Mornin' guys and gal(s).  Cloudy and 67 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  My buddy Tom heads home today, after a very nice visit.  He surprised me with a purple MTH padded barstool (the one with the back support).  It looks great and I love it.  I reciprocated with a dinner ticket for yesterday's train.  He rode while I did my Conductor duties.  We had an attire bus tour of folks from India, and they were lovely and fun to be around.  At one point they were dancing and singing in the aisle, so I "had" to join in.  Lots of cameras came out at that point.  Fifey may be an international success in Delhi right now... Can't wait 'til the owners see that one. Laugh

Some quality H-2-Ohh is flowing at Fifedom now. We realize that the old pump had to be on borrowed time (when we purchased the house), with how the new one is operating.

Happy "Training".Pirate

Watched a lot of Church on TV today. Shower drain full of hair.     Yes, coming out like all get out. SonIL coming to mow. Off to SisterILN's for a thick ribeye BIL purchased at butchers. BTW: remember the worse Chinese I ever had SisterIL brought the other night. Well, seems all but SisterIL agrees with me.

Had to take some ozy. Pain got too much to take.

Afternoon folks!

Headed for our first 100 day - our abnormally cool temps til now are done - it was 88 at 10 am. N TX normal Devil

Worked on the El Cam ash tray assembly. Very rusted. Drilled out 3 rivets to separate the plastic handle and the metal latch assemblies so I could drop the tray into a jug of Evaporust. Evaporust continues to amaze me. Tray looks like new after 18 hrs of soaking and it does not affect the spot weld points.. The Evaporust also works great on the black anodized body and trim screws, not affecting the anodizing. They also come out looking like new. Found a product on the interweb called Rust Prevention Magic (RPM) that you can coat steel parts with to keep the natural finish - used by classic car restorers. Ordered a small jar via buyitfrombezossoicangointospace.com - should be here by Thurs/Fri.

Also received the new headlight mounting bracket (steel vs plastic), headlight knob, and headlight/dimmer switch yesterday from OPGI. Good news is the switch is a Genuine GM (says so on the box) part -surprisingly made in Taiwan!

Chief - prayers - tough times - hang tough!

Fife - BOLLYWOOD!

Neat gold medal women's road race cycling win by a lady from Austria - no team, just an individual - she stayed in front from halfway and was so far ahead - one of the favored cyclists from Netherlands, who crossed #2 - thought she had the gold.

The skateboarding competition is kinda dumb - folks falling all the time, walking off, and only a few do stuff the whole time - I do not get it...son thought it was cool...so I am old...and proud of it!

Regards, Roy

Went to SisterIL's for steak. Great stake and baked potato. Watched movie with the crew. Monitored blood ox. Never below 92. Rode home. Checked as soon got inside. 92   Means no more aux O2 unless outside in heat or strenuous activities [which I will not do].

Soon will look like boot camp haircut as falling out.

Now some TV [all I can do]. Not needing aux O2, go to Train Box and work.

Hello, hello and hello. Was a little slow this AM as usual. Now better. Shedding like a lab or golden.

85 and hot per Wifey.

Got call from some Humana homecare service. They are going to start monitoring me and helping with anything needed. Wish they had call earlier during this thing. Dr.'s appointment [pulmonary] which is first since left hospital. Since I'm 95% off of aux O2, wonder what he will say now?

Hope all are OK.

Again, bored. Hope to get to Train Box in a few days. That will help.

Have a good day.

Afternoon all!

HOT Cool 100

Thought I would have the El Cam dash completed yesterday but was stymied by the repo metal headlight switch bracket - the lower mount is 1/4" thicker than the original so the instrument bezel will not seat at the switch. Will have to grind out the lower stop that it rests upon. Also - and not unexpected - breaking a few plastic mounting tabs so fabricating workarounds slows things down significantly.

Chief - continued prayers Angel

First posts set for carport Thumbs Up

Hello there,

Wow......over a week since I posted.

Chief.....more Prayers.

Roy.....good work on the ElCamino. Pictures?

