John, I got a few at Walmart (all they had at the time) and the rest at a LHS. They are Athern, 1/50 scale, Model B John Deeres. I think that is close to the right era for my 50s setting. The tie downs, my wife found at AC Moore craft store. It is Elite Better Beads elastic line. They use it to make bracelets. It has enough stretch to hold the tractors in place. I laced it though the stake pockets in one continuous piece. If you look close in the closeup you can see it going between pockets under the deck. Not very noticable. At the ends I crimped the barrel from a small wire terminal on to keep it from pulling through the stake pocket. I guess a knot would also work.
CSXect, That sounds like a fun job. I like to fool around with computer in addition to trains. Have built quite a few over the years & also did the IT at my company until the technology passed me by. When we went to new server running MS server 2003, I gave up.
Well the snow that fell yesterday and last night is mostly gone, we still have what was on the ground which is mostly ice mixed with snow.
On a sad note, our associate pastor's home caught fire last evening and the whole kitchen was destroyed. She lives in Strasburg (of RR fame) with her husband who is the pastor of the Methodist Church there. They have moved in with friends across the street until repairs can be made to the parsonage.
About time to wrap up this book.

Thanks for the concern and advice, The MR thread is amazing about how many of us model railroaders have the same hobby and affliction. I have been told that if I lose enough wait and eat a healthy diet I will not need the medicine maybe, this not the case for most though.

I had fun playing with the pc's today and have learned a bit about how to realy get rid of a file on a pc delete and then write over it. I guess I have always knew that but never done it myself before. Wensday I get to load Operating system and check out monitors keyboards and mice I have built industrial computers before and set up Windows NT 3.51 or something like that it has been a few years. Talk about a bone yard their basement is full of old pc and giant monitors I forgot how much space an old monitor takes up , I switched to lcd flat panels on my two working(hooked up and using) pcs at home. I have 5 pc's an Ti994a and an Apple IIc. I have been computing since middle school and still have a lot to learn.
Good Evening Everyone !! Seemed fairly warm today, my first day back to work !!
Jim : glad Julia is getting better !! I know she will be glad too !!
Sounds like Buckeye is coming along nicely, too !! That's good !!
Glad The Chief's hand is healing !!
Chuck : see if they have CSX BLUEBERRY PAINT !! Chief will love it !!
Hope all have a nice evening !!
Thanks, John
First day at work went cool and easy. Used killdisk to write over deleted files out of 14 pc 4 would not boot from the CD leaving me with 10 good units. These computers were donated to an agency that helps mentaly ill and substance dependant clients get ready to be a part of the work force again. The IT department was looking for an assistant to work about 40hours over a 4 week period and maybe more if need be. It will do till I can find a more permant job. I work from 10:00 am till 2:00pm Monday, Wendsday and Friday.
On the MR forum there is a good thread about diebetes and how it affects you enjoyment of the hobby. Most are in their 60's I am 37 but have had diebetes for 3 years now.
RTCOLLECTOR, I'll send one tonite here at school they block out any pics that come in.

Buckeye & John ( jefelectric )......I have decided to paint the bridge a very deep metallic blue. ( Blueberry Blue ).

Chief,Wife has been on me to do the oil change for 2 months... the Solara has over 100,000 miles so I started putting Fully Synthetic in it 3 changes ago... it should last at least 10,000 miles... she tells me at 3,500 that it needs to be changed! Well I drain the oil (7,900 miles) and it looks nearly brand new!!!! Bimmers are to go 15,000 miles per change, but I do them at 10,000... keeps the engines happy. Not sure I would want to drain the oil while going down the highway... something tells me the engine wouldn't like that too much! John,Show was very nice! They had the entire floor covered with vendors and had some nice layouts... Forgot to ask the one club what they used for their sub roadbed because it was darn near silent! They also had some vendors along the outter rim. In all I would say close to 80 - 100 vendors. I saw far too much stuff that I wanted... The C&O BUDD car, B&O Beep, B&O and C&O steamers... all at really good prices... and lots and lots of rolling stock. One thing I can't figure out is here the shows don't appear to have much cheap rolling stock ($5.00 bargain bins), when I was in Pittsburgh almost all the vendors had a few cheapy bins, was nice to get some rolling stock in need of repair so you could do custom paint jobs, or make crash scenes, or maintenance scenes... hopefully York will be different. Did you get the email?Frank53 - they had a 736 pulling some PW stock on tubular track.
Good Morning from Iowa where it's absolutely drop dead gorgeous this a.m. if you like bright blue skies and a winter scene. It couldn't be any prettier unless it was June 1 Luckily the storm's hit Saturday night with plenty of warning, typically this is when we get our worst storms of the winter season but the good news is that it doesn't stay around long. Sadly, they are predicting a possible repeat Thursday............
Doug--purchasing tickets is just out of control, we are at their mercy. I bought Harry Connick tickets last week on line and the add on prices totaled $14.75 per ticket, UNBELIEVABLE I hate ticket%^#&*@ and we literally have no choice, even when I drive to a venue and buy the tickets they add on a processing fee plus the building maintenance fee (which I don't mind because it's $2.50 and the arts get very little local support).
Talked to the Chief yesterday and that was enjoyable, thanks! Sure wish we could visit NC again and actually have cup of coffee together. We spent about 5 days in Wilmington two years ago for a wedding and enjoyed every minute, almost as nice as Iowa
Have a good one!
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
HI GIZ,
Got a 2 hr. delay here with snow and ice. YEA went and took advantage of it, slept for an extra hour.
DOUG, where have you been? Also,
I got it from GELLER TRAINs here's the address,

