Mike,

I just had a chance to watch Lost.  It gets better every week.

Does anyone have a MTH Rail King 4-6-0?  I ordered the 4-6-0 christmas set w/ PS2, and I was wondered how people like the 4-6-0.  I'll check in later, have to wax the car this afternoon.

and welcome back Ken - Haven't heard from you in a while. Where did your daughter end up deciding to go to school?  I remember you were on the great college search tour a while back.

Well I better go start a fresh pot of coffee and then get to work. Another interesting day awaits.

Take care.

Mitch,

Tricia won the Bishop's Scholarship for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and will be attending Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg Maryland. It looks like I'll be passing through Gettysburg more than a few times in the next four years. I don't know if you can get channel 6 from Philadelphia, but she will be part of the tribute to the Best of the Class of 2007 filmed at Longwood Gardens. I think it airs on May 19th.

I hope your interview gets you Best of Class.

Best Regards,

Ken

Ken, Make sure you go to the Shrine of Elisabeth Ann Seton.  I went to the National Fire Academy (right next door!) and went throught the shrine.  Very impressive!! A couple of the firefighters I went to class with, must of caught it just right, as some of the nuns there gave them a guided tour.  Of course I would also recommend the National FireFighers Memorial, for obvious reasons....Whistling [:-^]

Congrat to your daughter, you must be very proud!

Rich, if you are in the IAFF, they have another "National Fallen Firefighters Memorial" in Colorado Springs.  I just mention this, should you ever find yourself out that way.  Have some friends with their names on both walls.....shame.

Afternoon all,

Doug- If I had to wear a cape and tights I'd stay in a cave too!

Brent - As far as the tub goes, there is a lot of potiential weight.Shock [:O]  Figure where you want it  and investigate what the substructure and framing are.  Depending on your set-up you will need 120, or 220 volts available.  The circuit needs to be GFIC protected.  When you situate the tub, maintain access to the pump filters and electronics via a removable door of sorts.  The plumbing is the easy part.

I got the All Aboard layout together and tested.  It is really neat.  It is on the floor in the trainroom, so I guess I'm a floor runner now!Big Smile [:D]

Need to run.  May God bless

Actually the black suit is the correct suit.  Batman is also known as the black knight and was originally dressed in all black.  When the TV series came about the directors didn't think the audience would take to an all black character so they changed the colors of Batman's and Robin's outfits to the 'happy colorful' ones you saw during your youth.  When the first Batman movie came out, DC comics decided it was time to bring back the original costume and that is when black batman fought colorful batman in the comic books and black batman won...

Now you may wonder how I know all this since I have NEVER read a comic book my entire life?  When I started working after college I worked with two fellas that were avid comic book collectors, one day during lunch we ventured down to the comic book store and we were discussing the different super heroes.  That is when they told me the story... and to think I still remember it 10 years later...

I liked Michael Keaton as Batman more than anyone else... although the new guy comes close (sounds alot like Keaton).

Tell me boy... ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?

Dennis, barely remember the one in Colorado.  Never been there.  I was volunteer for 20 years in NJ and then 3 here in FLA.  I went to the Fallen Firefighter service a few years back.  Very moving.  My department has 1 Line of Duty Death member.  I was fighting a fire when he died of a heart attack directing traffic.  We were good friends and neighbors (he lived across the street from me).  JJ was an old Sutherner, alway had 'shine in the house...spoke perfect Nawthern until he got his Rebel up...he was a great guy.  Sorry to ramble on, just safe to say the NFF Memorial grounds are someting to see....just like Mother Seton's Shrine!

Just wanted to tell everyone about the great customer service I received from Glen's Train Shop in Akron.  I ordered an MTH set from them Wednesday, and the brown angel brought it a couple of hours ago.  I never thought I'd get it that fast.

Evenin' boys.  Simply gorgeous here in the Mid-Atlantic today.  No rain, although we could use a dose to knock down the pollen;my boy is suffering something fierce.  Just finished mowing the lawn;YUPPIE style=diagonally.

