Hi from a bright and mild North Bluff,

Been kinda laied up as of late. Yep this is what they mean by watching out when you walk on snow that might have ice under it broke my ankle in three spots, cracked one of the broken bones as well and also broke my back at the L2 again and that calls for an upper body cast / support. So I have not been doing much. Pain is something like you could never know without having it. Been in the hospital in Rockford after being transferred there on the night of the 17th from Ottawa. They tried to re-set my ankle twice at Ottawa and gave up, sent me by ambulance to Rockford and re-set it again, then 3 days later did the operation. Two plates, with bolts, and some screws have been installed to hold together the mess. Ankle had full fractures on all three ankle bones. Tibia, fibula and talis. If I spelled them right. With a crack in addition to one of them. And all the ligaments are torn. I got out of there on the afternoon of the 25th. Now for the hard part. Six weeks "no" weight on the foot. The cast they put on me just keep getting bigger. In home PT starts today but doubt I get to do much other than learn how to get around with the walker. You just never know!

I feel for you Rich, You have had a lot to deal with, I hope Jenni gets better soon. Angel

Prayers for anyone else in need of them.

Best get,

Holy smoke!  Best wishes for a speedy recovery 'K!

I've taken tumbles on ice myself but luckily never broke or damaged anything, except my pride!  Embarrassed

Oh My Goodness Kev,

So sorry to hear of the accident and the pain that it is causing.  I hope you have a speedy recovery and plenty of help once you get home.

Holy cow, Kevin, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, I hope you get on the move again soon, I kinda know what you're going through, back when I had my open heart surgery when I finally got home I basically was bedridden because of the super antibiotic they had me on. It would send me through the moon when I cough but had to do it to clear my lungs of buildup. Prayers for you

Good golly, Kevin!  Here's hoping that your recovery goes as it should.  My wife had back surgery a number of years ago followed by a knee replacement, so we know something about the road you are travelling.  Godspeed.
