Yes been the pics arrived, haven't wrote back yet. Sorry.

Been popping in for a few minutes then finishing my work online. Also with the kids off this next two weeks, we are doing a lot here.

They look great, but will right more privately.

Take care

Boy when you find a craftsman who takes pride in his work these days, just hand him your checkbook and hope there's enough in there to keep him happy; that's the only way to get a real quality job these days. Thank heaven we have a friend down the road who is a finish carpenter who does take pride in his work, I cried when his wife had the woodwork in thier house painted! At least I can get work done nicely on a T&M basis(and throw in a couple of brewskis when its all over).

The way the designer is talking, the roof's gotta go (cut off and lifted) and 10ft added to the end of the house. Uh, ok, I said, can I still live in the house while this is going on? "Uh, umm, eerr," says the architect; "sure no problem" says the PM; "don't be silly you" said the designer, "no way " says my common sense. Yeah, no fun right now, but I'm keeping my focus on the finished product. I figure go through the pain now, spend a little extra and you don't have to worry about doing it again in the future. Cool part is that going up doesn't interfere with the garden or the RR.

TJ, I just got back from Lowes picking up tile and Paint with the wife for our bathroom. Trying to get a bunch of stuff done before graduation of our daughter 2nd down from the top 3rd up from the bottom.

And it stinks, home improvement is no fun when you do every day, even on your own home.

You need to come and work for me, I get your turn key estimate and pay up front. Then it's on you to finish in time before I can stop payment on the check. [(-D]

So far I've spent about a grand on architects, designers, bribes (oops, I mean building permits). I'm not having much fun picking out sinks and flooring with the wife to be, she is almost too easy to please (BTW, Tim, I met her at a coffee shop!) and I don't know one floral pattern from the next. I still have a couple of pages of checklist to go through before the construction can actually begin. Shoot man, the operation order for D-day was only 5 pages long!

Oh well, it's still a better investment than a Hummer (and slightly cheaper too!)

TJ, the job goes great! It's the getting the final draw that's the problem! It seems they get what they wanted but then drag out final payment.

Vic, it poured here last night, but trenches are working wet ground but no standing water.

AJ have a big drink on all of us. Tough day, hope tomorrow is better. Your crew must be old, my house was made 45 years ago, and the same crew put the sliding glass door inside out. [banghead][banghead]

Matt, have to post some pics of the work you have done.

Hans, glad the snow is bring positive stuff somewhere.

How you doing Ben, hope all is going great for you.

Take care all

Matt,
Speaking of not getting paid I just fired the "Carpenters" and I use the term loosly, from my site. The company that we were using hired some crews from South of your border.
My weekend was shot due to the fact that they installed all the kitchen upper cabinets...
are you ready,.......upside down..[V][V]..6 sets of them in all. plus they cut out the stove vents. Needless tyo say they are not usable..

I need a drink................................[X-)][X-)][censored][censored]

Al,

Say what!?!

March Break arrived in BC, as a treat we received fresh snow on the mountain, about 15cm since Friday.
The arrivals from the WetCoast and the Island just can't believe our skiing conditions, neither could the people from "Back East" (aka Ontario) last week.

Nor can the guys from South of the Border (Washington, Oregon etc.), I know some people from the Spokane area have made the trip North almost every weekend to get some decent training conditions.

Wellllllllll we just count our blessings and keep XC skiing. [;)][}:)][:)][:D][:D]

Check it out! Sorry no night skiing tonight.
Cheers HJ http://www.rhb-grischun.ca/ http://www.easternmountainmodels.com

Tim, I'm at home today working in the shop, finishing some cabinet doors for a job. building another cabinet for a capachino machine. I had along weekend, wife and the little girls went to visit friends for the weekend so I jumped on my hall bath with a vengence in terms of remodel, almost as though I participated in While You Were Out. ( I hate that show). I Just wish some people would pay me for the work I've done[:(!]!!!!! It might keep me from going to the ECLSTS!

Hey Tim

We only got the heavy stuff on Friday, light rain rest of the time Saturday, just enought to screw up any outdoor activity. Sunday was great, even if I was stuck doing yardwork. Looking forward to the time change, I get my evening work hours back. Beleive it or not those weekday evenings are when I get most things done outside. Gotta start doing the Home Depot shuttle on the way home for building supplies!

Busy weekend!

After getting rained out on Friday and Saturday, I got a good day on Sunday, cleared out the front yard so it no longer looks the Al Bundy residence, even got to widen the walkway with some concrete pavers, something I was just starting when all this bleeding rain started. Backyard is next!

So true captain, so true.

It is sooooooo green around here, we look like Washington State. Which means some dumb hunter will probably set a forest fire when he gets lost.

But it is very pretty. Nice that everything is green instead of brown.

How are things in Delaware?

Take Care,

Tim

Turbo,
It takes the rain to grow the brush so that you can have the forest fires. Indeed, he does work in mysterious ways!

Welcome back AJ, how are things up in the great white north?

It not that our rain compares to your snow, we just ain't built for it. Heavy rains were late Feb. and we have whole condo complex getting ready to slide down the side of a mountain. Floods all over, huge sink holes, we are a desert that is acting like the rain forest. Where you can survive, we need sun, sun and more sun. [8D][8D][8D][8D]

Take care AJ,

Best part Vic, the weed come out easier.

Yup, a long winter for SoCal. Did find a silver lining, my water bill is way down, and the grass is very green. Front yard is picked free of weeds, so just grass. Maybe I should run train in front yard. No water problems up there.

Stay safe y'all
