Good MorningUp at funny time of morning...been one of those daysHigh will be 60F today...after we had highs around upper 70's/low80's here...mmmmm...Friday appears that high will only get to 54F...Saturday operating session coming up this weekend...hopefully no Broake and Howe boys show up....If anyone is up at this funny time of morning..have a good'un!!
charliebrown: Question. What do you want to do with your layout? More switching? That type of thing? You may want to go to a point to point type of layout with switching yards at either end......great looking benchwork there!!

Well not much done here today. I played around with a rebuilt F7 that's a mix a Athearn, Proto and God knows what else. It's good mechanically but it has a Bachmann decoder and has less than stellar performance. I my be able to get a DZ125 decoder for it. That would improve it's performance greatly.I got another Athearn F7A shell in the mail today. Union Pacific paint. I put it in the alcohol for a few hours. Most of the paint came off but there's still some patches holding on. I'm leaving it to soak overnight. I'll check it sometime tomorrow. If there's any little spots left I'll scrape them loose with a small screwdriver.Time to call it a night here. See y'all tomorrow.

A couple shots of test layout.
Totally impressed with the Williams SD90. It would pull circles around the Lionel! Turning up the volume on the P.O.T did the trick for the horn and whistle.
Still not happy with layout. Ordered some half curves, straights, and track power lock. Thinking I might route it to the inner circle on the big end. Just need two switches. Still trying to figure out bridge between skinny long sections.
SJ - We had rain all day. I was drenched after I finished install today. Looks like more rain for Thursday and I have a equipment move to do. So looks like I'll get drenched all over again.
Have a great night
Partly sunny and low 70's today.
Does anybody know if there is a 'master index' to the service manual supplements on the Lionel web site? The only way I have been able to find things is with guesses.
All for now.
Good evening all,
It was cloudy in SE Indiana, but the rain stayed away so we could get our game in. We tied 1-1. I played almost all of the first half due to lack of people. Play in local game tomorrow. Work was quiet and busy and productive. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good evening.
Getting cloudy now. Sister said she thought she heard some thunder earlier, so we may see a storm here in a little bit. Plan on adding some more decals to the 109 here soon.
The temp is 71
The 80s are gone for awhile. Lot's of rain in Michigan today but none for us. No news today so I'm just checking in. banilla will be ready...S.J.

Ryan, that is the way Lionel shows it in the 2012 RTR catalog too. Guess it depends on who is in those coaches.
Ryan, Here is one for the cat people like you and RT., Where is the bump on the log???
Have a nice night guys.

Good HOT afternoon
Kev, really glad you like it. It just didnt fit in with my collections and some things just gotta go. It IS a nice set,..... It seemed to run good too. I always prefered the TNT car in front of the coaches...... LOL
Truck is still in the shop till tomorrow. why is it you feel so violated when your with out a vehicle? even though I had NO plans on going any where tonight?
Might have to put the AC in office window tonight just too stuffy to sleep last night. It doesnt help, I have my three footed cat here with me, and he like to walk all over you at night and poke you in the face with his stump. He is such a good boy , and has NOT forgotten where he came from.
gotta go drink my dinner
later
Good afternoon.
Well, I'm done with Physics for the year. Took the second part of my final today. Got some small decals on the 109. Feeling good.
The only thing that's not real good about today is the fact that it's hot and humid. Uncomfortable out now.
Good morning (at least it was when I started typing this). It's 71° with 93% humidity. The high will be 85°.Things got a little last night when the storms started coming through then it calmed down. That is until around 2am when things took a turn for the worse. We had high winds, lots of thunder and nearly continuous lightning. Cable out here was out most of the morning. Power never did go out here. The cable came back on around 10am. The yard is a wreck but I expected nothing less.Looks like today will be a lazy day. I'm still aching from the banging around I took on the tractor yesterday. You'd think Murray could have put some better springs on the seat.
Cool day here and for the next few. Must be an early start to June gloom but it is welcome releif from the heat.
Election in L.A. for Mayor too close to call in the morning paper.
Been running my old MTH proto nothing ATSF Alco PA engines lately with heavy weight cars. Horn is stuck on in the lead A unit and I disconnected it. Don't know what causes it to stick.

lion88roar charliebrown Any thoughts or suggestions on the Williams SD90 I spoke of in my posting? It is brand new along with the track and transformer. It is a z1000. I tried different wires and running it the other direction. My Lionel had no issues with horn sound. The SD90 ran forward and reverse with no problems. sir james I My Williams engines do not have loud horns or bells but they can be heard while pulling a train. I am NOT trying to be a jerk here! There is probably a dial under the engine for the sound (volume). I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think the volume is also impacted by the track voltage, try applying more power and see if it helps.I run 100% Legacy/TMCC so I have full power to the track at all times...

