Jon, just think, you had spoken of redoing your layout soon.  Be glad you held off till this offer was done.  As to the length of time to shoot and the amount of equipment, I know all about that.  We have a ton of equipment being assembled for our movie project and soon will begin shooting 8 weeks worth of 16 hour days for a 2 hour movie.  Time to kick my energy levels into high gear.

Kurt, Bat-filming ended in Chicago; they've moved overseas to the London area for some work. Unfortunately, a stunt-person died in an accident chasing the Batmobile...

We just finished running some trains. We started with the 2343s and ran them for a good long time while our B&M Beep ran on the inner track. Then we ran a Marx 1666 on the inner track and our NYC 4-4-2 pulling a passenger consist on the outer loop. Between the two steamer locomotives, the room was filled with smoke.

John's farm got a new tractor recently. An orange Case model. It looks great next to the pumpkins. Torn between detailing it and leaving it shiny any toy-like. I happen to like shiny and toy-like.

I heard from The Beav earlier this afternoon. Enterprise didn't pick him up until 1:30! I hope he got to meet up with Miss Lisa, of skunk fame.

Well I went to Michaels.  There were so many buildings there!  I ended up getting the Greenstamps building for $22.  There were a bunch of things I would have liked to leave with.  They had the ferris wheel and a bunch of other carnival items.  Those were some pretty expensive items!  They had two isles filled from top to bottom, and had all of the operational items running.

They had everything for 25% off.  The sale continues until the 6th.  On a side note, all of my stickers are crooked, but I don't mind much.

Mickey, probably would not be a problem, but I don't think we are supposed to give other's emails here.  His moniker is wrmcclellan .  You can go to page 573 and see his last post.  Then PM him from there.  Wonderful person with lots of expertise in layouts.  It is always great to catch up with the fine folks from this forum.

Made it to Columbia bythe way of Bass Pro Shops in Concord [Charlotte].  Enterprise screwed up the whole world today.  Suppose to pick me up at 9:00 AM.  Guy claimed no vehicles.  Then 10:00.  Then at 11:00, ten minutes.  Then at 11:45, ten minutes.  Then at 12:15, ten minutes.  Call back.  "Sir, I'm so sorry.  New guy.  I had a vehicle I could have put you in but he said your schedule was flexable.  Putting you in a Jeep.  No gas tgo pay for.  What else can I do?"  "PICK ME UP!!!!"  "Ten minutes."  "End of Rogers Rd., turn left and sixth house past the school on Main Street. I will be standing by the street so she will not miss the house."  1PM, she comes out of big subdivision.  She could not read the sign, MAIN STREET.  Then, you guessed it.  She drove right past me and suddenly slamed on brakes.  DUUHHH.

Well, met Lisa on my side of Greensboro and she has found a unknown tain store near there.  We ate [she nibbled] at KW.  She showed me some EBay finds she had won.  Got some track from her for my storage shelves.  Good to see her.  Made her run late for her "home visit".  I was so pissed off at Enterprise, I did not care if I got to SC for computer class or not.  Then guy in SC called and said don't worry about it so I wentg to BPS.  Took 45 minutes to drive 15 miles on I 85 [just before getting to BPS] due to wreck blocking the highway.  Did teach two new employees charger class.  Trip around Charlotte on I 485 was longer than I thought it would be but no jams.  Hotel is in a big monster shopping area and had to retrack a block to get to it.  Great room though.  Out early tomorrow for Dealer Show.

BTW:  The Enterprise employees that ddid not know their --- from a whole in the ground are young Yankees that just moved South.  DUMB!!!!  Guess that is what they "put out" from Yankee Universities. Whistling [:-^]

CHIEF  - Wasn't late - in fact got there 10 minutes early.  Good to see you again.  Thanks for all the info on my gondolas.  You helped me a lot.    We'll have to schedule another trip to that train store - preferably on a day Enterprise doesn't have to pick you up.  Maybe you need to schedule the car to be delivered the day BEFORE you actually need it - then maybe they will get there on time!!  Banged Head [banghead]

Chief, sounds like a big run around!  Doug M, I read about that Batman accident - very sad.  Don - How cool!  Sounds like you were like a kid in a candy shop!  I've got a bunch of Dept 56 and Lemax Halloween buildings.  I think Dept 56 would be wise to have some buildings available in snowvillage and non-snowvillage versions.  Howdy ev'body!  Went out to Red Robin for dinner for birthday, friends' kid.  Had the new Blackened Bayou Burger - pretty good!  Onion rings were great as always!  No new train stuff today, sorry.  Full of cake, but you guys can help yourself to icecream or popcorn, take your poison!  Chewy was sick on the couch sometime today and my wife had to clean up - aparently a really big mess.  I think one of the kids left some poptart out where she could get it...  Oh well, dogs will be dogs.

PS - Hi Miss Lisa!  Sounds like Chief was a perfect gentleman and had a good visit!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Sorry to hear The Beav, had such a terrible time, E must not of known WHO they were delaying!  I mean this is THE elected offical of Roseyville!  Good thing he was meeting with Lisa today, he had to turn all that rage into civility!  Glad they had a good time!

Doug, ndg (notdagrump), Glad your still stable!  Sound like a mess out in La Jolla.  Was the landslide near CSUSD?  I was just their giving a presentation a couple of weeks ago!  I need to get some information regarding your Kids Club at the museum, I think we are going to try setting something up like that.  We need to do a lot of PR and community work to continue our club.

John F must REALLY be busy, havn't seen very much posting from him recently!

