Good evening all,

A good day at work.  Got more done than planned.   Pain two was not there at all today and pain one might be gone tomorrow.   Did get some news today, some of it expected, some not.   The girls' assistant coach is retiring after almost 15 years of service to the team.  Her younger daughter had her senior year this past season so it was not unexpected.  A good friend of mine learned her husband lost his job this week so that was not good either.   Wife and I went to see "Eddie the Eagle" tonight.  Good movie.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello there,

checking in while thinking on goin t bed.

Talked to a couple of people at the home today. They're planning to kick her out on Tuesday. Not as long as I'd hoped but better than tomorrow. She seems better than she was but not back to normal. Maybe this is as good as it gets. I need to look at some other options for keeping up with her. It's running Mrs and I down. She is in to good of shape for nursing care and has to many resources to get assistance with personal care. I'm told that if her money runs out while in personal care I may come home one day and find her waiting on me

Fife. ......you do live in a nice area. Reminds me of Bethel Park, near Pittsburgh, where my cousin lived. Good luck on the sale

88 I've gone to Monroeville fairly regularly until recently. The show really went downhill when they moved to the convention center.  Did you ever go to the Kittanning show?

best move on Prayers for those in need

Hey guys look at these pictures and tell me Jordan is not a MiniMe????
The black and whites are me at the same age as Jordan is now.  Is it me? Or  do you see a carbon copy????
Tomorrow I will pick him up at 9:00am and will have him till Saturday afternoon. We got to get deer corn and stuff to do a oil change on the tractor. I am sure we will have fun. And as far as naps, we will both take them at the same time.   Sleep

Sturgeon-Phish

Good morning from cool (30F) overcast Southern Ohio

Cleaned out the freezer this morning because we're getting 1/2 a beef Saturday. The frozen food is in coolers outside so I'll be in good shape to get the defrosting done.  Meeting with the financial advisor showing them the retirement options we've got, a lot of decisions and I know when to seek advice.

Speaking of advice, I'm not really crazy about the MacBook Pro Laptop.  Or maybe it is just the Mac format, but I'm thinking about a Kindle fire and I do not know anything about them.  I need primarily a word processor, something to handle email and posting pictures here on the forum.  Would a Kindle be the way to go or is there a better option?

Need to start defrosting!

May God bless

Jim

Fife- Must have great curb appeal!

Jim,
I would stear clear of tablets (that is what the Fire is) for what your requirements are. I would look at a ChromeBook if I were you. Or a Windows Laptop with a 15 inch screen.

You'll find working with files to be difficult on a tablet, and quite honestly - this forum is not very 'mobile device' friendly. I don't like browsing the site on either of my Galaxy Tabs, and hate browsing on my phone. And this edit box blows chunks on a full featured browser, can't imagine what it is like on a mobile device!

Just checking in.

Overcast and 32 for today.

Ground is still covered with a little snow but the pavement is clear and dry. No news from the train store, guess I should check on them.

Good morning,

31 degrees heading to 34.   About 2.5" of wet white stuff on the ground today when I got up. Wife skipped work. I did the sidewalk but I am not going to bother with the lane. It will be gone tomorrow.

Phish your right. seems the newest game is car to car shootings. Then the cops have to tie up traffic for hours to pick up shell casings. Tongue Tied

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 29 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to snohizo overnight.  Realtor sign was planted in front yard late afternoon.  Kept tabs this morning, and between 0700-0800 hrs, 4 vehicles slowed down, and 1 stopped.

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Some days almost make it worthwhile to come to work.  This was one of those days.   Pain two was complaining about a change that occurred and made plans on how to cope with it.  Little does that person know that those plans are totally useless and that person will find that out tomorrow.  Could be interesting to see the reaction....heh, heh, heh.   Indoor soccer was called off tonight due to basketball sectional.  Did get my ears lowered.   Wonder if anyone will notice....doubt it.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Holy Mackerel Chief!  Sorry you've got the old P monia again.  Get well real soon, you hear?  What a coincidence!  My brother in Virginia has it too.  He and his wife just got back from a trip to Florida and he went to the hospital for kidney stone problems.  While he was in there they discovered that he had pneumonia and his blood oxygen level was only 83.  He is still there but getting better.

