Today, this 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, please remember the tragedy we shared and those we lost. Angel

Spent the morning cleaning out the frozen drain line on the freezer.AGAIN, like the third time in 5 years. What a PITA and what a POS set up. SO that is done on to Brunch. Thinking about it I guess you could say I have been defrosting the frost free Refrigerator.  Bang Head

Hey all!

Sunny and moderating temps! Pleasant early mornings!

Son's flower gardens are looking great. Lotsa Zennias. Impressed the yard guys!

Becky - glad the move has gone well! Looks like more space than the first "all-in-one" apt I had eons ago.

Chilly morning. Did not sleep well. Did nap after chemo yesterday. Bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.   Neck not doing good but Tylenol will help. Nothing on agenda for today.

Hope all have a good one.

Wayne: It's a one bedroom.  One bed, one bath one kitchen, one dining/living/everything room + one "ugly closet".  No need for a "Warm River Junction" here, the furnace and water heater are both squashed into a closet between the kitchen and the bathroom.

Becky, sounds like you did all right.  More space would  be nice but what matters is making the best of what you've got.

When we cleaned out my late brother-in-law "Big B's" two-bedroom we were amazed at how much space he would have had if he didn't fill it up with a ton of shht!  I could have lived very comfortably in the space he had.

furnace  in the apartment?  I'm surprised it doesn't have a central heating plant like most apartments do, but maybe what you've got's a better system.  When a central plant goes nobody's got heat!

Rained big time.   We got 1.53". [total for two days = 2.90"] Western part of the county was under flash flood warning. Wow. Could tell it was pouring while having chemo. Speaking of chemo, magnesium [always one bag which takes an hour] and only one bag of chemo today [30 minutes].

The apartment looks nice and roomy Becky!  One-bedroom or studio?  Just curious.

I suggested that maybe some inexpensive area rugs might take care of the "Carpet Central" railroad issue, you know, to keep any oil or grease off the main carpet.

And I just knew  you'd save the Dreyfuss!  Yes

Best of luck in your new digs!

I'm BAAAAACCCCKKK!  Big Smile

I got started with first things first of course...

6 of the 12 locos I kept plus a semi-convertible:

This is the space:

Between the recliner and the corner there's enough room for a 5 by 9 and the forground space would handle a 4 by 4.  Or, a funky dogbone or figure 8 that runs through the whole space.  And I'm still thinking "floor" because I'd like to put my tree in the center of the window.

Oh, there's also room for another small layout in my bedroom!

I know what my priorities are!  Laugh

bBetween the aspirin and all the other drugs I take all I have to do is walk by a counter top, door frame. etc. and I bruise like crazy. I look like I escaped from a leper colony.

If there is  good side to having RCC vs other cancers immunotherapy is a lot easier on the body then the traditional chemo programs. Chief, here is one of the items I pigged out on after my tremendous weight loss:

Not to mention the milk shake and malt chasers.

Remember it is a marathon not a sprint !

Wow is there anybody out there??

Watching the little guy, Jordan today, he only made about a week of school before he was exposed to COVID and now he is in quarantine. Go figure. Been a long time since I worked on homework. Laugh

Wow that front that blasted through yesterday afternoon took out a lot of corn. Many fields are mostly flat on the ground. Tongue Tied 70mph flat winds here. A small in the air tornado at the daughters. I will be putting Jordan to work on yard clean up when he gets done with the school work. Wink

Dennis, if you were asking me,,,yes I do take those 81mg aspirin. bruse like mad.

Afternoon all!

Sunny and summertime hot!

Still doing small chores that have piled up - touchup painting here and there, clean out an outdoor light fixture that birds nested in, etc.

About to get reset on the El Camino project. Next week is my goal.

Chief - hang in there - it is a long recovery after the chemo is done.

Hi gang, happy Labor day!

Well got the Ranger starter off yesterday,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,WHAT A PITA!!!! Everything went as wrong as it could. Good news was, it failed the bench test so I think I got the right part on the way. What do you want from 18 years of rust? I am getting way to old for this!! Laugh Hate to think what me arms will look like by tomorrow! All I need to do is look at my skin and I bruise.  Surprise

So I just picked away at it till I got it off. I ended up removing the innerwell of the truck to get at it better. That helped.

A close friend of mine came over and I just don't get it. He is a year younger than me and looks 20 years older. He has millions of dollars but acts like he is broke. Not shaved, got about six teeth missing both of his parents are in their 90s and in ill health, His wife who is 59 is on her last stages of a year long fight with cancer. He has been driving her to Mayo every week for treatments. And he will not get the vaccination? How selfish can you be? SoapBox

Have a good day.

Things are normal crazy here, with the Covid situation, and the Recall efforts in full swing.  I thought we would be out of the Covid by now, not having another surge.  I really don't understand peoples reluctance on getting the vacination!  The downsides are so minimal and risking young children just doesn't make sense to me!

