Morning all.  Sunny and humid.  Mayor stuff all day and tonight.

Firelock, I did Grand Opening at Ashland Bass Pro Shops.  Worked there later.  Fife sent me up town to watch the trains.  Neat place.

Got to call dermatologist about left hand now.  A place she froze on that hand has come back.  Usually results in "cutting".  Now here is one for you.  Sending me to a hematologist this week.  Blood count too high.  May start giving blood once a month to get it down. ?????

Hope all have a great week.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and already 70.  S'posed to heat up this week in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Youngest princess wants to play tennis with Daddy; who might wilt.  Hope everyone had a nice 4th.  Mine was kinda half-and-half.  Got to do the stuff Wifey wanted done, but none of the stuff I wanted to do.  Oh well.  Arthur's outer bands (mainly wind gusts plus white caps) kept the yatchet in the slip until Saturday.  Fifepup loves working the Spirit Cruise down in Baltimore.  He got his "navy" uniform, and I call him "Gopher"; he didn't get it...

Nice to see the 43 in Victory Lane.

Nice to see the O's take the series in Baahstin.  Sorry RockIsland (wherever you are....)

Firelock - Perhaps the next time I get to Ashland, we can watch a few choos at the Henry Clay. Yes

Demay - Good luck with the move.  Perhaps Chuck will be nice and have everything unpacked for you.

Konnichiwa and Ohayo Chuck,

No work today as we had an extended weekend due to the holiday.  I spent the day eating cake and doing some chores around the house.  I mowed the lawn for the last time and power washed the front and back porches.  Our final housing inspection is this Friday.  I think the pirate ship cake turned out pretty well.  The wife took some photos and hopefully I'll be able to post them in the next day or so.  Tomorrow is another packing up day for us; the first shipment a few weeks ago was the majority of our household good that go by ship to the US.  Tomorrow's pack up is things we still needed here and will need as soon as we arrive so they ship this much lighter shipment by air.  It also include my professional gear from my office.

Joe

Lazy day here.  Met new priest at church this morning.  He is likeable and I think we will be good.

Going out to eat tonight with our friend who just returned from vacation trip with his family in Colorado.

Still Hot, got A/C and swamp cooler running plus fans and also may jump in pool.  Edison company will love us.

Morning.  Lazy and did not go to Sunday School.  Did vacuum the house and now cooking squash/zucchini/onions.  Not much happening today.  Still cooler than last week but humidity slipping back up.  Mid 90's by the middle of the week.

Firelock, where in VA?

Dennis, sounds like they sold you a recap.

Yes, the new dryer is run by a squirrel in a cage chasing a nut [Don Baker].

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck (it's good to see you're alright),

We had a somewhat busy Sunday today.  After church and a quick lunch, the wife and I showed her car to some interested buyers.  We leave in eight days so we need to sell the car quickly.  We should hear back from one of the interested parties tomorrow.  I then was back to work painting the living room.  I have only one more section to do but I need to wait until the television gets packed up on Tuesday since it is mounted to the wall.  The youngest child's birthday day is tomorrow and he wanted a pirate ship birthday cake.  I am going to attempt to make him one.  The wife thinks I am nuts because all of our regular kitchen appliances are on a ship to the US.  I borrowed some items from the neighbors and I'm hoping for the best.  A few years ago I tried to make the older son a Lego cake and it did not turn out so well.

Good evening all,

Daughter surprised me by offering to help mulch landscaping in front of house.  We got it done but I was tired.   Sato  starts 4th for AJ tomorrow.  Not sure if I will be posting the next few days as we are on the road for hopefully a nice vacation.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Happy post-Fourth all!

Fireworks are illegal in the county where Lady Firestorm and I live, but the next county over they're OK, so, to please the inner pyromaniac in Lady L and myself I remembered a line from the Prohibition era, "Strike a blow for freedom!", drove over the county line and loaded up with $100 worth.

Ah yes, we had a good time last night.  So did hundreds around us I might add, if the noise was any indication.

And if any of you folks are getting too much rain you can send it here to Virginia, where we live hasn't had a good rainfall in almost three weeks.  The lawn's burnt up and Lady L's magnolia bush looks like it's been hit with a flamethrower.  The 90-degree weather hasn't helped either, either me or the foliage.

I an NOT a summer person.

Afternoon All.

Sounds as if most everyone had a good 4th, even if some are celebrating on the 5th.

Things went well at the museum yesterday, spouses came down and we all had burgers & dogs and all the traditional cookout trimmin's. Even the control system gremlins took the day off. Crowds were very slim, beaches were packed, so the museum closed at 3pm instead of 4. We didn't venture out to see the fireworks last nite, we were both to tired.

Ray, Our daughter had a pair of Cockatiels that the noise didn't bother but they sure could tell when a significant quake was about to happen. They would go absolutely nuts 12 to 24 hrs ahead.

