Good evening all,
Busy day at work. Quiet night at home. Did my regular walk at noon. It was a bit cool out there. Daughter is doing well and wife is surviving helping her. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Aloha. Today will be a day to walk about outside during lunch because it is a balmy 20 degrees with sunshine. Nothing exciting to report besides reading some MR and watching Top Gear and a PBS mystery series, Grantchester, last eve. The latter has some nice British Rail train scenes in it.

Good morning all,
Big news here yesterday was the Metrolink wreck at Oxnard, Ca. North of L.A. Engine and four cars were in the push mode with engine in the rear when it hit a truck and trailer being driven or left on the track by a driver who was found one and one half miles away. Sounds like the guy made a right hand turn at the grade crossing onto the track and kept on going until he got stuck. 28 people injured and 4 severely. I think the engineer got the worst of it in the cab (control) car. I have never liked the idea of an engine in the rear although I know they have been doing it for years in Chicago. Maybe the drivers are smarter back there. The cab cars are not heavy enough to knock a car off the track all the time and so they get stuck underneath and lift the rail car off the track. To me, having engine leading the train is a no brainer.
Beautiful day here following the recent rain/snow. Mountains are covered with snow.
later,
Ray

Also agree with Fife “I actually think the cars in the Xfinity series are far better looking than their Cup counterparts. More visually interesting.”Train News:Did some work on the 8701 General and the cars yesterday to get rid of the light seepage through the plastic. Need supplies for the girder bridge project. Needs to wait for funds.Enjoy your day.

Afternoon all. Didn't do much today went to Foodlion they had a couple of items on sale at a very good price so had to snag on it. Won something on a silent bid I guess you could call it at auction house they really didn't have crap up there last night that we cared for other than a antique hall table ( thats what I call it anyway ) and we got it for a song so Donna is happy I could of cared less I bidded on a Marx piece of junk dozier missing tracks and other pieces and unknown name earth scraper which was missing pieces but though on my old toys shelf they would look ok but some one out bid me.
Any way that's it for today. activities.Did take the Norfolk Southern dash 8 apart to figure out why sound was so crappy and seems its the sound board so its going to go back to ERR and see if they can do anything with it seeing its vrs. 1.5 and there now on VRS 4.0 been a while did that the other day think Monday trying to break out of my don't want to do crap mood. been hanging on me way to long I would say close to year. Tomorrow I need to clear a spot out under the train table for the table that was in front of the window so Donna's new table can go there lol. Well guess that's it for now will talk to you all later have a good one.
Yeah Kev funds come in Friday and Monday here for me. so that will be nice

Evening all!
Been AWOL a few days due to being a bit under the weather and fighting off Chucks snow cannon! Was able to contain things to a sleet storm Mon and just a bit of snow today (all melted!). It was entertaining watching the vehicle skating Olympics here. Wish the real Winter Olympics were as entertaining.
They had some truck driver on TV saying how they do a better job of clearing roads in Illinois. Well Duhhhhhhhhhh! Of course they are better at clearing roads up north where it snows 273 days a year. Down here we call snow "a day off".
Hope all are well. Still recovering from whatever I caught. Have a great day tomorrow all!
Regards, Roy
37 degrees and snowing big flakes so fast the street is turning white. Forecast is 8 to 10 inches or just rain.

Good day at work. Played soccer tonight at high school. Did ok defensively, not so hot offensively. Wife is doing ok with grandkids all things considered. Watched last part of Arrow. Weather was nice today, but turns bad tomorrow and the next few days. Ugh. I hope everyone has a good day.
Yeah Roy that's a no brainier lol and for the little they have it down here I think they do pretty good it's the drivers to me but that's cause there not use to driving in it what really use to get me 2 of 3 lanes cleared & salted 2 cars having a race at 15 miles and hour so no one can get by. lol What you going to do. I'm use to it and know how to drive in it with care but still move and not hold up every one else
Any way were just having rain here tonight Joe got buckeye to get the cannon aimed a little north so chief can enjoy it.
Been snowing hard for hours. Everything covered even though just below freezing. A real WET snow. Heavy stuff. Almost rain like. Off to bed after some DVR'd TV shows.
Morning all. Dodged the bullet again. Real heavy snow [weight wise as wet]. Only about 3 to 4 inches. DOT has plowed street so many times its funny. Now if we could get some sun, would dry out streets.
Later.
Mornin' boys. Several more inches of snohizo in the Mid-Atlantic region. When I sit on "the bridge", I try to convince everyone that it's not snow out there, just white sandy beaches and dunes...
KRM - where you see an open gap to bridge, I see a potential river canyon begging to be crossed with a spindley wooden trestle.
Pssssssst! DAng it, burnt my head again....
Good morning.
Just checking in. I read here every day, just not much to tell you lately.
Laz our daughter says she thinks my York pass has arrived in the mail so get ready.

Fife, I have had that same thought, but I have to wait till Jordan gets older. Now, he would just walk in there and trash it. He is 18 months old now and that is right at eye level for him.
We had enough snow to shut down the state of Georgia for three days last night. Or Texas,
Got up at 4:00AM and took the tractor up the lane and back to plow the 4" to 5" of the white stuff that fell just to have the wife call off work. It is light fluffy stuff and was drifting so just as well. Don't do much good to clear the lane if they have not cleared the roads. I got the snow blower out later to open up the path to the shed. Cold and getting colder.
Temps at 15 now and will fall all day to -6 tonight.
Will go to Krogers later as long as wife is home today. That will keep us out of there over the weekend.
Aloha. Three inches overnight and a trace more today but powdery enough just to push away so the sun will melt it on the driveway. Someone got hit by the train in front of us on the way home but our scoot still snuck into our station - then sat there with the poor souls going further for another two hours. Dodged a bullet. Still looks super-cold for the next ten days or so. Daughter will be home tonight to do some wedding stuff. Beyond finding a new closet to hide the wedding dress so the fiance doesn't see it, I hope I have little to do. I think there's a train show nearby on Sat.

Quiet day at work. Good night at home as I built another LEGO building for the layout. Very relaxing evening. Wife comes home tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Buckeye Riveter NICE SHOT CHUCK!!!!!
Glancing shot at Roseyville. He put a hurting on all the rest of the Towns around here. Think we were the only Town in Wake County that did not have power outages. Also, for some reason, we didn't get as much snow as most.
Sleep tight.
Looks like Chuck is making another push for tomorrow. Weather pundits think 0.5-2 inches possible with maybe freezing rain tomorrow night. Rain over weekend and 70 by Tuesday
Have an appt at SS office tomorrow morning. Have to show up in person so I can show them Buckeye is assigned and working (using the term loosely) to support me and that he needs to work harder.
Hello all
Back at work for another week on the mountain. Weather has been nice and warm in the Ol' Pueblo recently (sorry guys), supposedly we are in for some more weather this weekend.
Well the 'B' end bumper got installed last weekend, so that project is complete. Prob end up helping out w/ the electrical now.
Not much auto work this last week except checking in w/ the upholsterer and installing a fuel pump block off plug in the 4 dr.
Got plenty of projects to work on in my spare time this week. Got the parts for the director's AF and the #60 trolley. And have another G-scale loco from my buddy at the trolley barn to tinker with.
Stay warm back east.

I wonder if there is a train show nearby this weekend.
