I hear you!  When we lived in New Jersey I didn't stop worrying about snow until after May 1st!

Getting caught in a snowstorm in the middle of April while trout fishing will do that to you!

When I was at Rutgers, one year we got 6" of snow around April 25th. Fun times!

Yeah we figure April 15th as last frost here but have been hit later than that. I also recall a guy that planted corn on the 10th of April and got away with that as well, so you never know?

After the shot I drove over to Menards for some sealing paint to touch up the basement wall where I fixed a crack. That is done. Next will be the rest of the white wall.

Snow is melting from yesterday's last blast,,,I hope! Can never tell in March what will happen. Laugh

Morning/afternoon all!

Cloudy, warm, maybe some storms later. For first time in many years - the old adage for March, comes in like a lion and out like a lamb - may be the case?

DJ - lotsa action there - JLC would be proud!

Been tearing down my layout to make a more friendly way of getting to derailments or other things. I'm thinking either 8' x 20'  or 10' by 20' with access thru the 2' going up the middle long way so I would end up with being only 2' max reach anywhere on the layout. Right now trying to get as much as I can into the main part of the house (the train room was a garage I enclosed that was an add-on at some point before I bought the house. And the turn to get into the garage was way too tight to do in my truck without having to go back and forth about 4 times. Use to have to go outside to get to the garage also, so took where there use to be a window and made it bigger and put a window in that spot. so now can access the train room from in the house.

Today was repairing some wall cracks in the basement so I can seal paint. Not a lot else as the weather has taken a big dip. Basement was a good place to get something done.

Banks, Brain is very hard on his Bobcat but he went over the top yesterday. He rented a hammer to break concrete from a broken slab in front of his pole barn and knock out an old well pit. Well, all of the breaking the concrete went well and he just broke it into large parts. So, he returned the hammer and put the forks on the Bobcat to pry the chunks of concrete up, so far so good. Then he put the bucket on. It seems the pad in front of his shed was two layers of 5” cement and as he was pulling it up, he noticed the bucket moving. Then he thought I will just weld it up,,,,,,,,,,NOT, those arms are designed paper thin and have been designed and stress relived just like we did with all of the Caterpillar booms, sticks, and arms. That makes them very strong but any welds for repair need to be relived or they will break at the weld. As his did asap. He hopes to find a used set of arms, new are just shy of 10K. He only paid 18K for the machine???

Afternoon folks!

Some light rain this morning, cleared a bit to partly cloudy, 70. Nice out. Recall we have our BIL's dog. Been walking him every day. He is really good on a leash. BIL did not do well answering social workers questions. When asked if he had any daughters, yes, two, named them. Asked about sons, yes, two, could not name them - he does not have any sons. If it is decreed he cannot live in independent living again, he will not be able to have the dog. His oldest daughter plans to take him should that happen. We are keeping him until that point to avoid bouncing him between homes - confuses him and he gets sad. At this time he has adapted well to us and our house/yard.

Not doing much the last several days - energy levels very low. Good NASCAR race yesterday. Watching the race today and the Gatornationals just prior.

Fife - continued prayers for your mom Angel

EDIT - almost forgot - today is PI day - at 1:59 one could celebrate 3-14-1-5-9! I am sure Buckeye is hung over from all the celebrating!

Hello there.

Prayers for Fifemom.

Kev....how did he manage to break that? Can it be welded?

Went to the show in Altoona this morning.  A large turnout. Lots of new dealers. Bought 2 girder bridges and a gallon baggie full of mostly junk cars. I'll probably salvage brake wheels and couplers then toss the rest. Total investment of $12. Couldn't stay long, today was my turn to deposit the church collection.

Mrs and I got an appointment to get the 1st Pfizer shot March 22.

Progress on the kitchen is slow. The flooring is a pain. Went better after I figured it out, almost done.

Also did a grocery pickup at WalyWorld and visited cardio doc for a followup. No problems other than I'm up a few pounds. Hope to fix that after the weather improves

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Good afternoon all,

Frontier must have had a system wide outage as I was disconnected from work for about 3 hours Friday.  I did a lot of errands Saturday and got the 21 inch mowers ready to go.  Weather has been nice but supposed to get interesting the next few days.  Prayers for Fife's mom.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Kev, hope the wifes B-day party went well.

Don, we had a great time for Sandra's 60th and the weather was perfect.

All of the grandkids and their parents were here at the same time but the two oldest, one working and the other, Dan's from another never shows, but he does cash those checks in his cards. Laugh

There was a lot of playing at the creek, gator driving and dirt bike riding and grilling.

Today is kick back and recover. Wink Clody and cool with winter on the way back. Tongue Tied

My neighbor is sick about what he did to his T190 Bobcat yesterday. He snapped off the bottom of the left lift arm above the bucket pin!!!  Surprise That will be costy! Everybody stay safe!