RT.......good decision on the house.

Joe...I follow Dave Ramsey's advice, give NO one authority to access your bank account.  Set up a shill account just for Ebay. As soon as funds are deposited I move via electronic banking.

Spent last week making hay between rains. Got 6 or 8 round bales to make that really got wet.
Drove to Lancaster Pa to see the Oak Ridge Boys Saturday night. Great show but they are slowing. Drove home yesterday after Stops at the Strasburg train store, the Toy Train Museum QVC Outlet and a couple other places.
Felt a bit under the weather this AM. Gave in to daughters request and had a Wuhan test even though I'm vaccinated. Results tomorrow or Wednesday.

Back to napping.

Prayers for those in need

Roy, I have a Moped from 1961 I had running in the 90s that has lots of rust in the gas tank. The gas was in powder back then and I flushed it out but it kept plugging the carb and I would have to peddle it home. Laugh Do you think if I fil the tank with that stuff it will clean it up??? I would like to get it running again but the fuel tank is built into the frame so I don't want to tear it all the way down???

Mornin' guys and gal(s). Sunny and 62 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Wifey wants some Deep Creek time today, and it will certainly be a good one weather-wise.

I had a nice chat with Chief yesterday. Talked about his health "journey", his victories as of late, and inspiration. Talking with him, actually healed me.

Have a good one, everyone.Cool

Good morning all!

Hot hot hot - 101 today - sweet!

Completed the El Cam dash project yesterday afternoon! Banks - I have photos and will try to make some time - but it is so tedious to pull photos into Proboards and CTT sites (from Shuttefly).

Scheduled the El Cam windshield install for Monday!!! In the meantime I will be bolting on the remaining items for the AIR pump so it can be ready for state inspection.

KEV - you have nothing to loose but the $35 for a gallon of evaporust (or more as you will need to fill the tank completely). I think the problem may be flushing or suctioning the dissolved rust and rust flakes out. The resto guys throw a bunch of large steel nuts in a tank and vibrate it to knock the big rust loose - maybe lift it with the tractor and drive it around the property Laugh

It's replace the light fixture over the kitchen sink day today.  No big deal except for the fact I'm not the contortionist I used to be, I found that out when replacing the disposall under the kitchen sink.  So I'm waiting for Lady Firestorm to be up, alive, and moving around before I start in case I fall off the stool.

Aside from that, I fixed copiers for 30 years, doing a light fixture should be no problem.  Maybe.

Lightning

Groan.  The new light fixture's in, the old fluorescent fixture's out, but while taking off the old fixture I discovered the guy who installed it in 1984 did a half-a$$ed job and messed up the sheetrock under it!   OK, it's off to the hardware store tomorrow for some spackling paste to cover up the holes.  It never ends.

Now I know how Mike Holmes feels!  Angry

94 in the sun [86 shade] and partly cloudy.

What a day!! Surprised pulmonary Dr. He could hardly here and congestion in lungs. Blood ox was 93 and above. No more aux O2. Will keep it in the utility room for a few. Changed daily inhaler [one I have now landed with Noah when the arch hit dry land]. I'm sure improved and only once a day. Then walk test. Walked up and down the hall with nurse watching blood ox monitor. Started at 93. Surprise as it went to 94. After several trips, nurse could tell hips were hurting [no pain meds since last night] and said stop. Got down to 92. Go home.

Fred brought Smithfield bar-b-q and slaw sandwiches for Pam and I. Great visit from Fred. Old cuss is really a good guy. Peculiar. But, aren't we all.

Mornin' guys and gal(s). Hazy and humid 65 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. It will be a FifeMax kinda day. Vet at 1015 hrs, LightningStormBang Head this afternoon. Do need to swap out propane tanks at the local DG.

Wifey enjoyed our day at the lake. Started with some adult beverages at the Honi-Honi. Picked up goodies at Bear Creek Trading, more goodies at Christmas Chalet, which included a new structure for the North Pole Village. Fine dining at Dutch's, and ice cream at Huey's. We simply like driving all around Deep Creek, checking out the water, and pretty cottages aligning the shoreline.

