Phish - You're very kind, thanks.  The layout is about 60% complete as of now.  Been at it for 3 years.  Look forward to seeing your "empire" in the future.

DJSpanky - I admire your tennacity.  Some of the Brits I watch on youtube (Sam's Trains, Mouldy Raspberry) make their railroads in lofts, and do it well.

Good Evening,
Its been more than a week since I posted last, no reason, writers block.

Banks did ask me to post some pictures of the El Camino, and that has been extremely difficult for me for some reason, so hopefully tonight.

Well that's not going to happen either.  Spent an hour, obviously I'm doing something wrong.  Have been using Shutterfly, but I think its changed.  So will continue working on it.

In the meantime, been working around the homestead, in planters and yard, making progress.  Nothing big, but keeps me busy.

Things about the same with Kay and her mom.  MIL called last night and asked Kay if she could come over and help with the phone.  She wasn't able to call out on it!   :-S  ??

Spanky, you're really doing a good job, especially given the heat.

Speaking of which we're having some significant heat here too.  Suppose to be the hotest week of the summer.  Fortunately in our little corner its only about 86 to 88, other areas nearby its high 90's and 100's.

Did watch the Nascar Daytona Road Races this week-end, and Indy qualifying.

RT I think you move stuff around more than I do.  Then the biggest problem I have is I don't remember where I put stuff.  Good thing you don't have that problem!

Good Evening from clear 70°F Southern Ohio,

Assisted a Mass this morning and at Evening Mass.  Between Mass’ I saw where youngest grandkid needs some exhaust work done hopefully from the resonator back.  Cut some grass, shot the air rifle some cleaned up in the garage and inspected the bee hive.  I may need to add another section as the second section we added is filling up quick.  I want to share some pictures of our hives.

Spank – Looks like a fine example of measure 3 or 4 times and cut once.  Nice work.

Fife & Smokey – I'll look into Shutterfly

Fife – your layout over in the Sunday Photo Fun looks great!

May God bless you and you families

Cloudy and suppose to clear. Went to another town 25 miles away. Ate at Outback which restaurant eating is unusual for us. Enjoyed the steak and family [SIL and her hubby]. Had flooded there and on the way there. Coming back the same. Big rains at SIL's and we only had .25 inches. This is OK as we are wet a plenty.

Off to FIL's to take down a wall. This is getting too much. Be glad when the sell the place. Things change weekly.

I hear Buckeye is sending me a birthday present.  Surprise

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Mornin' boys.  Soggy 67 along the Alleghany front range.  Will be spending time with a paint scraper today...  Did visit my folks yesterday, as my sister and nephew are up for the weekend.  The boy liked his new shark aquarium car.  The local NRHS chapter newsletter arrived, and Wifey and I got a nice write-up about last month's social meeting at Fifedom.

Banks - Some possible scenery officionados there...?  Let me know if you need some help on the tractor the next few months.  Doesn't look like I'll be doing anything soon.

Phish - Shutterfly.  Once you familiarize yourself with the site, it's a snap to post on CTT.  If I can do it, a-n-y-o-n-e can.

anjdevil - I take it Ms. Jen will be relocating to Richland...?

Glad to see you posting again.

Good Evening from cloudy 71°F Southern Ohio,

It rained this morning then cleared up and was really nice.  I washed my bride’s van then spent the rest day burning brush on a stump I’m going to burn out.  While it burned I did a lot of weed eating and picking up branches.  After supper did a little shooting.

Fife, the tug boat looked like the one in your picture in a very basic sense.  I need to get set up to post pictures again.  What are most of you using?  I think I have photobucket.  I’d like to share pictures again.

May God bless you and you families

Hello there.

Phish......Glad to see you posting. Hope you get to show that float after all that work

Been reading but not posting lately.
Another week down. Busy doing nuttin this week, never did get back to working on the Tahoe.

Made some hay, did some gardening and since masters are slim we bought a bushel yesterday. Turning them to soup was our project for today. To many distractions so only got half done but that made 15 quart.

Probably finish tomorrow.

Last evening the littlest granddaughters came to swim, later they wanted to run trains so we did that. There were a couple of pileups.
Fun
Eyes are getting heavy. Bed soon.

