONE engine I have wanted for years now. I honestly didnt think I would win it as the bugger's usually get top price even on Evilbay. Hope it gets here soon.

One a sadder note I have decided to scrap the older Aristo FA1 I have, although I plan to try and cut it in half and create a more whimiscle engine out of the front part of it, an FA 1/2 so to speak. That and I decided to scrap one of my older Big Haulers that has finally given up the ghost and stopped running. Oh well, I really need the parts for other projects.[8D]

Yeah, what happened to spring???????????? Yesterday was in the mid 70's, very nice blue sky, I was out laying track (finaly!) and having a great time, now today it's barely 50 and windy. Almost got blown off my motorcycle going to church this morning. Oh well, such is spring..................

Spring??? What's that???

Just 140 miles up the beach from Jack and yesterday heavy rains all day with strong 30 - 45 mph Easterly winds, today blowing 25 - 45 out of NW and barely 45 degrees F.

Still waiting for a day to get started on getting RR in shape, probably gonna have to waste a good day cutting grass when one finally gets here!

Walked in the back yard today wearing a light jacket, and only sunk in and inch or so where the grass was not still covered with snow or our vernal pool. Spring is usually 40’s and 50’s F. and mud around here. So it must really be spring now.
Thank you, Jaime

Hi everyone. I'm Mike Johansen from Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. My wife and I are new to garden railroading. I myself have been a model railroader for many years in HO scale. As some of you already know we bought a 'G' scale train off of ebay. Not too bad, a New Bright. Yeah I know. Thanks for the helpful advice. We now have some solid brass LGB track on the way. and on Friday we picked up a Lionel Thomas the Tank engine set that my wife wanted so she could set it up for our grand daughter. Uses G scale track. Sounds a little off, but what the hey, as long as she's happy.
That's about all for now, it's 3:50AM and time for some shut eye. Probably be a few days before I check in again as I work night shift on the road as a truck driver.