Don, That clothes dryer serves a dual purpose, it also keeps the flys away. Smile, Wink & Grin

As Ray had said it is really getting hot around here, more ways than one. Whistling Thank goodness for AC. Thumbs Up

Today is a kinda kickback and recoop from yesterday, need to recharge the batteries. Shorthanded so will be back at the museum tomorrow.

Later all, forgot what else I wanted to say. Sigh

Had a great 4th!  Kinda quiet but that was OK.  Glad to see everyone else was safe and had a good time.

Sorry to hear about the Chief's clothes dryer, but I dont know if the loaner is going to work very well.

Good morning all,

Had a great 4th of July with entire family.  All went swimming in pool followed by hot dogs, ribs, and all the trimmings.  Watermellon was best I've had this year.

Went for early walk this morning.  Already getting hot heading for 95 or more by this afternoon.

Sister in Jacksonville, North Carolina says no damage from hurricane.

Fireworks are illegal in our town but next town West of us (Azusa) sounded like a war zone last night.  Son and his family brought over their pet cockateal bird so fireworks wouldn't scare him where they live.  Son says he goes ballistic with loud noises like fire truck sirens etc.   Watched the special show for the 4th on TV from Washington.

Have a good week end,

Ray

Hello there,

Quick check in while shopping for rear springs for Mrs' Blazer

Had a very nice 4th. Whole family here for  drum sticks & thighs done in turkey fryer (also tater salad, beans Etc.) at lunch time, Cleanup from that was followed by a long nap. MRS & I made Mountain Pies in Dad's drive way while waiting on the local fireworks to start. (they are illegal here but two people in the area get a permit and do really nice shows) Both kids stopped unexpectedly and whole family enjoyed fireworks.

Hope to catch up on yard work and make some hay as the weather looks good for a few days

best move on.

Prayers for those in need

Happy 4th, all. We spent the day traveling arriving home about 8pm. We logged 1850 miles since June 27, on the Missouri, Kentucky, Michigan triangle. Visited our youngest son and checked our property in Ky, then went up to Mi to take care of some business for mom. We stopped by the Monticello Railway Museum in Illinois on the way home. Discovered that they are only open on weekends. Some other trip. Got the great news from one of my nephews and his wife - their first child was born yesterday - a boy. Guess that makes me a great uncle? The new mini-van logged about 29 mpg on the trip. On the Ky to Mi leg of the trip, it logged 31 MPG with a tailwind. Dodge did a good job on the latest generation. All for now.

Good evening all,

Happy 4th of July to all!  Spent some of the day rearranging the timbers next to us.  Did not realize how much space we were losing.  Did find out where the neighbors went.  He got a job in California and the house is sold already.  Not sure when the new people will move in.   Hope they are good and reasonable people.  Younger daughter and her son were up for a visit.  Set up soccer nets for a brief scrimmage.   Thanks for all the support.  I will relay it to my sister.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Happy 4th of July !!

Nap time.
About 80 right now with bright sun.
An interesting day so far, picked up Lexi and her brother Jordan for the day so their mom can get ready for tomorrow's 1st birthday party for Jordan. First time we have had them both at the same time. He has given up on crawling and is now running around, he kind of just skipped the walking part. So it has been handful today.  It least I can let them run out their energy outside.

Sorry about the bad weather you east coasters.

Good to see Roy out there.

Ray if you where serious or just funnin his name is RIJACK and he post on FB regular but not on here much. Just like Dennis I know he has his reasons but does pop in every so often ( The heart guy)

Happy 4th everyone. Hope you all have a safe one. Me if I can't hear it or as long as I can see it I'm good when I can hear but not see that bothers me. And the idiots that shoot there guns into the sky really bother me duh what goes up must come down when younger we always shot into the ground or a bucket of sand

Enough on that. Not much happening today do need to stain and mount the brackets for the second shelf above the fireplace then next day mount the shelf ( using brick type liquid nails or what ever it is I have to mount the wooden brackets to the side of the fireplace and I believe I have some wood also to mount the back side to the paneling. already got the second level on the train table but still lots to do before I even start putting track on it. like build rock formation going up to it from the lower level. I also need to replace the O-42 curves on the Shelf layout with O-54 so I can use the O-42 on the second level it will give me the opportunity to run my atlas cars that require at least O-54 up on the shelf layout. I plant to run one of my post-war sets on the second level and leaning towards the 2571 with the 736 steam engine. Think it will look real nice up there. Well that's about it for today Talk to you all later

Hope all have plenty of good food and fun today.  Happy 4th to all.

Going to water garden and plants.  Yes, hurricane came by and no rain.  Some down east got too much.   We are lucky compared to them.

Got a big 4th thingy at the Farmers' Market tonight.
