Good Evening,
Wow, lots of pukies going on, hope it all clears up quick! Hopefully will all be a memory before the holidays.
Had a couple of Dr visits Fri, seems like its getting to be a weekly event. A CT Scan done on my right leg and ankle, just to see if all is well. Then eye tests for Glacoma and field vision tests, all good there also. This week Sleep center mtg, they want to give me an CPAP mask, but dont know why, I sleep well. Then Retna Dr Friday, another injection. I think I've lost all the color in my eyes with all the drops, injections, etc..
Buckeye, best of luck on your upcoming procedure! Doesn't sound like ANY fun at all!
Chief, what are you going to do with all your free time after all the appreciation celebrations are over? Congrats on a job well done! Bet your succssesor is a bit nervous.
Weather was really great here today! Patio was 86! (Maybe because the sun is getting through with all the trees gone.
Enjoyed the NASCAR races this week-end.
Not much else to report on, so take care all!
Don
Afternoon all!
Quick stop. Ms is still under from the stomach virus. Friday - Had to take her to our health providers new local urgent care center (not an ER with the attendant billing). Open 7 days a week 8-8 6 days and 12-5 Sun. She is slowly recuperating and I am still sketchy, but ok...have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Hello there,
today supported a local VFD turkey dinner and a visit with Mom.
Mrs and I are slowly doing Holiday prep. Weight restrictions are getting really old.
Blew a brake line coming home from hunting last December. Bought a set of stainless brake lines but never got around toit. Yesterday broke down and had it towed to my GM mechanic nephew to fix.
Buckeye Riveterthe stupid stone was measured at 18mm.
Buckeye. ..with all the attention on your kidneys how did they miss that stone when it was smaller.????
Best move on.
Prayers for those in need

Morning. No 90 degrees here, Dennis. 44 and real windy. Wind chill in lower 30's. Warming later this week. Staying in and no Church. Will try and get rid of this cold. More nuance than anything.
Have a great week ahead.

Good evening all,
Mulcehed leaves again. Weather was sunny. Dressed for weather. Got the John Deere 21 inch self propelled back from neighbor after he got it running when it had been sitting idle for 2+ years. Purrs like a kitten. Over 30 years old. Will use next summer as back up for Toro. Watched Frozen again tonight. Hope the sequel is good. Good luck, Buckeye with the procedure. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Sun and 30 today. Soared to 35 yesterday but no sun so no snow melt. Fall Saturdays are my football watching days. Much better games than the lowly Lions can play. Our last club meet was at a members house five miles north of Toledo so we made a beer run for a truck full of Yuengs. They are not sold in Michigan. Kinda reminds me of the days when people would bring home Coors from out west.

Yes Banks, the stupid stone was measured at 18mm. The doctor will make a small hole in my right side, insert something into the kidney, break the stone and then suck out all the pieces. I will be in the hospital Friday and Saturday nights. I'm so looking forward to this. NOT!!!

Mornin' boys. Cold out. Working two trains today, and long hours at the yard during the week. Keeping my good shoulder down, and doing what I can to get us over the hump. No time for anything else, as I'm usually passed out by 7.
Youngest Princess came home for the weekend, so that picked me up. Wifey headed back for the grandsons' birthday today.
Busy day at work. Enjoyed a terrific performance by older daughter's 8th grade class musical. Did a great job with Alladin Jr. Well worth the trip. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mrs and I spent the last 2 days doing house stuff. Due to temperature in the 40s this PM was washing windows. More tomorrow.
Buckeye.......18mm......OUCH!!!!!!
Ready to crash.
ChiefEagles Something wrong with my new handheld Stihl leaf blower. Took three pulls to get it to crank. Usually Stihl only takes one. Guess it was because hadn't been crank in a couple of weeks.

Chief, My BG86 usually takes 3 to 4 depending on how cold it is. 1 when it is warm. I have had it for close to 10 years now. Never let me down.

Thing is just plain good.
It is all the way up to 40 degrees today. They said today that so far this is the coldest November in history here.
Wife had her pre-op blood draw and EKG today. I have been leaving old CTT and Lionel catalogs at the waiting rooms just to see if they are still there the next time we go back. One way to get rid of them.