84 and sunny [94 in the sun]. Guy came and looked at pickup. "How much do you want for it?" Sicker shock kicked in. We will talk some more. Now headed by Wifey's work to look at CRV.

HVAC guys are putting the third coat of Flex Seal [liquid in the can] on condensate pan crack.

Dragging a little this AM. Sure I'll do better later. "Slept like a dog."

Have a good one.

Afternoon all!

Some light clouds so we will hit 98 vs 100 today - may need a sweater or hoodie to avoid the chills!

Carport was completed yesterday and city inspector signed off. Contacted ins co to get it added to the policy.

Working on small details for the windshield install - sanding/priming/painting a few small rust spots on the lower mounting surface. Also prepping/installing the trim/surround clips. The repro clips are a little small on the 'channel' that captures the clips to the pins welded around the windshield frame. So using the Dremel to grind them out.

KEV - looks great! Good luck with the Evaporust if you try it.

Chief - glad you're feeling better!

Mornin' guys and gal(s). Foggy and 65 in the Potomac Highlands. Not sure what's on the agenda today. Spent the evening rearranging the trains on the layout, switching from modern era to a more Post War flavor. Placed the C&O 1601 on the high line, with a complete set of Lionel varnish. Looks sharp. I forgot that I have the Chessie Club 1903, which we actually have on the Potomac Eagle, which is cool. I like to roll my nice desk chair into the aisle, turn off the room lights, and let all four lines rrrrroll.

FifeMax has an ear infection, so he now gets drops in each ear for the next 6-8 weeks. Vet is happy with him, otherwise, even though he tinkled on the scale. 43.6 pounds, in case you were wunderin'... He got a "pup cup" from the local ice cream shop.

74 and sunny. Heat index over 100 for today. Feeling good today. Blood ox is up.

Fred is already at the farms. Last spraying of herbicide worked. All grasses dead. Means he doesn't have to spray as much as he thought. Pull SD cards and come back.

Out the door for blood draw and then chemo.

Morning folks!

80 was the low last night and 99 today - 106 heat index Cool The carport is nice to have!

El Cam - realized yesterday I forgot to clean up the lower mounting surface (upper firewall) for the windshield - so spent the afternoon on that. Also cleaned up the lower windshield "stops" and mounted them. Today I may piddle with the smog pump install.

Dennis - yup - it's crowded here - tell your friends to think of other states to move to! Whistling

Long day. Blood draw at 9:10, Dr. at 10:15 and chemo at 10:45. Left chemo room at 4:45.   Had extra meds including long term nausea med [I reacted too]. A strong dose of Benadryl. Reason for not leaving until late. Benadryl. Blood pressure was really low and I would not wake up.   Also, had not eaten all day.

Now to watch TV [probably from behind eyelids].

Dr. overjoyed with my progress. Getting new pants as old ones fall off without belt. With belts, "tucks" and "pleats" everywhere.

WOW Banks, I thought you had the shots? If so you have a better chance. This new strain is bad. Angel Hang in there Chief!!! Yes

As for me,

I started looking at the Moped project. (1963 or 1964 Montgomery Ward Riverside,,,best I can tell after looking at all the info I could find) I got this from a friend in the mid 90s. I had it running back then. It has been sitting since. So today our neighbor Butch came by with a cool probe camera and we looked into the fuel tank. Found a lot of rust that we figured on but also found small rocks stuck in the rust from someone, at sometime trying to clean the rust out of the tank. We tried to make it fire but only got a fart from it. So I guess I will order the rust remover for the tank and also clean the carb and try it again. Last it ran was late mid to late 90s? I changed the front wheel today with one that had a good tire. I had extra and gave it a good looking over, adjusting things along the way. It would be nice to get it running again. As Grand-pa McCulley always said, Kevin, don't ever finish all your projects because if you do,,,,you won't have anything to do. This one may take me to the end!!! Thank GOD I put AC in the shed!!!!

Not much else from the North Bluff!

Here is the old tire and wheel.