I'm with you.  COVID's out there and it's never  going away, just like measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio, seasonal flus, and any other nasty disease. Like it or not it's a permanent part of the landscape.

We got the vaccination months ago and were glad to do so.  There's nothing to be afraid of (unless you just don't like needles, which I can understand, me neither) and you'll be glad you got it just for the peace of mind for yourself and those around you.  A few minutes for a shot can go a long way to getting us back to normal, and we all want that.

Good Morning,

Hope everyone has a good day and plenty of BBQ's and family.

Going to start our day cleaning filters on the pool, then BBQ later.  Who knows may get some "pool" time as well.  The weather certainly is right for it!  Not as hot here as Dennis has it, we are only getting up to the mid 80's, sorry Dennis.

The Recall scenerio is unbelievable!  Newsome is being blamed for climate change, gas prices, covid, and the list goes on and on.  Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time!  Nobody could win, it was inevitable.  Then the 40 some candidates running for his office, is laffable when you read their professions.

Not suppose to talk politics here, so I better drop it.

Enjoyed the ending of the Nascar race yesterday, but it was a looong race.  (Traditionally so, the "Southern 500")  The Long Beach Grand Prix is coming in two weeks, I don't think I will make it, too many people, in to small of an area.

Glad to hear the Chief is doin better!

Roy's recovery seems to be progressing well!

All Great News!!

Continued prayers for Mrs. Banks, sure this week-end it tough for her and their family.

Take Care ALL and be SAFE!

Hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day weekend. I've been on the train, and will be again today.  Riders spotted a black bear at north end of the Trough, yesterday.  Cookout at Middle Princess afterwards.

Afternoon all. Being lazy today. Finally got to office. Feel good though. Had my COVID booster shot last night [chemo Dr. said do]. Lucky my CVS pharmacist is my adopted sister and she came to the house and administered. [which I mentioned last night.  No reaction at all.

Watching HGTV and Home Town. Laurel Miss. and NS tracks run through the town. After each break, opening scene is NS going through town.

Hope all have a very good week head.

Glad to see your getting a rebuild Chief!

4 days without AC, great for me. I too think I can always add more but can only take off so much. I don't seem to be able to get used to the heat like many do.

The rusty Ranger must of got mad at me?
Day before yesterday we took it for a long drive to Menards then to Millbrook to a tree nursery then through the countryside to home. Heck I was proud of her she ran great, about 90 miles in all.
Yesterday morning wifey tells me Ranger has a flat. Sure enough the front tire has a roofing staple in it so it amounts to two holes for the effort of one.  SO I get the air tank and air up the flat so I can move it to the shed to remove the tire. Nothing but one click. Much checking and fiddling later and it seems the starter took a dump all other systems seem fine. So then it is then stuck in Sandra's garage on a flat tire!  I should of stayed in bed! Bang Head Later I got the tire fixed and there it sat.
Today we had the Grand-pup and when the daughter and kids came by to pick her up this afternoon I had Dan help me move it from wifey's garage to the shed so I can pull off the starter off and put on a new one. I ordered one from Rock-Auto about 1/2 price of the local parts stores but I can wait to save that.
Roy, Well said we as people are stupid!!! Make me glad I am old!

Pleasant afternoon. Sat on the porch for a few.

PT guy came and we now have a program to "rebuild" me. Coming Monday.

My CVS pharmacist "sister" came to the house and gave me my Pfizer booster shot. We will see if I have some reaction.

Think I will have wings for dinner. Got to eat more.

Later.

Agree - the news folks are not bright - they always say how these storms are historic!

Uh-huh.  Our local newsies are pretty good, but the ones on the national level?  Most are worthless. No institutional memory, no in-depth research, and little maturity, it's all "If it bleeds, it leads!" ratings-grabbing sensationalism.  I don't bother with them at all.

So they forget how much stuff has been built in the wrong areas - how much land surface has been covered with non-permeable materials - how much wetland has been drained - how many urban creeks have not been maintained - etc. etc. and then folks are surprised when the water has no place to go...

Nuthin' new about that.  One of my favorite artists-writers-historians Eric Sloane was saying that as far back as the 1950's!  They just don't learn and they just don't listen.  Or they just don't care.

Good afternoon all!

Sunny and summertime! Cool So what else is new?

Not much to report today - doin' some light chores - paint touchups, etc.

DJ - good to hear about your house location!

Agree - the news folks are not bright - they always say how these storms are historic! (uh - last one was 10 yrs ago - but never do they say this has never happened in recorded history) That the damage is so much worse/costly than the last time. So they forget how much stuff has been built in the wrong areas - how much land surface has been covered with non-permeable materials - how much wetland has been drained - how many urban creeks have not been maintained - etc. etc. and then folks are surprised when the water has no place to go...Storm
