I've decided to burn a vaca day and head up on Friday... That will leave Saturday for a trip to State College, PA for the annual Blue/White game and maybe take in the PSU Baseball team game in the new baseball stadium...

Anyway, are we meeting this year?  If so who it organizing?

Grits are only reserved for our Southern Brethern... who are required by law to provide said grits... since Northerners do not eat grits, again by law - and an unpardonable offense, we can not divulge what is done with said grits once our Southern Brethern depart.

Don should be there from what I have read of his postings. Mike (mssaco) may also be at York - maybe he will join us?

I definetly will be there, I think!

Got this email from Cheap Rooms . com yesterday.  "There has been a change in your flight arrangements, please call our customer service department as soon as possible.  800 xxx xxxx option 4."

Ok, called.... spent 37 minutes on hold waiting for a person to come on the phone.  Finally, they did and wanted to know How they could help me.  So I explained the email, and they called up the information.  OK here it is: The return flight is scheduled to depart Baltimore on Tuesday the 24th at 7:00 pm, arriving in LA at 9:30 pm.  (Want to see Strausburg and Gettysburg while I'm there).  So the Change is ---  The return flight will be departing at 6:57 pm INSTEAD, and arriving in LA at 9:25 pm!   I couldn't believe it!  I spent almost 40 minutes on hold to find this out!! Banged Head [banghead]

And then.... they of course wanted to know if there was anything else they could do for me, so I thought I would just confirm the reservations for the car.  (I made all these reservations last October.)  So they said no problem, you have a car reserved for 1 week begining October 17th, 2006 !  In an effort to try and explain we were not able to communicate to well, and it was suggested I might want to confirm directly with the rental agency.  So I did of course, and everything was fine, they showed the dates corresponding with the flights.  Whew !!!!  What a relief !!

As far as meeting whatever works great for me !

Don,
Was going to say you would be set for the October meet, but that would mean you would have missed your car reservation!  Wasn't it nice to waste 40 minutes to find out you get home 5 minutes early?  LOL!

Can't wait to meet the 'extended' group!

When we had our Harrisburg meeting I thought Mitch was appointed to pick a spot for Lunch on Friday.  We should probably meet at the CTT booth and then head out to lunch.  Where is Mitch?  I don't have his email so can't contact him directly.

Mitch are you out there?

Been pretty busy and missed this thread.  I am not sure about a place for lunch.  Seems like Friday would be a good day.  Let me do some research and I'll post something later in the week.  I know we'll want someplace fairly close to the fairgrounds.  How about if we meet for a photo at CTT at 1:00 as usual and then get some lunch?

In the Fall I grabbed a pit roast beast sandwich and some fries at the cart across from the Orange Hall.  It was great.  Not too expensive either.  What do you think?  Or do we want to find a place to sit down?  The weather could be a deciding factor. I've never eaten in the cafeteria type place over by the Black Hall. Is it any good?

I the cafeteria is anything like the 1970s - 1980s HoJos on the PA Turnpike, we would be better off having Laz scrape some roadkill off the road on his way in and having our own B-B-Q!  LOL!

Speaking of which, is tailgating permitted in the fairgrounds parking lots?  That could be an option if it is permitted.

1:00 on Friday at CTT sounds good to me.  There are a ton of restaurants along Rt 30 within easy driving distance if you guys want to do a sit down.  They park a lot of RVs on the Fair Grounds so I'm thinking tailgating would be OK but then I have never seen anyone do it and there may be a rule against it since they have venders all over.  Open for suggestions.  Maybe CTT would like to buy us all lunch.

Brent,  It looks like no one is objecting to us getting together at 1:00 on Friday.  If you haven't found the CTT location by then, here is your guide.  There are two main entrance doors to the Orange Hall, go in the left door and go straight to the back of the hall.  This should put you in front of the MTH booth, just hang a left and CTT is the next booth, just an aisle to the exit between them.  BTW if you bring a camera, make it a pocket one as they do not allow pictues inside any of the buildings.  We have to go outside to get a group pic.