Rainy and 46 degrees.
Retirement party this afternoon/evening.
Later.
Busy two days at work. Went to see Midway Wed. night. Good flick. Did not get good reviews, but I thought it did a good job of portraying what really happened. Showed some events I was not aware of. So you still learn stuff. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good afternoon
Well Plan B kind of worked,,,
I replaced Humidifier cover and motor with the one I got off E-bay that had everything but the controller. Should of took right off but did nothing. So I had to install the old transformer board into it to make the fan work. Seems okay now and I still have all the other parts for spares. What a PITA!!!
It may make it to freezing today.
Buckeye, If you can't get that leaf blower working, get a Stihl BG86 gas, best hand held leaf blower you can get, hands down!
Thanks Roy, things are falling into place. Dr said yesterday the operation only takes an hour and twenty minutes and will leave a 5" cut. WOW! She will spend the night in the hospital and come home the next afternoon.
Morning. 46 and thats up from 25. Cloudy and breezy so it feels colder. Rain moving in this evening for a few days.
Had early meeting with Charter School Principal and its Board Chair [my developer GF]. Wifey now excited on gardening projects and teaching gardening to the kids.
Got dermatologist appointment this afternoon. Followed by political event this evening. County Commissioner friend has her campaign kick off.
Buckeye, tell your two bucks to come to deep woods lane and feeder in Edgecombe County, NC. Plenty of good corn and no snow. Green food plots too.
All stay warm [except Shake and Bake, who has perfect weather].
Morning folks!
44, sunny, 56 for a high today. Sweet!
Everyone here has mostly recovered except the wife. She is still down, got it worse than any of us.
DonB - nice trip Chris had!

Been working on Chris' old room, started painting today. Got the 1st coat on the closet, doesn't look too bad.
Speaking of Chris, he had a 3 day meeting at Lake Tahoe, (work related, all attendees were state employees). Everyone was required to make a presentation, about 50, topic was of THEIR choice. Chris did one on a couple of his projects at the mine. Went well. He coordinated the trip with a trip to Vegas, Pharump, visiting Round Mountain Mine, active gold mine, then Tahoe. When he was finished was deciding which way to come home, and remembered his travel mileage with Southwest Airlines. So took a flight to Hawaii from Oakland, then back this past Sunday. Drove down here on Veterans Day. Had dinner with him last night, he had a lot of great pictures.
Buckeye RiveterAfter ten plus years of hard use, my electric leaf blower died. It is a Toro. Has anyone ever fixed on of these?
Buckeye, I had the same problem with my leaf blower. Then remembered it also has a vacuum feature, the door to the vacuum adapter was slightly ajar. Closed the "door" and it started up right away. Might want to check that.
Dougdg, That is one terrific trophy you have! Love it!!!
Take care all!
Hello there, 18 here this AM. Went to Mass, a 9AM appointment then stopped for breakfast on the home, turned out to be brunch as it was after 11 when we left the restaurant. A little house stuff and watching a movie were the rest of the day.
Troubleshoot like an engine. Open it up and check continuity in the cord. Then through the motor. Could be a worn out brush. Anything more than that and it's probably not worth fixing.
Bed is calling.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 27 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Snohizo last night, causing slick roads in area. Lots of vehicles on the parking lot of my local tire place this morning. I got myself 4 new "feel-goods" and a state inspection sticker.
Phish - As soon as our media guy does a video, I'll link same.