After a long day in the sun, I like to sit down and enjoy a good burger.  Wish I had a SONIC burger!  Then I could wash it down with a tasty beverage... say, a SONIC shake!  Now, where can I find one...

Or some REAL Buffalo wings... you would think with all the migrants from Pittsburgh down here in Bal'more SOMEONE would have figured out how to make some tasty wings by now... Whistling [:-^]

Fife, I hear ya on the allergies thing... wife is constantly being laid out due to them... and she has asthma to boot!  She starts itching and wheezing due to the pollen, then she has an asthma attack, which wipes her out... then I spend a couple hours getting hot tea and lemon bombs for her... all the while she is whining... poor girl needs a bubble to walk around in!

Zeke, lived up by Ft. Benning for 8 years, lots of inf. up that way.  Also, Pathfinders, sniper, and lots of other schooling up there too.  One friend is a Lt. Col., at Ft. Hood.  He was at Lewis with Stryker.  One friend is Task 21, rotates every 2 months Iraq/Afgan./Home, back.  Greatest group one could know.

Got plenty to do tonight, FIL is making a visit in the morning.

Congrats to you and your daughter.  We might get channel 6 if it is a Comcast channel...  The Mount is a great school.  We have visting seminarians and faculty at our church in Gettysburg and they are great.  My son has a friend who goes to the Mount and it is one of his favorite places to visit.  Beautiful place. Did you get a chance to visit the Grotto, if not, be sure to visit the next time you are there.

Thanks for the encouraging words about the job.  It really is a win-win.  I love my current school and will be OK if I don't get it. Disappointed if I don't get it, sure, but life will go on.

Take care,

Mitch

Anybody remember the Mad Magazine take-off on batman?  That was hilarious and I esp loved the ending - I'm a vampire Bat Boy, snip snip slurrrrp!  What, me worry?

Picked up a new train book at Borders tonight: The Illustrated Directory of Trains of the World.  Lots of cool pics and info.  My son's fieldtrip was cancelled due to all the rain, so I went in to work, but did take off 2 hours early intending to meet the family at the mall.  That didn't work out, though, as my wife was watching our friends' son until about 6.  Had chinese food and guess what, I'm hungry!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Brent - Try Bill Bateman's - There are a few of them around. There's a Bateman's in the southern end of Hanover Pa (just north of Manchester) and another in Reisterstown, and Severna Park too.  I think the original Bateman's is in Towson or Cockeysville area.  I love their wings.  I think one night a week they have an all you can eat special too.  They just opened one at BWI too.

 Happy eatin'

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 58 degrees. Going up to only 68 today. Good chance of rain showers later. I hope not.

Today, I am taking it easy. Did a lot of work, outside, the last few days. Looks good. We are having company, this afternoon. Wife's niece and son. I will run trains this afternoon. Four year old has about 10 minutes of interest, then wants to go play. I need some relaxing time.

NASCAR race from Richmond on tonite.

Time for the Dining Car. Breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Bateman's had good wings, not great.  I guess I'm a bit of a wings snob because I was spoiled for so long.  The problem I have with wings down here is they are cooked too long and they just douse them with Frank's Hot Sauce, thems not wings!  Bateman's didn't cook em too long, but their sauce was just missing something... nice spice though.

Hooters has OK wings, about the same as Bateman's... but their scenery tends to be a bit nicer to look at.  But I would be game for a recon mission after runnin' trains... I'm hoping to be able to host a session at the new house before Christmas... I know, lofty goal, but I think I can get something decent done!

Waiting for the furniture people to drop off the new sofa... wife is brewing coffee and making sticky buns! Dinner [dinner] Now if I could just get her to make pancakes, eggs, homefries, and sausage then I would be in heaven!Dinner [dinner]Dinner [dinner]Dinner [dinner]Dinner [dinner]

Have to mow and bag the lawn today, then take old sofa to the dump...