I continued on with the "All" command activites this am, and a little this evening.  Really doin well with it.  Then I go to our train club this evening, and some of the guys were talking about DCS and how problematic it is, and confusing to work with!  I didn't say a word, some people don't want to hear anything different.  Talk about bias and prejudice, whew!  My whole thing is working on nothing more than two alligator clips, connected on a track section off a siding.  It is NOT suppose to be working, but works great.

Have a great day!  (Tomorrow night turn 4)

Nice to know at least one person thinks I'm stable, oh you're talking about the La Jolla thing. Nevermind. Big Smile [:D]

No, it's not to close to UCSD. It's pretty much smack dab in the middle of a residential area. All in all they were pretty lucky, the slide didn't happen in the middle of the nite to a totally unsuspecting populous. Unfortunately there is no insurance coverage for "Earth Movement" when not associated with a quake, although we did have a very minor one the other day. Supposedly a 3.0, if it hadn't been on the news wouldn't have known it happened. Zzz [zzz]

Don, I'll pass your e-mail addy on to John E., he is the "Kids Club" honcho or you could try contacting him directly thru the club's web site. If you go thru our site be sure to use me as a reference, course my name and $1.50 is good for a cup of coffee. Sigh [sigh] Let me know which way you would prefer to handle that.

Morning!

Wes:  Great S&H building!  Some of those Lemax buildings get pretty expensive, but they sure look great.  More economical than the Dept 56.

My sister stopped by yesterday, she was attending a conference nearby, and wanted to see the girls.  I showed her the Disney trains for Christmas.....She said I needed to stop with the trains....Confused [%-)]  Aaarrrgg....Sisters....

I'll be in northern Indiana (Hammond) Sunday afternoon...any leads on train shops?  The girls (Bride included) will be attending a baby shower, so I have the afternoon off!

Bad guy on the forum? I don't recall being a bad guy on the forum. What did I do now, Beav?

I stayed up too late last night watching some Spike Lee movie. It was about a woman who makes her living providing phone sex. It was so funny, I couldn't turn it off.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear, sunny, 62 degrees. Going up to 88 today, with sunshine.

Today, I am taking it easy. Yesterday, was a busy day. I have a few chores to do, then I will relax under the shade tree. Shade is getting less as the leaves are falling. Darn.

Well, only two days left before the Train Show. It looks like we will have a good turn out. Looking forward to seeing the OTTS guys.

Dining Car is here. Breakfast. Then, it will head for " points west".

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Well, tonight I find out if I wasted the last 12 years of my life.  Kids I have been coaching and/or practicing with for that time start their last soccer tourney.  We should win the sectional (tonight and hopefully, Saturday), which is all I have expectations of doing.  We have beaten or tied the other three teams in our grouping.  Perhaps I should not feel this way, but I have invested a lot of time and energy and I would hate to see no results.  Tomorrow this time I will be either very unhappy or semi-happy (as there would still be one more game).  We shall see.

In the meantime, I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on the dining car from "Points East".  I hope everybody (especially the soccer team) has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C.

PS  Train related subject:  Has anyone heard anything about a new MTH Tinplate catalog?  Thank you.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Mornin' Ms Lisa.  Very foggy and 22C here in West STOCKPORT.  May have to put on the mack to place the sugar plum on her big cheese this morning.

Wes - LEMAX does have sticker control problems, to be sure.  But unless you want to rifle through all 10 boxes on display, you'll have to take your chances.  Love the detail in the window of the Green Stamp building.

Dr John - Thank you.  I enjoyed looking at your Christmas layout pictures.  I could just picture myself sitting on the floor, watching the trains at eye level, with the room lights off.  You don't have any cats, do you?  Don't want to start itching and sneezing during this day-dream...

Brutus - I just flip the nasty seat cushion over...that's why they cover both sides.Thumbs Up [tup]

Chief - Mrs. fifedog suggests some MANILOW to ease those slow journeys around Charlotte.  Try "Oh, Mandy", and "Looks like we made it".

My favorite Manilow song is 'Weekend in New England', followed by 'Cococabana' (there is a night club in Geleen, Netherlands by that name - at least there was in 1989 - met some very friendly Dutchies (Dutch Ladies) there...).  When on long trips Susan likes to pop in some Jazz or Neil Diamond... Confused [%-)] What is it about 'Sweet Caroline' that always makes you sing? Sign - Dots [#dots]

JimA - Another night, another missed opportunity to take a picture of the 'Jesus Tender'...

Ms Lisa - You tryin to corrupt The Chief?  Showing him your gondolas! Shock [:O] Probably made the ol' feller Blush [:I]...

Wes - find your way out of that wire tangle yet?

--- SEE all you have to do is mention the fellers over the pond and they come out of the wood work! --- anyone heard from JimTrumpie?  He's been awefully quiet since his move... Nick, have fun with Daan!  Remember we want pics of his layout (the two of you would probably break the camera if you took a joint picture!) Laugh [(-D]

Sounds like someone needs to make a trip to CA to help Don figure out how to post videos... I mean, really, he posts about this AWESOME moment on his layout and he DOESN'T SHARE!!!!

Normally I avoid posting on the Coffee Pot like the plague, but today I can't resist pointing out that a few months ago I was viciously tarred and feathered for jokingly posting a mild double entendre about someone spending an afternoon "washing his wife's Bimmer."

Now we've got a thread full of "gondolas" and "beavers" and heaven-knows what else. Where is Ogaugeoverbear when you really need him? Talk about your double-standard!

It's odd, really, because, as a general rule, if one "sees" the double meaning, he (or she) is generally old and/or mature enough to handle it without getting the ol' knickers in a twist.

Here comes one now: a shy Englishman meets an attractive young woman and asks her whether she enjoys Kipling. Her response: "I really don't know -- I've never kippled."

Ka-ching!

Must I get ready to straddle the cold hard rail once again?
