Well, I got the green light from wifey this morning to go visit George's Trains downtown. I'll check in later and report on the damage to the bank account. cheers Bruce Webster

Seriously, a lot of us might benefit if you let us know what track system you choose And Why, what switches And Why, Also the control system(s), etc. Bravo! Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!! As mentioned by the Chief, I would like to see a special thread on the progress from this. Chief, looks like we may have a reason to visit Ohio after all. I could swing by NC on my way nawth and pick you up for a recon mission. Perhaps we can sneak some plans to allow a Y6 engine to run. This is quite an opportunity, I am sure you giz will do a wonderful job. Maybe we'll all get together at that Hobby shop in Hamburg you mentioned with Tom Schmidt, down the road. I'm only a little over a hundred miles from there I believe. I used to go to Hamburgs' R/C airplane, 2 day events there. Thanks again, John Reply Anonymous Member sinceApril 2003 305,205 posts Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 14, 2006 9:06 AM Tom, I doubt a donation like this would be recognized by our tax system. That's not a worry though. I'm just glad to help out in some way. By the end of next week, we will have our tax emp number, then all donations will be tax deducable. Not that it helps you up North of the Border, or does it? So, if the fine folks of OTTS will allow I'd like to propose an offer. I will donate a scratchbuilt structure of the clubs choise, custom built by yours truly. Please choose something of reasonable size...somewhere in between an outhouse and Penn Station [;)] I will foot the bill for all materials and shipping of the finished product. We can work together on specific plans, details and dimensions so that it'll be a simple installation. I know how finnicky and time consuming doing details like scenic stuff can be. I hope this offer will help see the new layout to quicker fruition. Bruce Webster BTW...This is in no way a ploy to get a foot in the door of OTTS. Frankly, their weekly blood letting rituals scare the hell out of me. If you look at Jan 06 CTT, page 65, it has a layout about the size and shape that we will be building. After the track plan, then the benchwork design and building starts. This should happen by spring. Today I will be stopping by the Museum today to take pic and post the great HO layout that they have. The HO layout is 40' x 16' .
