Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work.  Got caught up on everything, which is good.  Sun was out so it was nice for walking.  Not much else going on.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Came down with a head-cold this week.  Figures, finally had off a string of days, yet felt like dookiedoo.  Gonna be nasty cold tomorrow for the train, and I gotta get down to the yard for a few odds-and-ends.

rt - Fifepup just got a little seasonal work at the Office Depot in Lexington.

SPMan - Angelfor your brother.  I've heard of Capt. Bill.

Morning,

Got my Red Cross RapidPass, done and will bleed at 12:30. SIL Dan is coming out at 9:00 to sit in the stand. He is bringing grand-son Jordan with him to spend the night with us.

Sealed the deal on our headstone and that is about it.

Guten abend,

I have been absent the past week or so. From 2-5 Nov, the wife and I were in Rome. I had to travel there for work and since the FIL is here the wife tagged along with me. This was my fifth trip to Rome and it never gets old.  It is an amazing city and I enjoy something new about it every visit. I have been busy at work and with the usual family stuff upon my return and have had no time to post.  Tonight was the first night I was able to relax before 10 PM. Although tomorrow is a day off since Veteran's Day is Saturday, I need to go to work for a few hours.  I hope everyone is doing well.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening,
Built a nice bonfire for me and the grand-kid Jordan but he got cold and decided cartoons were better in the house. So I have been watching the fire with a few beers. Calling for 17 degrees tonight.

Here is a good one, went to give blood, had a time slotted got there in time, some other guy with a time slotted a half hour after me was in front of me and they ran him first? Why set a time if you get there on time and they go in order of walk ins?

To beat that , get this, So I had all my paper work done on line in advance, I am in the chair, she knows where to stick the draw needle, nothing less to do but bleed right? The on-line connection goes down and they all stop dead and don't move a mussel. I ask what does a internet connection have to do with me bleeding out? Oh we can't do it if we are line down. GOD help us if something happens to the grid!!! 45 minutes later I tell them sorry but I am done here. Maybe next time.

Sun but 20 degrees. 30 for the high today.

My sights are on Thanksgiving dinner, happens every year about this time. I feel a Burp coming on already.

Aloha. Have I really not checked in yet this month? So sorry. Like down 'south' at Kevin's, it was 12 up here this morning - felt like 2... I felt sorry for the hoody-wearing teens at the bus stop. It wasn't the best morning to get my usual very-short-hair cut. Ray, praying for your brother. SJ, I can't believe turkey day is in less than 2 weeks!

Guten tag, Joe. That reminds me - can I thank our veterans here now because their day is 'observed' today or wait until tomorrow? I thank each and every one of you who have served (and suffered like you, RT) for your commitment!

Breakfast out this morning with my train buddies.  10% discount for veterans.  Lot of them at the restaurant.  Had a big breakfast, three egg bacon, avacado and cheese omelet, hash browns and busquits and gravy. Had to bring some home.  Cloudy cool weather in the mornings this week and afternoon sun.  Love it!  Good for running trains in the garage.

Good afternoon, Not as cold here as Doug's but still cold.

RT, I got the replacement Kidde fire extinguisher today. They supplied a return label so I could send them the bad one. That was fast.

Saw for the second time one of the two Red foxes we have on the property. Neat looking. George the cat is not so sure he likes them. Laugh

Guten abend,

Today was busy as I expected.  I spent a little over six hours at the office, but at least it was productive. No one else was there which always allows me to focus.  The wife, FIL, and I ate at a Mexican restaurant for dinner while we waited for the Princess to finish ballet class.  We baked a DiGorno pizza for the boys and they watched Zootopia.  Tomorrow we have house chores and more taxiing to do as the Princess has ballet recital rehearsal in the afternoon.   I am jealous of you who have cold weather.  It has been in the low 40s and rainy here.  I would like some sub-freezing temps and snow.

Prayers for Ray's brother.