I appreciate the help and would never think of ya being a jerk. We can always miss the obvious at times. This is not one of those times - however I did learn from the Bachmann web site there is a volume dial under the shell. I'm going to check tonight and see if it is there.

Let's take a look. OK the temp is 69 and overcast, this is the third day the guesser's said it would rain. Still waiting.
My Williams engines do not have loud horns or bells but they can be heard while pulling a train. Granny will be doing a 1/2 day watching a grandson. I guess they are getting too big to call it babysitting. Oh yes tis Hump Day already so start preparing for the weekend. Doug we were there, sorry you missed us...S.J.
Aloha from a rainy Chicago. Brutus, what did you need the call FPS for, you could've taken him out! Don't know why most of our troubled folks seem to gravitate to Federal Plaza too. Didn't see the TARDIS last night. Kev, that's quite a project on the river. Love watching the big machines. Congratulations to Pot member and newly-published Author Pat Lawson http://goo.gl/mVvh3

A quick pop in ..
Good morning all.
Crappy weather again today and I get to go do an install and two service calls. So the word for today is WET. Supposed to hit around 77 degrees.
I finished up a test layout last night. Not sure I like it though. I think I will spend some time going back over it and look at possibly adding 1/2 curves. On another note. I finally got the chance to run my new Williams SD90. I really like the way it runs but the horn and bell were super faint. I sent email to Bachman on it. The sound was so low the only way you heard it was to have the engine stopped.
All for now. I'll try to snap a pic of layout tonight and post it.
Have an awesome day
Rained nice and slow most of the night on The North Bluff and is still raining. Don't know how much till I go check the gauge when I leave for work at the dealership later.
Fife, Ryan blessed me with a gracious deal on a DRG&W General set that was less the track and transformer. I had to remove the snow plow because it is so wide it would not go through the Lionel Transfer station I have. It also kissed the 027 manual switches. Not sure what they where thinking when they designed that? Overall I like it a lot and now I have two of the operating horse cars.
Have a good day all.
Here it is with a postwar baggage car and the other horse car added to the consist.
Good Morning

Good morning.
Same story as yesterday. Go in later for a final. However, I have a Jazz Band Concert at one of the other schools. Kind of looking forward to it. After that, just one more performance before graduation.
Mornin' boys. Mornin' Englsih. Muggy and 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Fifepup dealin' with a sore throat (he sounds like Roz from Monsters INC); gonna have to call doc.

Partly sunny today.
Putting together an order of bits & pieces for The Train Tender to spruce up some of my recent finds.
My doctor called today. Says I need to take a stress test. Will probably be next week some time.
jeffrey-wimberly Besides mowing the grass and watching some movies I really didn't do much today. Some of the movies I watched were 'The Silencers', a James Bond spoof with dean Martin, 'Dr Goldfoot and the bikini machine' starring Vincent Price and 'Carry On Spying', a British spy spoof. Tonight I'm watching 'Murderers Row', another Dean Martin James Bond spoof. Tomorrow I'll probably watch 'Dr Goldfoot and the girl bombs', another Vincent Price comedy.

Jeffrey - Those are all great movies that I own as well! I'll bring popcorn and diet Pepsi, let's watch them all! Also how about some Dr. Phibes and I've got some old British railroad comedies you might like too.
Some crazy guy came around to where we were standing outside on break this afternoon and threatened us - my friend Jeff is a smoker so we have to go outside on breaks. Anyway - Jeff called for the guard and we followed the guy around to make sure he wasn't getting a weapon or something. Seems that there are a lot more crazy people wandering around in the city lately - sheesh! He was arrested by FPS. I don't think he was a customer, just wandering around and found our little corner of paradise I guess. I was never scared but I was wondering how late it would make me getting home after being interviewed by the police etc if things did go south. No doubt we could have taken him, but crazy folks don't know when to quit in a fight - I learned that when I was much younger.
Nice chat with the guys tonight. Prayers for those in need including SPRay's family and Kev's grandchild.
I see that Mr. Patrick Lawson has his first novel for sale on Amazon - I will download a copy to my tablet toot-sweet!
