Hi GIZ,

Hope all had a nice CHRISTMAS?  I did had my SIS and BIL make a guest apperance on CHRISTMAS EVE.  No none knew except my MOM, really pulled a fast one on us.  GREAT time was had by all, lots o laughs and eats and beverages.   I came back early today cause the last two days there was unfit for flintlock hunting.  But great for eating and catching up on things.  Maybe tomorrow for hunting?

Ran trains foe 2.5 hours all good NO PILE UPS.  WIFE got me a MTH crossing gate I put up really cool but not scale, I love it flashes when the train ackuates it really neat.  She also got me some great pewter people.

  B SAFE.

Hey Laz--

Can your bear play the tuba? I know where I can borrow one!! A trumpet & a tuba leading the big parade, what a sight, only one thing missing......... a beautiful baton twirler from The OSU Marching Band!

This just gets better by the minute.

And here I thought Californey was the place for those nasty ol' Yuppy style pizzas, I am strictly a traditionalist: Sausage or Pepperoni w/extra cheese. If I really feel adventurous I'll opt for a Chicago style Deep Dish with the same goodies. When I make 'em at home I use a focacia bread recipe. Dinner [dinner]

Off to the museum tomorrow, hope it's not as crowded as it was on wednesday.

That funny color train sounds as if would be a California Special. Whistling [:-^]

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL

Hope all had a good one. Mine will be now that we calmed down from yesterdays intrusion. I didn't post here but will now show you what is left of my front porch after a handicap gentleman got his foot stuck under the brake and on the gas in reverse.

Thankgoodness that nobody got hurt the porch and all can get replaced. The guy almost hit a kid also but the kids grandfather grab him out of the way just in time.

Hope all have a good holiday were getting ready for Christmas dinner so will talk to you all later.

RT, sorry to hear about all the damage.  Glad no one was hurt.  It can all be repaired and look at all the memories you got.

Good evening everyone,

I have been having a little bit more pain than usual. I think the main reason is because when I get up, all the blood in my knee goes down to my foot and shin. It does hurt a lot when I first get up, but after a few minutes it goes away. I saw my surgeon this morning, and he likes what he sees. I get the stitches out next week. I have to wear the brace for a few more weeks especially since I'm going to school, where endless accidents could happen.

Csx, thats great news.....how the Trans Am? My neighbor has a WS6 version, and he loves it. His brother has a 1989 Trans Am and a Roush Mustang. I'm not a big fan of Ford's but his Mustang is nice.

Prayers to anyone that needs them. Have a good evening everyone.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]Sign - Ditto [#ditto]  I'll say !!!

I finally have a Legacy Control System !!  (That's the good news)

Hopefully I'll be able to try it out in a week or so, that's the Bad news.  Working on the wiring and want to make sure I get it working the way it should BEFORE I introduce another variable.

Did physical inventory today, fortunately got it done.  Tomorrow have to prepare year end reports and pay bills.

Have a good day!  And Safe Weekend !!!

Good morning from New England!

Mild and clear today. Looking forward to another 4 day weekend.

Don - Congrats on getting your Legacy! Bout freakin time!

Had a great time with the kids last night. Julia read to me from her American girl book. She's a very good reader! Ran HO Santa Fe trains with the boys. Thinking about a layout per their request.

Got an old song stuck in my head - "When the swallows come back to Capistrano". Weird!

Time for breakfast.

Morning fellas...

Jim, get Julia 'The Dangerous Book for Girls'.  Susan bought me 'The Dangerous Book for Boys' for Christmas and it is awesome - not sure I recommend for Thing 1 and Thing 2 as it tells how to make a sling shot and bolero! Shock [:O]

I have decided to forego the Christmas layout and just start with the big layout.  Susan informed me that the family room will not be configured the way it is next year because we will most likely be buying an entertainment center and new DLC TV! Thumbs Up [tup] So that means there will be less room for a layout under the tree... no biggie I'll just have to wind it around the entertainment center, infront of the bookcases and fireplace, behind the sofa and reading chair, then along the entry step... Thumbs Up [tup] I may even be able to make a tunnel out of the entry step! Shock [:O] Bet that will make her happy! Laugh [(-D]Mischief [:-,]Pirate [oX)]

Buckeye & Laz - I'm sure your ears have been ringing... on Christmas I gave Susan her new skipants, I got the wrong size (too small) and her brother asked why I didn't get the bib pants! Shock [:O] She wanted to know what bib pants were so we explained that they looked similiar to rubber hip waders used for fishing - they just don't have boots attached to them... she gave me the Mischief [:-,] look and I said it was Laz's and Buckeye's recommendation. Then everyone had to know who Laz and Buckeye are... told them Laz is a friend from PA who owns an 800lb bear who likes to drink beer (they wanted to know if the bear drank beer or Laz, I said, 'Yes')... Buckeye was a bit harder to explain... told them he is a friend from Ohio who's childhood picture reminds Susan of Spanky... then they asked if he still looks like that... said no, he looks like a jolly old elf... Laugh [(-D]

Morning, Brent old buddy!  I just saw 'The Dangerous Book for Boys' book online yesterday when I was looking for a pre war Lionel book. No way in he** am I going to buy it for Thing 1 and Thing 2! They are dangerous enough on their own! We came home from a night out the past 3 times to find the babysitter duct taped to a chair with socks stuffed in their mouths...they need no further training in weaponry or guerilla warfare! They are BAD boys!!! Must be from their mother's side of the family...Laugh [(-D]  Wink [;)]

Luckily for me, every thing I bought for my wife for Christmas fit perfectly. What a relief!