Good morning from a 14 degree North Bluff above Marseilles.
Roy, I have my Flu shot! Yep, lots of people in a small space can be bad.
Taking wife to a pre op Dr. apt then PT today, So when she is in PT I am going to menards to pick up a few things with my Menards rebate money.
Well, Plan B,,, So the Humidifier needs a motor because it is stuck as well and a support and they cost more than half of what a whole new one cost, $250 to $300 depending on where you get it. So I found a new one on E-bay less the controller for $144 with the shipping and ordered that. Those two parts I needed would have been $156 + shipping and this gives me everything else. This one should just slip right on the old mount and be good to go. I hope,,,,
Chief,,,33 ,,,
High 20's this am headed to 50 today. We will be back to 70 next week - as it should be!
Well, many of the wedding party got sick. We had a bridesmaid not feeling well at the Sat rehersal brunch and somewhat off during the wedding/reception. So the wife, my son, sister, BIL, new SIL, and several others have been down for the count since Mon night...ugh...still trying to shake it off. All us "oldies" had flu shots.
Glad I am retired....
Warmed to 33. Ouch. Errands and stuff to do today.
Have a good one.
Good morning from a beautiful clear COLD 15°F Southern Ohio,
I’m on nightshift this month and I’ve been reading the posts but not much to say and too tired / busy to post. Doing yard work, washed all 27 windows on the house, and keeping up with the kid’s activities.
Grandson has a nice 8 pt that we’ll get mounted and I picked up the meat from the butcher yesterday. I saw a really nice buck this evening but it was getting too late for a shot and still be able to get to work on time. Later this morning I’m going to give blood at the blood drive before going to bed. I’ve been working with the youngest granddaughter setting up a 10 gallon aquarium in her room. That has been fun. And now that the house is now all washed down and sealed, I’m going to dive back into finding the vacuum leak on the ranger truck, and of course more hunting to fill the freezer with venison.
Mike C - Those days when all seems to fall into place are a real blessing
Kev - Yea, those days are just the opposite of what Mike C had
Chief - it seems like fewer young people are getting into hunting these days. I guess they would rather play on a screen than experience what is real
Roy - sounds like the wedding was a big success.
Rich - prayers for peace for your dad
Fife - the lights on the train sounds neat. Could you try to post a picture?
Banks - congrats on 44 years!
I need to go and check on the guys in another building
Good night and may God bless you and your families
Jim
Hello There,
word of the day is cold. Upper teens tonight .
Spent yesterday in shirt sleeves. Mrs and I did some outdoor winterizing and I offered moral support as son drug out a wagon that hasn't moved in a couple of years. 2 of the 4 tires were shredded due to broken steel belts. Replaced them with tires saved in the barn. He spent the rest of the day filling it with ear corn for grinding feed this winter.
The rest will be shelled and sold. So so crop so far. He's sold some and kept enough to feed with about 33% left to pick.
Today was rain then $now flurries while we went shopping mainly for needed stuff and a couple for Christmas .
Bed calls, Prayers for those in need
.
Sometimes a day goes way better than expected. Was NOT selected for jury duty so that was a weight of worry off my mind, not so much for doing the judgment as in getting behind at work toward the end of the year. Did Christmas shopping with wife and that went better than expected. Worked on layouts and accomplished way more than I thought I would. Best of all, stayed home from work and missed a potentially messy traffic situation. As AJ would say, "All in all, it was a good day." I hope everyone has a good day.
Good afternoon,
Roy I am glad the wedding and visits went well for you and yours. I will be glad to take your 22 degrees if you will take our 8 we had when I got up.
Went first thing this morning and got my blood draw for next weeks Dr. apt.
Sometimes it feels like I can't catch a break. Worked yesterday on the whole house filters and the peroxided flow pump switch. All seemed just fine, then last night I heard it running when there was no water running so I got to do all that over again today. Then as long as I was down there I thought I would check the whole house humidifier operation. When I turned it on it made all kinds of noise. Shut it off and looked inside. Darn motor support made of plastic was in 50 pieces. WTH? So it needs a new motor and a support and they cost more than half of what a whole new one cost so looking for a plan B. UGH!!!
Oh well?
Morning. Temps dropping slowly. Raining hard. May get a mix at the end of the event. Real cold tonight and tomorrow.
Yesterday was a busy one. Morning Veterans' Day thingy. Afternoon, getting deer from processor and to Son and family [across the county].
Errand and garden club tonight.
Stay warm and dry.
22 this morning, 1 degree shy of the record. Wowzers!
We did a family dinner with the in town relatives (they depart today) at a classy seafood restaurant. Good meal until about 5:30 am.... Ugh...blech...
Anj - continued prayers for your father