Kev - That is a shame you were unable to donate; it doesn't make sense either.

Thanks Doug.

Good night,

Joe

Evening all!

Weather holding in 50's and clear. Still T-shirt and occasional hoodie when breezy.

Forgot to post yesterday. Busy. Got two windows out for glass repair. 3 insulated double panes - about $160. Should have them back late Monday. Holes plugged with plywood. While running across town to the glass place, the Ms and I spent a couple of hours at a big flea market/antique mall in that area. Found a couple of Corning microwave dishes we needed for $15.

Ray - continued prayers for your brother.

Uh Joe? - Digorno and Mex food - are you still in Germany????

Banks - enjoy the show tonight and TCA/museums tomorrow!

SJ - have you avoided the snow in MI?

Regards, Roy

Morning all!

Well the white crap is here big time!! Sad I'm glad I gave the snow blower a once over earlier in the week.

Nothing much on the go today. I'm going to the brother in laws for College Football Saturday. We were going to tailgate/BBQ today, but we might need to rethink it!

A big THANK YOU!!!!! to any of the Vets here, as well as any currently serving (Joe). I think of my grandfathers who served and my other brother-in-law who is still suffering from PTSD from Afghanistan. I sent him in a message this morning and I hope to someday reconcile that relationship.

Ray - prayers for your brother.

Dennis - glad you're okay. Trust me, stumbling over the dog leash is not an "old age" problem!

Have a good one.

Morning all!

Clear crisp 38 right now. Mid-50's for highs continue. It is very pleasant.

Dennis - glad you are pretty ok after your fall. Hope there are no other issues that pop up from it. Angel

Mike C - yesterday was quite the pleasant day for you and the family! Thumbs Up

For the Vets - thank you!

Roy there has been some snow in the the upper half of Michigan. Nothing here yet. However Sunday's forecast is for rain mixed with some wet snow. Won't stick though. High of 40 tomorrow.

Hello there,

Thanks to all our Vets!!!!!!

The story of Christmas at Sight and Sound was incredible.  Recommend you see it if possible.

Spent a couple hours today at the TCA museum in Strasburg. Really enjoyed it but a bit disappointed that the bulk of the HO on display is Marklin. Then to the nearby National Christmas Center. A great place. A couple of displays dedicated to the 50s and trains too.....Bummed to learn the place is closing in January next year. The owner is elderly and trying to sell lock stock and barrel.

Then Mass and back to the camper. It was 19 last night so I filled the water tank and put the hose away.Mrs is already crashed. I'm gonna do the dishes and join her.

Prayers for those in need

Guten morgen,

Yesterday turned out to be quite a busy day. I took care of some normal chores in the morning, then took the boys to see the Lego Ninja movie, and then drove the Princess to and from ballet. While she was at ballet, I killed time by going to the German version of Home Depot to buy a light bulb and visiting a BMW dealership. I bought a well-used BMW when we arrived here and enjoy driving it. I am a fan of the 4-series sedan. Upon returning home I began making coconut curry and managed to slice my thumb while slicing sweet potatoes and required a trip to the ER. I did not need stitches as they were able to use glue to reattach the flap. I eventually had dinner and it turned out great. After all that I was ready for bed. Today, I depart for a work trip to Turkey and will be there until Friday night. I may not be able to post while I am there. Enjoy your Sunday.

Roy - Yep, still in Germany; just taking the easy route on dinner. Big Smile

Good day,

Joe

Mornin' boys.  Clear and 27 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.

The WMSR has been recognizing veterans the past 2 weekends, and gifting them free hotdogs and beverages (my idea).  While folks are waiting to board, I spot check for military caps and clothing, ask them about their service, and honor them over the PA system over the 3 hour trip.  I think it has been well received, and the passengers spontinaously applaud after each tribute.

Demay - Safe travels, sir.

Banks - I've become a big fan of bubble lights over the past few Christmas seasons.
