I am however, very pleased with the result. Over the course of the entire layout, I expect I will probably spend an extra $100-150 for great ballast as compared to kitty litter or some other product. Since the track is a focal point, I consider this a worthy investment.

Frank, are using 50 pound bags of ballast or something!!!!??? LOL!!!!   24 feet on a bag of ballast? I can barley ballast 2 sections of 027 with a 18 cu. inch. bag, guess I need to get a bigger bag.

Yes, I like the locomotives in the "Trains" section. Any idea of adding tmcc convention control to the layout? Big Smile [:D] Wink [;)] Wink [;)] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Big Smile [:D] Laugh [(-D]

And, I really like your train roster, especially the explanations on them, do you know when you will be finished with all of them?

I expect not more than a week or two and I should have all of the pages in "The Trains" section complete. The balance of the site will be complete when I finish my layout. I am hoping they are somewhat concurrent events, as I would welcome the opportunity to park my butt in the train room and watch these old classics go round and round while I enjoy a cop o' joe and a Kool, although by that point, I may have taken up pipe smoking.

Frank, I know what you are saying from working on my one time website years ago back in my artist days.

But very professional and good job. Absolutely first rate.

Times change, but I agree that tubular track is everybit as good as anything else considering the price. But now YOUR time is going to get more divided between working on the website and working on the railroad.

Frank, I am originally from Bogota, NJ (right next to Hackensack).  I went through Perth Amboy frequently.  It has plenty of industry to model.  Also, I recall a huge scrap yard that had many old locomotives, RR cars, etc that were being disassembled.  I have photos somewhere...probably in my parent's house.  Keep up the good work,

Dennis

Way to go, Frank!  I love the design of the site!  Very classy!  It's obvious that you've put a lot of effort into the overall look, which is very important.  There are a lot of sites out there that have good information and pictures, but extremely boring designs.  I can't wait to see what you'll do with it in the future.  It's always great to see another site for those of us who are enamored with the trains of yesteryear.

What a great idea - I think I'll start by raffling off a piece of FasTrack!

Thanks for all the gracious comments. It has a long way to go. If I can complete a few pages every now and then, it'll be a start. If I can keep it going through the entire layout process I hope it will be an interesting chronology.