He's a real good guy nice to deal with, I buy ior two things from him down at YORK. He only has a few of the PRIEST vehicles left, give him a call.
All have agood one.
A little of everything overnight. Carol swiped my 4x S10 & I get to clean the driveway & car.Actually, I took this picture to razz her in August when she complains if it's hot & humid. We just picked this used beauty up on Saturday, her 97 Cougar had gone berserk the last month after 5 years of 0 troubles. She drove that thing in all kinds of weather & hates frontwheel drive cars. So this suits her fine.

Buckeye, Nice to hear you are on the mend. One of the things they say causes kidney stones is to much iced tea. If that is the case, Chief should be getting them, not you.
I thought Chuck said it was going to be Blueberry color for the bridge.
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Brent, Sounds like you had a great weekend. Was it a big show?
Grandkids are wonderful.
By the time I was dressed and looked out the door, the drive was cleared and my papers were laying on the kitchen counter. 2 hour delays are great too.
Breakfast was a bowl of yellow corn grits, bacon, fruit and coffee. How does that sound Chief? BTW, what did you think of my load of John Deeres on Sunday Photo Fun?
Now for the bad news, I'm about to start working on taxes.
Take care,
Good morning from Buckeyeland!
Did you see who won the Big Ten Basketball Championships? Yes, both the men and the women's teams won the conference. Now just a little hint to those of you who are going to be in the NCAA men's office pool, OSU will not make it to the final four.
Chief, I hope you are feeling better today. A good cure for your ailing body would be a trip to Buffalo. The cold and the snow would flush out all that sweet tea and grits. Some ice fishing on the Niagara River would also help your situation.
Drinking decafe this morning and it feels so good.

Good morning from a sleety Chicago where I have battled snow and ice for two days and have pages of thread notes to catch up on - with my boss snowed in on the east coast, I'm looking forward to it. Heavy wet heart-attack lake effect snow is coming down again. Good thing I have young 'uns to move it around at home.
Ran the trains for some guests Sat. night and of course they misbehaved - my own fault. I'm mad at myself though. I'm at least going to try to run another feeder to the far end of the layout if I have enough wire. I wish one of you lived close enough to just eye-ball it and give me advice about how to redo it. It looks like a rats nest of wire again.
Laz, that 'priest' cannon-hauler and the new peoples you got look grand. Does the seller of that military hardware have a website ?
Jon (and Mitch), it is interesting to see what's going on in the event-ticketing world - the latest thing in the Chicago arts market (which is pretty conservative) is demand-pricing (you pay for what you want - last min seats to a big show - $$$. I call it the ticketmaster effect or rather the conglomerate effect.
Keith, I like your trolley abuse rule and will add it to the operating rules on my pike - now I've got to find some Slim Whitman...
Marty, I think of you whenever we watch a big sporting event and wonder if you're in the truck. We watched the Oscars as a family - the girls love to look at the clothes. I did a cross-word puzzle. I used to work video editing and production for Satellite News Channels (a precursor of CNN) and later did everything for the South Bend (IN) CBS affliliate. Lots of good stories - and hard work. Now I only do it for church... funny how a career morphs.
Chief, I hope you are feeling better.

I even tuned out the today show this morning as all they were showing was oscar stuff. Ugh!

fifedog wrote:88 - wow, I didn't know they even put 2.0 in Rugged Rails engines. It will be hit or miss when running them for the first time. If the battery is good, it'll crank right up and move on command, if not it'll just idle and sit there. If you are buying it second hand, sometimes sellers will install a regular 9 volt battery. This is ok, as it will allow you to test run to make sure everything is running, you just have to install a rechargeable later. Either way, nice price, and I'm sure they'll look good on my layout...
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 32 degrees. Going up to 42 today with clouds most of the day. Might get a little rain later.
Today is a chores day. Have to clean up the house and all those little odd jobs that need attention. Maybe , I get an hour or so, to run trains later this afternoon. Glad everyone liked the bridge pictures, yesterday. Once it's painted, the steel bridge will look better.
This week is the 1st of March. This year is going fast. It will be good to see Spring. We have had a cold January and February. Maybe, we'll get lucky and have an early summer.
Well, the Dining Car just rolled in from " points west ". Still plenty of food left. ( except Bran Muffins ). Time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday. Have a good day , back to work , John.