What's this about you working on an F3? Are you restoring one? Repainting one?

Good morning all. Back to a snowy northern Illinois from Connecticut visiting mom and relatives. 2K miles on the van in six days. Lotsa people in little house with no internet access or cable TV. LOL. Played games. Read. Talked. Got my first hydrocal kit - a burger stand - from Downtown Deco from the bride. Was really touched as she doesn't have a clue nor cares to have one about the trains so she really researched this - with the help of a good hobby store in Cedar Falls, IA. Went into NYC for a day - found big working Lionel layout on 2nd flr of NBC Store at 30 Rock.

Recommend Dangerous Boy for Boys - been going over it all year with 13 yr. old. Too old for the 5-yr old. Thought about everyone, Mel, Laz, Buckeye, Mike C driving across NY, NJ, PA, OH and IN.

Hey everybody today's the last day of my training. It's gonna be the hardest too. They call it exposure day. So when I go into work I'm gonna first get zapped by the Tazer Stun Gun. 50,000 volt to the body. Then I'll get sprayed with Pepper spray, and last thing is they fill a house with Tear Gas and I have to sit in there without a mask and find my way out. This should be fun.

Family doing good, The little guy has to have tubes put in his ears on Monday. His ears keep filling with fluid and he can't hear low tones from it.  Rest of the family is good.

Well have a happy new year.

Sounds like just another day at my house!

My daughter had severe and recurring ear infections, fluid, and hearing loss until she had the tubes installed. Now that's all behind her AND she has a much better appetite.  Good luck with your boy!

Welcome back, Dougie!

I'm going to Charles Ro tomorrow to buy a troublesome truck to repaint green, and then I'll weather it up a little. If they have a loose Annie or Clarabell, I'll buy that too and turn it into a red Sodor mail car.

Some guy on OGR turned the new Thomas Diesel into a nice rendition of a real British switcher.

Jumijo-This F3 project started because I have a decent Lionel NYC F3 dummy. Can't find a powered I'm willing to pay the going rate for as I have two newer ones. Anyway I had enough parts to make a twin motor chassis with electronic E unit. Thats ready. So the shell is painted, Dark NYC gray the decal stripes have the lite gray on them  but there is no match to the Lionel Lighting stripe that I  could find So I'm going for close. the front will match but the rear stripe goes straight to the end.

I'd love to see photos of your progress. Does the new NYC dark gray paint match up well with the dummy's color?

Morning everyone.  Hope yous giz had a great Christmas.  It was a success here in the NJDevil home.  No trains for me, though.  I did treat myself to a 671 & tender.  I was going to rip it apart and rebuild it, but the darn thing smokes like nobodys business and it runs really well.  I may just replace the whistle in the tender with one from TA or ERR.

And since Christmas is gone, 500 of my Hot Wheels go up for sale..(interested parties....Whistling [:-^])

Weeeel, now...for the interesting news of the month:

The bride and the Princess spent a week in NJ with my parents.  My Dad made sure the bride had coffee first thing in the AM and they treated her pretty well.  My Daughter always likes to be nearer to the Grandparents and the rest of the family anyway.....

SO, now she is looking for a job back in NJ!!!!   This should be very interesting in the next few months...I just need to find a job there and give up this "cushy" gig I have here.

Stay tuned...this could get very interesting (insert Arte Johnson here) Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]Banged Head [banghead]

Good morning - mailman already came and got my Thomas set.  It's the complete 31956 set except they removed the track and transformer.  Watching Kung Fu Mahjong (lowbrow HK comedy) and once it's done will go down and give Thomas a spin with daughter.  Maybe play some more Wii with son later.  I had plans to work on basement - maybe on the weekend.  I am just enjoying hanging out with the kids too much to work on my vacation!

Welcome back, Doug and glad you made it through that long drive!  Kit sounds good - they make a station I want, but if/when daughter and I can find some appropriate doors/windows I think we'll try and copy it instead using Sculpey.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Philaknight, good luck on your test!

Sir James, sounds like a good project, pics?

Rich, Good luck - hope something comes up for you fast?!

88 - We only got our Christmas layout 1/2 done due to orders from my wife.  Oh well, less to clean up now.  Still have the snow on the table and stuff - didn't look half bad.  Just needed to decorate a little tree, which I hate doing anyway.  Need to get insulation and drywall up in the play room though...  Just been a bum lately.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