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Morning.  Hot and humid but cloudy.  Chance of big rains later???

Being lazy.

Yesterday was Friday 13th on the 14th.  Produce box truck 1 1/2 hours was late.  Half boxes over sized which makes hauling a problem.  Had to recruit Wifey with CRV.  Filled it to the hilt.  Teacher and her three girls had to drop out of delviery due to getting ready for on-line schooling.  In one park, got nail in front and back tire.  Didn't go flat so got them plugged after all the delivers.   Got home later than usual.  Was tired old man.

Got rained on late last night.

Today????

Hope all are well and safe.

Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 67 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  The youngest princess drove the state highways yesterday, as we made our way to Winchester, VA, and Mario's Trains.  She has no problem with the winding mountain roads, or maintaining 55; it's the right turns on two wheels we need to smooth out...  It was great to be in the store again, and I picked up the Lionel shark aquarium car for the nephew, the Lionel exploding target car and ammo dump for the grandson, a pack of Lionel Christmas signs for the North Pole display, and a bottle of MTH Christmas scent.

Phish - Does the tug-on-trailer look like this...?

Afternoon folks!

Not much going on today. Had some good friends who have been socially isolated due to their advanced age (he is 90) over for waffles on the back porch (outside, nice breeze).

Roy, I was having a "tele-con" with one of my physicians yesterday and he asked about ppe's when going out and my comment to him, which drew a chuckle, was that we use proper protocols and we do our shopping during "old farts hours". He said that while he also qualifies for the old farts catagory he prefers to use the term "chronlogically challenged".

Afternoon folks!

Not much going on today. Had some good friends who have been socially isolated due to their advanced age (he is 90) over for waffles on the back porch (outside, nice breeze). We have hosted them a couple of times and they really appreciate how careful we are and having a chance to get out of their house for a couple of hours. We had a very nice time. Always enjoy their company and lotsa stories about their younger days.

DJ - looking good!

Phish - I would be parading that float around every opportunity!

Good Evening from cloudy 79°F Southern Ohio,

Weatherman calling for thunder storms Friday.  That’s ok I could spend the time cleaning up and putting away stuff.

One of the things I was doing while away was building a float.  The oldest girl is the high school’s representative to be the Queen for a large festival usually held around Labor Day called River Days.  Boat Races on the Ohio, car shows, entertainment, carnival atmosphere.  We bought a 7 X 16 tandem trailer replaced tires, repaired the brakes, rewired the lights, and replaced the deck.  It’s now a nice trailers and I’m guessing we have about $1500 in it.  Then we built a 16 x 9 deck on top of the trailer rails for the platform. Then I built a tug boat.  After a cardboard mock up I transferred everything to ¼"luan and painted it blue yellow and red.  It turned out pretty neat.  The we got the notice the River Days was cancelled and there would not be a parade.  The River Days Queen pageant and parade may be part of a Winterfest festival we have in late November to kick off the Christmas season.

Morning folks!

A warm day yesterday culminating with nice cooling breezes from some area T-storms. Sat out on the back porch with adult beverages, grilled some 1" bone-in pork chops and sweet corn. Nice evening.

Basically finished the last two window re-frames yesterday with 2 coats of paint. Ran out of caulk to go around the outside brickmould. Will pick up more caulk to finish off on the next trip to Lowes. Will only take about an hour to finish up. They all match now and look much better than previously.

Have a great day all!

Morning. Partly cloudy and super humid. Chance of thunder storms late today. More rain next three days. When it rains it pours.

Not much on agenda today.

Bucks in the field at farms. Sent by my farmer. Says there all the time.

Maybe great hunting this season.

Have a good one.

BTW: site didn't want to open earlier. Sad

Mornin' boys.  Damp and 72 along the Patteson Creek cut-off.  Won't be painting outside today, but not to worry.  As I was working on the shed yesterday, little did I know that the womenfolk were in the main bathroom stripping the wallpaper off, and scraping down the walls.  Whoa boy.  No turning back now with this latest project...