I went out for some Mexican food tonight.  Big mistake!  I feel like I need an alka seltzer real soon.

Thought your comments about doctors with strange sounding names was very funny.  I agree.  What ever happened to Smith and Jones?

later,

Ray

IdeaCool I could fashion together a Pullman style boarding step.  That way I could practice for a possible future tourist railroad gig.  "Welcome aboard".  "Watch your step". "Please keep all arms, legs, and surgically enhanced appendages inside the car at all times..."

Evening all!

Breezy, sunny, and 70 today although it took a while to get there. We are looking at 70's for the next week or so. 10 degrees above normal.

Making more progress on the garage clean out. Found a maple top workbench. Garageworks Gladiator 25 x 72 in adjustable height and adjustable legs. 1.75 I'm thick top. Have it in stock at local Sears and on sale.

Chief - get well!

Phish - good luck

Fife - good luck with the realtors

I have searched high and low, from what I can find they don't make retractable running boards for the Durango. They have them for most trucks and larger SUVs, but I have not seen them for the Durango.

Good afternoon from overcast and cool (mid 30'sF) Southern Ohio

Took some paperwork out to the job fair after helping with the school Mass and giving blood this morning.  My bride wants me to re-do the utility room before I get another job.  I owe this to her as I've been promising to re-do it as soon as I got time.  Shouldn't be too bad, moving some supply and drains but other than that just patch and paint, but these jobs have a way of growing.

Chief- Take care of yourself, it's easier to get back if you don't get down too far.

Banks - Continued prayers for your Mom

Bob- Is the move closer to work?  If I remember you've got quite a drive.

KRM- Why run if you've got nothing to hide or you're not afraid?

Fife- There are some really neat running boards that extend out from under the vehicle when you open the door, then retract when you start the vehicle virtually disappearing.  Pricy but sooo cool.

Later,

May God bless

Jim

Fife - these are what I am looking at

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L2PJ5ZS?refRID=DFMMGBM8ZCRBEGD2672B&ref_=pd_ybh_a_32

I'm not into the tube style. These would look nice with the chrome edge, would compliment the rest of the chrome around the vehicle.

88- She has 1 or 2 picked out (unless a new listing pops up...).  The realtors were really amazed at the train layout, and insisted we leave it up.  I'm already thinking ahead (as you've seen) on a new layout, just need to know what space I'm alotted.  I would like to find a fancy "stirrup" for Wifey, as she sometimes has a hard time getting up into the Durango.  Let me know which way you go (don't like running boards myself).

Mornin' boys.  Very breezy and 51 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Have to work on the area under the sink today.  Meeting with realtor ladies went extremely well, and sign should be in front yard sometime today.  They loved fifedom and everything inside and outside.  Wifey worked very hard to present the house to them, and it was a good dress rehearsal for the weeks/months to come.  It was all upside, until we recognized that youngest princess was having a little hard time with this...

She isn't the only one bud! Going to miss that little slice of heaven in your basement, but can't wait to see what you cook up in the new abode... must have missed it, has Wifey settled on a place?

fifedog

Chief - Get well soon.

Ditto - get some REST (reclinerize) and get better!

fifedog

Banks - Best regards to you right now.

Prayers for you and your Mom Banks! Last time I was at a show in Monroeville (10+ years ago) it wasn't much better than a bag of grits. Smile

Keep getting notes from Matthew's new teacher at daycare that we are to bring in a specific type of pullup for him. Had a 'discussion' with the director this morning and it will be addressed. TheQ and I don't purchase specific anythings for our kids, whatever is on sale or TheQ has a coupon for is what we buy. I understand the teacher may like something, but she can't demand we buy that and supply it. And to keep hounding TheQ about it just gets her in an uproar and then I hear about it... for weeks or months. Nip that bud real quick.

