Been helping a neighbor build a berm and a run-off ditch on his place.

Done on the tractor for today. Hot!!!!!! Takes it's toll on my old body these days.

Got most of the berm built and Jim cut most of the run off ditch on the back side of the berm with the excavator he rented. Glad he goes to work at 12:30. So hot I had to take a shower to cool down.

Prayers for the sick and others in need.

Good afternoon all,

I'm really concerned about Chuck this time.  Sounds like he has a lot on his plate.  I do hope they can help him and I'm continueing my prayers for a better outcome.  Sending prayers and thoughts to his family too.

Had a hard time getting on line today but it turned out to be a dumb mistake.  The router from my provider to my computer was turned off and I didn't know it.  It finally dawned on me to check the light switch in another room that it is connected to.  That was it.  The switch was turned off.  Duh!  Thanks to Don for letting me bend his ear about it.

Our son attending the funeral for my sister arrived in D.C. a little while ago and is waiting for his connecting flight to Norfolk.  It's only 200 miles but his first flight took him all the way from L.A. to D.C.

Having fun on my liquid diet today in preparation for my procedure tomorrow.

later,

Ray

G'day All,

Good news, went in to the pacemaker clinic yesterday. They hooked up the jumper cables put it and me thru some paces and everything came out A-OK. I am free of all restrictions however I will be slow to push myself.

Really enjoyed having the munchkin here friday thru today, although I will have to quit referring to him as the munchkin pretty soon. 10yrs old in sept and he is almost up to my shoulder already. As it is said they do grow up far to quickly.

More prayers forthcoming for all of our friends and families in need.

Later all.

Aloha from a grey and humid Chicago where my team, Paris St. Germain, plays Man U tonight. Too bad I have class and can't attend. I just know it's going to be a great day because I picked up all sorts of free stuff on my walk to work through the city - a coupon for a free lunch, a bag of popcorn and all sorts of weird and wonderful candy bars. Nothing too exciting happened last night. An antique dealer where I consigned some railroadiana called to say she sold some of it, and I caught up on old Top Gear episodes and watched the White Sox beat up on the Red Sox. All in all, a pleasant eve.

Doug, that's good news about your visit.
Continued prayers for Chuck.

Morning all.  Left early for farms down east.  Sweated out tons of water.  App in phone says I walked 12,255 steps.  Mostly with backpack sprayer.  Stiff today.

Dougsnotagrump, good news.  Keep improving.

Ray, so sorry about sister.

Special prayers for Chuck.

Hot and humid here.  Going to try and stay inside today.

Fifey, how did you get it all done and work too? Wink

Have a good one all.

hello hello  hello  hello

kinda empty in here not a lot going on lately been hot so staying in had beginning stages of heat stroke twice back when I lived in FL. just before I moved to VA. and been told once you have had it you need to avoid exstream heat and out side for long periods when its hot so I stay in.

Looking at a place in Ridge Spring, S.C. and it has a garage with a workshop all made out of cinder blocks I do need to cut a door way between the two so don't have to go out to get to the other but it will be nice basically the building is 20' x 20' actually need to check if that wall is actually a load bearing wall as that would even be better. Oh well will see

Prayers still going for Chuck Hope he is improving

I have learned today Chuck "Blueberry Hill" Mathews has passed away from complications. His wife, Paula called at 5:20pm this afternoon with the news.

Chuck was a great friend to me during some hard times in my life and gave me some sound practical advice.  Often he would call me while I was on the road and it was appreciated.

I will miss seeing Cheerios for breakfast post on the forum.

May God bless Chuck and his family during this time.

OTTS Meeting at the Station, Berea, Ohio - Chuck technically was the third OTTS member.

Chuck was sent by the Chief to visit me many years ago to see if I was telling the truth about Rogers Corners, Ohio.

Chuck and I had a great time visiting the Wheeling Toy Museum, Pat's Trains and TK Trains.

Sad day for CTT.  Chuck was here everyday until he got really ill.  Use to talk to him a lot.  He was a solid guy but did not like to go to the Dr.  He almost died on us several years ago with a lung infection.  Waited too late to go to the Dr.  He fought his way back.  Then leg problems.  Use to visit Chuck [well, he'd meet me on the interstate] when I was traveling in the area to Cabela's.  If I remeber right, one time Buckey and Chuck visited me while I was traveling.

I will always have fond memories of "Toots".  That came for a post when he said his trains tooted. I teased him a lot about that one.

Chuck is looking down from heaven at us and smiling.  He will not suffer anymore.  Bet he is up there running trains that toot.

God bless.