Good Evening,

Had a good day, did a little work on Chris' house, then watched the Nascar race.  Spectrum came out to troubleshoot/repair some telephone issues.  No cost, hope they actually did something.  Said we were experiencing low signal strength, so they tightened up some connections and cleanned contacts (?).

Kev, hope the wifes B-day party went well.

FIFE, sorry to hear about your Mom?  Prayers for you and your family!!

Chief sounds like your right on top of the spring preparations.

Roy, glad to hear the laser surgery went well for wife.  I wad 3 eye appointments this week!  (Wed Field of Vision Test, Thur Optician for new glasses, Fri eye injection).  All went very well.  (Kay had annual check up on Tues)

All I know from hear, so take care all and be SAFE.

Folks didn't leave until 10 PM last night.

Have a good one.

Howard Zane????? Don't recognize the name. A show in your area should do well. There used to be one in Bedford. It was usually the same weekend as fall York so dealers were few. It disappeared several years ago.

Good morning!

As before - cloudy, overcast, but warm! Storms predicted for tomorrow night.

Mrs. eye procedure went smooth. Apparently after cataract lens replacement (done years ago) a film can grow on the backside of the lens, so they have to use a laser to blast it off.

Been taking it easy the last few days. Got the '09 Tahoe in for service and state inspection yesterday. Oil change, Takata air bag replacement, deep clean of exterior and interior, wax, and the door ding trim (frt passenger door) replaced. Tahoe is black. All new door ding trim is white - so they have to paint it. They will get that done and I will take it back in Mon or Tues for them to install it.

Fife - prayers for your mom Angel

Just got back from PT for the foot. Meds are working on the soreness. Will be headed up the mountain after dinner to tend to FifeMom. My sister is staying there until the end. Tough times.

Thanks for checking in, Shake-and-Bake. I was thinking of you.

Banks - Nothing scheduled for the Fairgrounds. I tried to get our chapter interested in doing an outside train "flea market", but that was met with tumble weeds.

There's a part of me that wants to seek out Howard Zane to learn how to organize my own train show in my region. I think it would work with the right venue. I don't know....Tongue Tied

Sunny but normal temps are back over the next week so it will be on the cool side again.

Good to see you Don! Glad all is well. We are in the vaccine desert here. Guess they want to do all the places where the density is? I agree better safe than sorry.

Kids are planning a surprise party for wifey tomorrow but I think she already knows. Smile, Wink & Grin

Good evening all,

It would be a shame if we had to pay to post.  I would drop out as well, unfortunately and I have been around here before dirt was new.  Enough to do at work to keep me busy but not overwhelming.  Awning is up over the service doors to the pole barn and lean to.  Not sure if they are done done, but what is done looks nice.  Wet weather today.  Did some errands after work.  Ribs are feeling better.  Just have to take it easy.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening,

Its been awhile, no issues, just havent got around to posting.  Have spent quite a bit of time in the train room, serviced over 50 engines, greased, oiled, cleaned wheels, rollers, etc..  Took over a week or two.  Also decided to electrify some shelves that have passenger trains stored on them.  Looking pretty good, IMO.

Kay and I are doing well, got both of the Covid shots, (got the enhanced version with WIFI and Blue Tooth).  Even with a lot of the restrictions being relaxed, I think we will continue to use caution with out activities.

Actually, did go to a train "meet" in a parking lot a couple of weeks ago.  It was well organized and set up, plenty of space between vendors and everyone was masked.   It went pretty well and was fun.

Glad everyone is doing well, so take care all!  and be safe!  Prayers for those in need!

REALLY GLAD to hear Roy is doing so well, Thank Gosh all that is behind you!

Hey all!

A tiny bit of sun - extreme winds - 70's...

The Mrs has a followup eye surgery today so I will be the driver. The clinic is on the other side of town and the procedure is 1.5 hrs. No one other than patients allowed in the building. There is a Lowes and HD close by so I may engage in some 'window shopping'. Gotta book if I can find a nice place to sit (other than the car).

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 46 in the Potomac Highlands.  Temps in the 60's this week, so I placed the palm tree out front on a dolly, so I can wheel it into the garage on cold nights.  Bathroom remod coming along slowly, however the Nurture Green is definitely a Wifey pick. Woof. Ick!  And she poo-pooed my buffalo-head tp holder idea. Grumpy

However, the joint compound applications to the new layout scenery have turned out nice.

We're headed up to visit FifeMom today.  Need to sort out final arrangements...

Banks - I won't be there Sunday. Sigh

Fife.......Prayers for Fifemom. Bummer,  on the show. Any word on the show at the fairgrounds this year.
