Good evening all,

Better day weather wise.  Did some more yard work and made final preparations for kitchen re-do.   Wife will be gone for 3 days to be with grandson.  First day of practice at track.  Definite lack of drama this year as there are only 33 entries, which means qualifying has NO significance except for the pole position.   It is a really sad state of affairs.  My solution would be to restrict the chassis cost to $100,000 (think tube frame sprint car chassis) and production based engines with two sizes based on normally aspirated and turbocharged options, but what do I know.  Any engine, any chassis would have to be available to all after the first year it wins the race.  Watched the season finale of Jane the Virgin tonight.  Good episode and good cliffhanger.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Better today,,57 and sun will hit mid 60 later. Wife is on count down to retirement. 3 days left and it is over. The high school won't be as safe anymore with her not guarding the halls. And I am going to have to learn how to live with her around all the time.  Surprise

RT I do have a ZW I got from Frank. It runs the main loop, inner loop, and burro crane bumper track. The LW was for lights, and accessories. Never liked the humm it had so the 1044 was a great fix. There is a CW80 on the kids side.

I am with you Jim, I like the fixing as much as the running.  Wink

Aloha and thank you for the birthday wishes! It was a good birthday - I spent it enjoyably browsing local antique stores and flea markets. I did find a few Tom Swift books but everything train-related was very overpriced. I did try cajoling the bride into buying a sailboat but no dice. Big Smile But she made me a red velvet birthday cake! Looks like a warmer week. Hope you feel better, Rich.

Good Morning from cool (34F) Southern Ohio,

All that's left on the Utility Room project is a little touch up and painting the exterior door and the bride is happy.

Don - Sounds like your project is wrapping up too.

Rich - I forget; what year is your Roadrunner?

Kev - The restorations and refurbs is my favorite part of the toy train hobby.  Maybe I’ll cruise the bay and see about another project now the bride is happy

Doug - Happy Birthday

Off to work

May God bless

Jim

A belated Happy Birthday to Doug M.

Spent the day in, getting a sore throat and I'm self medicating....just what I didn't need.

Nice day in Rahway yesterday big car and bike show.  Whole center of town closed off.  Roadrunner ran like a champion.

Off to bed....

Good evening all,

Weather was slightly warmer today.  Mowed the yard at normal height and did some major trimming.   Still more to do but good enough for now.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Kevin I thought you had a ZW for a transformer. 1040's are great transformers also. Thats what I had as a child.

I had a LW at one point hink I gave it to someone as the one I sent with the set didn't work.

Not much going on here today been very comfortable out side today. I worked in the garage for a while putting new wires on dual switch controllers had 4 to do.

Hope all had a good day

You must all be having better weather that we are here in the cold midwest.

Swapped out the humming LW I was using for layout accessories power with the 1044 I got in the package. The LW had a fixed 14 volt setting I was using and it was okay for lights and stuff but was not enough for the smoke units in the log cabin and the saw mill. So I saw the 1044 had a set 16 volt option and that 1044 is like new, even the cord is nice and now the lights are still not getting to much power and the smoke units work great with that 2 extra volts.  On top of that the 1044 is dead quiet.

Morning,

We matched a record low last night, even colder up by the birthday boy Doug. . Sunny but windy and cold.

Katie and the kids spent the night and they just left. Yard is already needing a cutting but everything is wet as can be and ain't drying out with this cold weather. I blasted the Marx 24" bridge that came with the package, fixed up the 145 gateman, (boy it is in nice shape) got the 494 beacon running like new, found a place on the layout for the 252 Crossing Gate and the beacon but not sure yet where to put the gateman. It will be someplace on the kids side. Not sure what I will do with the bridge and I was thinking of painting it to look rusty maybe. The 470 Missile Launching Platform and exploading boxcar cleaned up well. Don't know If I will use it or not?

This week I will start cleaning up the cars. I did see that the Extension Searchlight Car No. 3650  has the dark gray paint that is the harder one to find. Also the Helicopter Launching Car No. 3419 is variation A from 1959 and the helicopter is in perfect condition...:Stick out tongue

Better go got things to get done.

Good evening all,

Happy belated birthday, Doug M.  Cold day at Indy and AJ's team was 19,20, and 23 out of 25 cars and 23 running at end.   Ouch.  Drove like crazy after race to see big screen showing of Wizard of Oz and they were sold out.   Perhaps not the best day in my life.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening all,

Quiet busy day at work.  Nice walk in good weather at noon.  Went to see "Huntsmen: Winter Wars" tonight and came home to watch Grimm.   Finally some good news for the Foyt team as they place one car out of three on the sharp end of the grid with Hawksworth in 4th.   I hope everyone has a good day.

ChiefEagles

Kev will like this.  Was doing errands in the town near by and stopped at JD dealer.  Looked at a new tractor with front bucket.  Probably get one.  Add the new fast hitch.  Maybe a power takeoff tiller.

Have a great weekend.

Chief, Green is good. what size and model are you looking at?? Always good to have a FEL you can use. Maybe you will want a grapple / thumb to. Now you will need to get on the forums at TBN.  Wink

Aloha. Sunny and cool but a great day for a long work with the dog. And its rained so much in May (twice as much as usual, my usually-ratty-looking yard has very tall grass. The youngest had his last band concert of the year last night and the middle boy passed his EMT class. So it's been more than a decent week! Ray, that quinoa is the latest health food thing. It's supposed to be very good for you. Glad the bus turned over, Bob. What an adventure with the digital camera. Nice haul, Kev. Heading up north to find a supposedly-wonderful fish boil at a remote restaurant... hope it's worth the drive.

Thanks kev, it's no fun when it really is Friday the 13th. Or when RT gives it away.

Nice box of toys but be careful RT will have you buying every day.

Kevin from what I can see you do not have a actual set with the 2339 as none of the cars that came with it are in your box. as for set box number it must be a non-catalog set box so there is a chance that you do have a set there beteeen all the items with that. need to find someone with a non-catalog set book

Think you need to resnd the case # as I have not recieved it
