MATT
You got beyond the "seven year itch". By current statistice you have beaten the odds against having a successful marriage. (we just passed our 37th, and it gets better each year! ) Enjoy your anniversery and treat that young lady right!

Hey all!

Congrats, Matt! 11 years, wow! Hope my marriage is as sucessful. Bummer about your dad, hope he feels better soon.

Havent' seen War of the World yet. I want to because I got to drive a HMMWV in the movie. I want to see if I ended up on the big screen or the cutting room floor. A good portion of the movie was filmed in VA. I did see Charlie and the Chocolate factory on the IMAX. Great movie! Lots of cool stuff in it, but Tim Burton was probably not the best choice of director, it did have a darker feel than the original, but not too heavy and the humor was just great! Depp gave Willy Wonka a sort of Michael Jackson feel, but it worked, and to see the special effects close-up on IMAX 6 story tall screen was pretty cool. Oompa Loompas rule!

Hi Ben,

HOT HOT Here, 90's humidity not to horrible but later this week they say, look out![xx(]

Went to go see "The Wedding Crashers" last weekend, If you liked "Old School" you will like this one, verrrrrry funny![:D]

Torby, one can't GO nuts when one is already there.

Mat, Rapid City is South of Minneapolis ( about 50 miles) so we would be going South.

Hey O.D. -

I haven't been around too much this spring either. I hope you and the Misses are doing well. Unfortunately we missed the group kickoff. Did you make it? It sounded like a fun time.

I'd like to bring the boys to a few open houses this summer but not sure how it will work out. Geri and I are writing for a travel Web site and are out of town many weekends. I doub't I'll even get to laying any track before winter! Now there's a sobering thought. [:(]

I hope to see you around before you "fly south." Have a good rest of spring and we'll see you around.

Hey everybody! Welcome back, Tim!!! I've been very busy this week in preparation for a long field exercise, so I haven't been active much on the forum. I will be leaving Saturday and not back for about 2 weeks. There are a lot of things to do to prep the house and garden/pool for being gone for that amount of time. To make matters more complicated, the contractors have shown up to start work on my house addition. I came home yesterday to find the porch and front siding gone. Would have been nice if they called ahead to let me know.

I haven't done much on the RR in the last 2 weeks or so, I'm just enjoying it right now. When I get back I have a project or two to work on, I'll be sure to post some pics. The weather is now in the 3H phase- Hazy Hot and Humid. Mostly around mid 80's with 80% plus humidity, so I limit the amount of heavy work during these summer months. I am mostly planning on putting up some buildings and reworking some of the landscaping in the original RR area to bring it up to my current standards and also to incorporate some of the things I've seen on this forum that I liked.

Take care all!!

Good morning all, hope everyone is doing well. Lots of cloud cover today, should be cooler, its been in the 70s this week so far.

Here in San Diego, our county fair is getting ready to start this friday. Lots of controversary as they are bunning all guns even for law enforcement and FBI folks.

My dad went on Curmudgeons sub last week, said it looked cool. Its docked right next to the ship from Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Two different worlds there.

NO more floods, and grass is green, getting greener. Love the beginning of summer.

Hope everyone is in great health.

Ben,

Gerry and I have been visiting with the grandkids for the last month or so. We're back now and are facing all that deferred maintenance, who knows, maybe I can squeeze in a little train time too.