Did run the trains for FifeMax during the evening thunderstorm.  No pile-ups.  Actually, the fleet (2 Lionel Generals, 1 AF Frontiersman, 1 Williams 10-wheeler) has been operating flawlessly as of late.

Good Evening from clear 77°F Southern Ohio,

Thanks for the welcome back.

Bride made great spaghetti and meatballs for supper.  Then off to a church related meeting.  Home to work on a presentation, and a quick check in before bed.

We’ve ate at the Montgomery Inn and it is good food.  Time for bed 0445 comes way too soon.

May God bless you and you families

Hey Phish, good to hear from ya ! Don't sweat the small stuff, I don't visit as much as in the past.

I spent part of my youth in Covington, part of the time in town the other part South of town on the farm. With having family there now you have justification for some family dinners at the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse, absolutely fabulous b-b-q especially the ribs.

Later !

Quick blow through.....

Line/Exec meeting last night, it was good to be back with the FD live and in person....

Mom has her appointment for a cardiologist at U of Penn on Tuesday - hoping for good news and a better outcome.

Nice weekend was over too soon, Spent quality time with Mom and Jenni.  My Princess is working retail and will be off this weekend as they go camping near Knoble's in PA.  Will be babysitting my cat Smurf.  Mom is going to DC on Saturday to visit my brother and SIL, he just had a total knee replacement.

Saturday I have to return the generator and maybe get some alone time, Jenni is working until 4 - may have her come to my house for dinner and a movie.

Work continues to suck, but right now, it pays the bills.

HEY PHISH!!!

Worked for the County yesterday all day. Hot and humid with big chance of showers. Probably mow again since lots of showers coming next few days.

Gas prices dropped greatly except in Rolesville. 35 cents per gallon higher. Why would anyone buy their gas? Some still at the pumps. 3 miles away. cheaper gas.

Prayers for the mid west.

Have a good one.

Morning folks!

Hot as expected - 100's heat index - nothing new there CoolUmbrella

Worked all day yesterday on the windows reframing/new trim. I am on the last 2 and all the parts are cut and fitted. Got one of the two nearly completed with caulking on the internals. Need to sand it down, paint, and caulk the exterior/brick mold. The last window, parts will get installed today, with sand, paint, and external caulking tomorrow. Will be very happy when this project is finally done.

Phish - great to hear from you! Glad you guys are doing well!

Kev - hope the Ms's sprain heals quickly!

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 72, but calling for flash floods later.  I'll paint just a little then.  Kelly and I went up to my folks' place, and I moved furniture around to make Mom a little more comfortable.

Phish - So many things to feel "embarrassed" about in life; not posting here shouldn't be one of them...K?  Check in when you can, and it will always be as if you never left.  Glad you are making progess on the AF pike.

Wink.  Hope she can make it but it is not looking good.  So I am the caregiver once again. I told the kids thay will have to carry her to the boat. Smile, Wink & Grin

Good Evening from clear 79°F Southern Ohio,

It has been a long time since I’ve posted.  Banks sent me a text and motivated me to set aside my embarrassment for not keeping in touch and drop a line or two.

My bride and I are doing well.  She lost her mom in March and they are still settling stuff with the estate.  The twins are going to be seniors and the youngest is now a junior in high school.  Our youngest daughter has moved back east to Covington Kentucky, across the river from Cincinnati so she is now just a couple hours away.  We’re planning a whole kitchen redo as if I don’t have enough already to do.

Work is going great.  I’m real excited about the project we’re doing.  Very interesting.

Layout is coming along, just a lot slower during the summer.

I’ll try harder to stay in touch

May God bless you and you families

Shame it didn't blow in Sunday night, might have cut down on some of the Chicago looting. Probably not, they would have just rescheduled for Monday Nite.

Was anyone affected by that derecho that blew across the Midwest yesterday? That was some nasty stuff, I heard they had straightline winds in some places that topped 112 mph. Looks like it did a lot of damage.

Yep DJ came through the North Bluff. 70 to 80MPH for about 15 or 20 minutes. Trees down and limbs all over the yard. No power for 6+ hours and then the wife had to go outside, slip and screw up her ankle. Heading to the doctors now for that! Looks like it was evem worse for DougM than us. It was something for sure.
