Yeah, it won't match Williams "Blue Comet" cars either if you happen to run into any of them, but they've been out of production for quite some time anyway.
$400 sounds a bit much for a Proto-1 engine, at least to me, but on the other hand that's one you don't see too often. Scale size maybe at that price, "Rail King" semi-scale I wouldn't think so. "Supply and demand" I guess. Do what you think is right.
Hey, last year I paid $350 for a Lionel CNJ Camelback, used-like-new and a 1990 (or so) production. More than I wanted to but you just don't see them anywhere. On the other hand several months after that I bought another Lionel Camel in NYO&W markings contemporary to the CNJ one for $250. Go figure.
Happy Friday Eve....Picked up Jenni and got her crickets for her frogs and then off to West Trenton. Exchanged some pleasantries with some of my friends in the association and then off to Trains and Things. Jenni was excited and impressed. I'd rather a Lionel but they are so very pricey....Ran off to dinner and had a nice time. We talked to one of the patrons during soup and he left during dinner. He is a postal worker and a really cool dude. Our server sat with us as well after dinner. You would think we were the cool kids on the block, lol.Got back and fed the frogs and the guinea pigs and was home by midnight.Awoke to a rescue call that wasn't at 3 and finally back to sleep about 4. May go to bike night close by if Jenni feels up to it.Back to work

Jim, I thought the same. I pulled it home empty up I39 at 77 MPH and you would not know it was there. It has a stone, (option) guard in front of it that deflects the air and any road trash down and under it. That may be a help empty, but I don't see me pulling it empty much. What I like is even my old 68 year old A$$ can just lift it on to and off of the hitch without any problem. The Gator is 1,200lb and the trailer can haul 1,800 before it is close to limit so it is all good for what I need.
The boy is already looking at ways to use it,,,,,go figure!!!
BTW,,,,still can't log off this site, shows how much CTT cares about their users. WTH???

Got home from work and cut grass again for about an hour along the drive way. After supper split some wood then put some corn in the feeder.
Rich – Over the weekend the city workers went to repair a sinkhole in a parking lot and came upon the basement of a building that was the Yellow Cab station in the early 1900’s. They had tore down the building then put down blacktop over the basement.

Some thoughts on the 500. First of all, watching on TV creates a vacuum. Watching a race with no fans was like viewing one of the Iraces video game events that were on in April and May except the Iraces were not as costly if an accident occurred. The yellow flag at the end was due to lack of TV time left. Cut out the over hour of pre-race blathering that meant absolutely nothing and you might have had time for a red flag restart. Probably would not have changed the outcome as Sato had Dixon covered. Dixon's mistake was letting Sato get by him with 30 laps to go. Counting on a one lap fuel advantage with the same engine as your opponent was not going to work. Sato was GONE! Roger Penske truly loves IMS. Anyone hearing him before the command to start engines could tell how emotional he was. Shortly after the start, I turned down the TV sound and had the radio on thru a phone app. Much better information. Foyt team had a lousy day. TK was running a fuel conserve mode the last stint which dropped him a ton of positions. They determined that wheel on fire was due to a locked brake from a bent brake line. Rossi's penalty was a judgment call. Could have gone either way. It did take him out of contention for sure and eventually out of the race. All this talk about being there in May won't occur unless there is a vaccine or everyone has been exposed to COVID. Ratings were the worse ever due to August date and the constant deterioration of fan presence. IMS has to hope for full fan participation the next time. I went to a Silver Crown race Friday night at Lucas Oil Raceway in neighboring Hendricks County and the Silver Crowns raced on dirt in INDIANAPOLIS at the state fair grounds the night of the 500 WITH fans!!!! So far Lucas and I are going to WWT (Gateway) this weekend to watch wheels turn (fingers crossed). Mid-Ohio may run September 12-13 with only 10,000 fans if authorities permit (no guarantees). Only bright light in this mess of a year is my soccer teams are all .500 or better. I read where the Colts are planning 25% attendance. Explain to me how you can have 15,000+ in a city block and not 75,000 on 300 acres........ I have no idea what to think about anything any more. Congrats to Fifedog on soon to be new addition to family! Those of you with car projects, good on you as well. I hope all of you have a good day. I will follow the posts. If any of my "real Football" teams win a sectional title or AJ's team gets a win, I will post that.

