Mitchie - Perhaps we can borrow a micro-bus.  Laz can be Ray.  You can be Terrance.  And I could be Archie.  If you build it, we will come.  And drink your Beer.  And eat all of your PizzaPizza.  And ZzzZzz on your couch.

I feel like I've been training for this moment all my life.

Morning.  Fair, 74 degrees and 90% humidity.  Off to local bakery as it is NATIONAL DONUT DAY.  Opened my big mouth the other day.  Seems someone told folks to meet the Mayor there this AM at 8.  Go out and get some donuts.

Good evening all,

Good day at work as pain two was gone all day.  Good walk at noon.  Took forever to mow the ^*(&^*(^*^ yard.  Suppose to get easier at the season goes on, not harder.   Sometimes I curse the day I saw this house.  Wife fell in love with big yard because it reminded her of her home growing up in the country.   She never mowed that yard and I can count on one hand the times she has mowed the current one.  Doubt if she would love the place as much if she had to care for it....  End of soapbox rant.  Tired just tired.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening to all.  Today was day 4 and 1/2 out of 8 and a 1/2 use 'em or lose 'em vacation days. I think I'm going like this retirement gig.  Tomorrow is also a day off, then I have 3 more scheduled. I got a nice walk in before the sun popped out. Later I cut the lawn and trimmed. Many more chores on the honey-do list.

Grilled some salmon on a cedar plank and also grilled asparagus and had some corn on the cob for dinner. Tomorrow we will have dinner with some friends who spend the winter in Florida. Should be fun.

The dental issues everyone is chatting about remind me of my last visit for a cleaning. I was having absolutely no issues until the hygienist got to digging around in there and now my one tooth is sensitive to cold. I think I need to find a new dentist. Fife your offer to help Doug is very generous.  Maybe we should plan a road trip, you, me, Laz, and any other retirees on the forum could make a cross country run to help run trains at the museum and then turn around and come home.

dougnottagrump - It just so happens that I've got ab-so-lut-ly nothing going on this Sunday.  Or the following day.  Orrr the day after that.  If you guys want to pull your resources and purchase me a round-tripper from BWI, I would be happy to help out in this difficult time.  And with the Rock-n-Roll marithon going on, I could bring my ukulele along, making me a double-threat.  And if things suddenly go wrong at the echocardiogram, I know how to use an AED, kinda making me a triple-threat...

It really is all about helping others. Cool

Fife, Ain't it great being retired !

Now as far as passing the hat for donations for a flight, even with the addition of the uke, although it sounds great I doubt it would be successful.

As far as the AED, I've got my own built in defibrolator. That's why I always warn everybody that if you see me on the floor acting strange I'm not practicing new breakdancing moves it's only my defib shocking me. Smile, Wink & Grin

Echo went OK, the only bad part was they did some views with the addition of some sort of dye, better clarity/definition in the heart chambers. They did the same thing almost 1 year ago to the day and their ability with placing the IV was just as bad today as last year.Blindfold

Everything for tomorrow is packed and in the garage for tomorrow's run. Now I need to look at packing some stuff for Sat/Sun if I can't come up with some volunteers. Maybe an appropriate incentive PizzaBeerDrinks .  Smile, Wink & Grin

Good news bad news kind of morning.

Good news, Angiogram for next week has been canceled.

Bad news, It has been replaced with a cardiac catherization. Must be things going on in there that they want to see "up close and personal".

We are short handed for the weekend, only one operator each day. Sunday will be the toughest to get additional help. All the different road closures for the "Rock-N-Roll Marathon" will be making it difficult for some people to get to the museum. Would hate to be a tourist who came in for the weekend and not be able to get around the city with all this falderol going on.

Time to get gussied up for my echocardiogram.

Later all.

Been a while since I last posted.  We were in Michigan last week - 2 day seminar, then two more days of vacation.  Nice trip, but glad to get home.

The Scott Jophlin ragtime festival started today.  But, being a working stiff, I have not had time to check it out.  Probably will do that on Saturday.

There was a car show downtown a couple of weeks back.  Bunch of interesting stuff was there - a '59 Ford hardtop convertable, a '62(?) Corvair station wagon, some sort of right hand drive Toyota sport coupe thing.

No train activity lately.

Good luck to youse guys out there with your dentist and doctor appointments.

About all for now.

Penny Trains

Oh BOY do I have dental stories!  Ick!  And you know what's strange about at least 99% of them?  There's ALWAYS some kinda dental blow up right after I decide it's safe to expend some funds on trains!  Tongue Tied  And the level of dental nonsense is directly proportional to the cost of the trains.  I spent 400 dollars on a locomotive onece and a week later had an absess!  Ick!  This time, a 20 dollar boxcar led to a stainless steel crown lifting and me biting a hole through the center of it without even realizing what was going on!  Tongue Tied  Still waiting for the dentist to find out wether or not it's covered since it was only installed last November.

Anyhoo.  At least I have Medicaid these days rather than being broke all the time.

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Good walk at noon.  Had some rain on the way home and a traffic jam due to road construction, but I was not driving.   Got our game in tonight, but I gave up 8 goals in a 11-0 loss.   Maybe it is time to hang up the cleats.....   Will see how the rest of the season progresses.   Should be quiet day at work tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening from beautiful warm 89°F Southern Ohio,

Got in on the first page!  Hard to believe it’s June.  Going to be a busy month.  Vacation, then into 4-H projects.  Gotta get started on that chicken coop.  Maybe this weekend.

Dennis – Sounds miserable.  I’ve got all mine with only a few fillings.  I have one that I chipped as a kid and has not degraded beyond being chipped.

May God bless

Jim

Sunny and 88 in beautiful south central PA. I am enjoying a few vacation days this week. When the week is over, I will have 3 days more to use before June 30.  Spent some time outside getting rid of some poison ivy.  That stuff is wicked. I carefully pulled some that were wrapped in a hosta that I want to save. The rest I sprayed.

Hoping to cut the lawn tonight after it cools off.

Take care,

Mitch

V8 Dennis, sorry you have so much to endure with the dental work.  I feel your pain about toothless days when working on dentures.  No fun!  I'm trying to hang on to what I have left.  Only about 10 original teeth left.  All the rest are on dentures.

Aloha, Stormed during my walk to the train yesterday and again, this morning. It's a long-enough stroll that no matter how I dress, I end up getting wet. Ah well. Sending the rain off to points east!