The kiddos are in for a surprise this Friday. We are making a surprise trip to The Burgh' for Mom's 69th birthday (tomorrow, but we can't make it for then), only my little sister knows the plans. Can't wait to see Mom's reaction. I'm sure the 3 rivers will be nearing full crest come 8:00am Saturday morning. Smile

Thinking about installing running boards on The Durango. The kiddos have a hard time climbing in and it will make entering and exiting easier for my folks as well. Found some on the A site for < $250... may even get mud flaps since no one makes the running boards with integrated mud flaps for The Durango.

Overcast @ 21 degrees.

Fresh coating of snow has covered yesterdays freezing rain. Not thick ice but slippry all the same. March is here, none of it will last long.

Walks are done the thin layer of ice will melt off quiclly now.

Raleigh PD shot one yesterday afternoon.  Druggie.  Folks in an uproar.  Would have thought he was some great fellow.  Why did he run when they tried to serve a warrant for drugs?  Gun found next to body.  To hear relatives and friends, uncalled for.

In Chicago the family would say my boy would never do that or carry a gun even if it was in his hand.  Over 100 shootings in the city this year already resulting is death. , twice as many as last year by this time. Wonder if anyone thinks maybe it is because they know the cops can't shoot back anymore. Just a thought?

Good morning, it is bright sun here but only 17 with a daytime max of 34. Snow tonight and tomorrow then 60s next week. I think Doug got the snow yesterday. We got nothing. This time of year that 70 miles can make a diffrence.

Going to GameStop to get a gift certificate for Dan Jr's birthday and pick up a new hair dryer for the wife's birthday. Then I will pick up some Hydraulic oil for the John Deere, engine oil and a filter at Farm & Fleet. By then I will be broke .

Hello all

Finishing up the last shift for the week.

Just about completed the Mauretania model. Looks good and I'm happy w/ it. Going to find a better stand for it than the one that came in the kit. Will look nice along w/ a framed copy of postal envelope that was actually mailed thru the ship.

May be moving again soon. Something I'm working out w/ the trolley/bus group. Will have a better idea in the next few days.

Hello there,

 quick check in.

Rich....Chief  take care of your self

Phish. ...hope you land one of those jobs

Thanks for the prayers for mom. Official diagnosis is minor heart attack. She is rehabbing in the local Presbyterian home. They say she's ready to come home this weekend. I'm lobbying for a longer stay. So much easier knowing she's being looked after.

Opted to skip the Monroeville Greenberg Show. Mainly because I was really disappointed the last time I went

Fell asleep on this last night. Time to get moving

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

A good day at work.  Busy, but pain one left at noon so pain two kept her mouth shut the rest of the day.  Should be caught up by end of day tomorrow.   Got the latest LCCA Lion Roar today.   Weather turns to junk the next few days, but next week should be good.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Another 1500 mile weekend.  Took Friday and Monday off for another trip to Michigan.

I did stop at a hobby shop in Lansing and picked up a bunch of Lionel catalogs.  Didn't see any 'gotta haves'.  There are some neat things, but I'll have to think abit about the price.

The World's Greatest Hobby Show is making a stop in Kansis City this weekend.  Planning on getting there at some point.

All for now.

My new Dr. was booked up [her name is Amhad].  The whole practice was booked up [5 Dr.'s].  Saw a new Dr. at the practice upstairs [still WakeMed Hosptial physicians].  Really nice guy.  Had strong accent from islands.  His name is Urieto.  Text my friend at WakeMed Admin.  Asked her if they ever hired Dr.'s named Smith and Jones anymore.  She sent me a Ha Ha.

Anyway, pneumonia again.  Put me on stronger meds and steriods.  Do breathing treatments.  Hope to have tomorrow afternoon off.