Happy Tuesday.....Went shopping after work last night, after which my phone took a dump and is currently booting and rebooting itself. I set my other alarm and almost missed my 615 doctor's appointment. And still, it keeps trying to turn itself on. A trip to the phone store might be in order.....Doc got blood and urine samples this AM, breathing tests completed. Got some nose meds and next appointments for my primary on Monday and my allergist on Tuesday. Looks like no late sleeping for me next week.85-90 today, storms after 2, other than that no other news. Last night was uneventful, so Jenni was fine. Our family have had ghosts in our houses before, this one seems benighn.
Just a short post today - tomorrow off to West Trenton Fire for "caucus" just voting for next State Association president and a couple of other minor issues. Normally would have voted at Wildwood but this has been cancelled .
Morning. 90 and humid. Going back to 90+ days and over 100 heat index. That high pressure thingy steering the hurricane away from us is bringing summer temps back. Why we went to the farms yesterday. Hurricane and tropical storm is now missing my rifle buddy in NOLA and headed to fishing buddy at T Bend. Maybe it will die like the tropical storm.Universities here are shutting down to on-line classes. Too many virus outbreaks on campuses. Should have never opened. Forced by Republican majority legislature. Now some school systems that reopened are having outbreaks. Wake and most large districts are all on-line. Private schools have had problems but keeping it quite. Hit social media when first opened. Schools told parents to not publicize after that.Resting up today. Rest of week full of County things. Friday may be the last produce box delivery. Depends on USDA extension of grant.Stay safe and well.

Back from farms. Shooting lane cleared for new stand movement. Fred wasn't with us so got it done and happy. We also repaired shoot range backstop. Did it OUR way and not Fred's. Found Fred did not hook up battery and set timer in my deep woods feeder after he loaded it with corn. I had gone to another feeder. Thanks Fred. Rule is, once you do anything to feeder, you run test. He just put corn in and left.
These guys come about every day to check feeder even though it had been out of corn for two months. At my deep woods stand.

Seriously though, how old is Jenni's house? I'm wondering if there was a house there prior to hers lost due to fire or neglect (or something) and the ruins that couldn't be carted off by the builders of the new house were simply buried on site. A search of town records might give you a clue as to what's been there in the past, or maybe a local historical society might know.
Personally I don't believe in ghosts. At least I don't think I do. I will admit to getting a strange "vibe" the times I've visited the stone wall at Marye's Heights on the Fredericksberg battlefield. A Union soldiers life span could have been measured in seconds there during the height of the battle in 1862.

Looks like I'll have to invest in a big tour pack for the bike....Sunday was at Jenni's, al fresco dining at IHOP, washed Dad's car, got pet supplies for her Guinea Pigs, shopping for her food for the week, did some excavating in the back yard, it looks like the foundation goes down a foot or so, found what looked like a fireplace damper door frame in 2 pieces and 2 red 8 x 12 red pavers or stones in front of where the broken damper is. After an hour of digging - and I was soaked at that point - we called it an afternoon on that. We went back to Mom's house and fed the ferals, then dinner and an episode of Man in the High Castle. Heard footsteps upstairs - there was something or someone up there, but no trace of anything.About midnight Jenni called and said her new fire alarm was going off for no reason. Found out this morning, her clock in the dining room was going off all night (it's a Regulator wind up wall clock). She has the local paranormal group investigating at some point. Very odd considering what's going on in the back yard.80's and humid again today.....I'm good with it, it'll be cold soon enough.

Looks like going to be a good day, (considering Covis, the fires, and storms in the Gulf area). The weather here is comfortable, we aren't having a lot of heat, thanks to the ocean marine layer.
Enjoyed watching the Indy 500 and Nascar races over the week-end. The Indy race finish was really exciting!
Not a lot going on this week just small chores.

Working on the Tahoe some this week. Struggled with the snap fittings for the tranny and oil cooler lines, after I got them out I decided to replace them. Just don't trust them as they were rusted pretty good. All that remains is install the radiator and fill the fluids. Grandson decided he wanted to race this weekend so his uncle (son) decided to take off and go too. Grandson didn't bring him any trophies but did well considering it was his 1st race this year. Son took 1st in the trophy dial in class and 3rd in money dial in. Both classes were near 30 entries. Today was a lazy day. We did get .25 inches of rain from an afternoon thunder boomer. A small fraction of what we need but thankful for what we got. The corn and bean crop is going to be pitiful. Best get to sleep Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Hip Hip Hooray ! After 107* on tuesday followed by 102* thru yesterday it finally cooled off, it only got to 99.5* today. Flintlock, please call your humidity home it sucks when coupled to these temps this week. I am deathly afraid of what our electric bill will be for this past week and a half.
We had some really nasty storms in the mountains to the east yesterday, thunder lightening hail and torrential rains but luckily no fires broke out down this way.
Now they are looking at two hurricanes in the gulf. What's next more quakes in the mid-west and east ?

It was hot today by us as well, 90 or so, but things had to be done, so...
Changed the oil in Lady Firestorm's Kia Soul. I guess the Soul's gotten used to me, this is the first time I've pulled the drain plug where it didn't go "SPURRRRRRT!" and blew oil all over me!
Then, onto cutting the grass and whizzin' the weeds. Must have sweated five pounds off in the process. Had to do it today, weatherfolks say temps are going to the low 90's all week. Yuck.
Home from babysitting duty. Granddogs and cat were easy. Don't let you sleep late. Their Dad gets up early in the AM. So, they think Granddad needs to too.Now for some rest and then get saws and brush cutter ready for tomorrow. Go to farms and clear a shooting lane.Prayers for CA fires and Gulf folks due to hurricanes. Have a good one.
