Fife - for Alexis' continued recovery and good luck on vehicle hunting.
anj - those were good cars. Had one as a co car years ago.
Ryan - hang in there!
The rain here is finally over for a few days. Over 6 inches here since Fri night. Before the extra 6 inches we were 8 in over last year. Was pretty cool today 54 on the truck thermometer but to hit 72 tomorrow and some sun!
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy

Good evening all,
It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s. Long day at work, but good evening at home as wife and I started cleaning out attic. Got rid of some stuff and marked some stuff for yard sale. Did read all the posts, but not enough time to digest them all. Kevin, Indycars put on a heck of a show yesterday with a last lap pass for the lead on the last turn. Cannot wait for the 500. Will be a wild one. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

KRMAFRay, looks like you had a great ride over the weekend.
Kev - Yea it's a good 15 minute ride. I remember years ago going with HudsonJohn and our other brother in law Dan when our oldest was around 3? So maybe 1985 +/-. When our ride was over we toured the caboose where moms and dads were taking pics of their youngest sitting up in the cupola. The kids were having a blast.

Sunny and just under 70 today.
The AT&SF operating box car I won on e-bay a while back got here today. I'm pretty happy with it, considering the low price I paid for it.
Anjdevil2 - I did the stress analysis for the wheels on your Reliant. Was waaaay back in the day - I think it was the second project I worked on as an engineer. We designed these wheels for the original K Car. Yours looks like it might be a 2nd generation K car.
All for now.
The temp is 71.
We headed west, picked up my cousin and his wife, then went to Battlecreek Mi. casino. A safe trip with good company but not a good casino day. It was fun anyway. Sounds like Alexis is getting better. good. We had Black Cherry ice cream but there's plenty of banilla...S.J.

blownout cylinder KRM fifedog Wifey and I are in the midst of vehicle shopping. Front runners are the Chevy Traverse (her) and the Dodge Durango (him). Other considerations are Grand Cherokee (too $), Ford Explorer (too boxy), Tahoe (too big & too $) and Suburban (way-way too big). So far have driven the Tahoe, Traverse and Grand Cherokee. The Traverse was by far the best experience. Fife, Check out one of these, Chevy Captiva, the Cobalt of SUVs I have drove some of them and would get one for the wife in a heart beat. Good on gas and a safe little car. JMHO They do look pretty good...do you know of their maintenance history?

BOC No I don't know of their maintenance history but they are a new offering and I thought they are nice. I would go drive one if you are looking for something like that. The nice part of my part time job, I get to drive all kinds of stuff and I did like these.
Rich,
I still want to know how it's possible to find an older car in this part of the country that is that clean. I see people do it form time to time, but I get disastrous results when I try. I'd kill for a first gen Probe half that clean.
Jim
Fife,
Keeping the going for Alexis. One thing to consider about the Explorer is that is one of the models that Ford uses an aluminum hood. That doesn't sound like a problem, but it can become a very big headache when it starts to corrode. I am in that situation right now, and am scraping the $$ for an aftermarket fiberglass hood for the Mustang. I wouldn't avoid the Explorer just for that, but thought it would be worth mentioning. Nobody wants to work on an aluminum hood around here.
If you can get a Hemi in the Durango, go for it.

88 - Who would steal a grill? Start looking in the beds of old beat-up pickup trucks.... We stop them all the time.
sirjames - Alexis will be completely out of her brace in a week, and back to school around Memorial Day. She is home-schooled in the meantime, by way of the lap-top and a head-set.
Hello all
A little more cleanup around the house today. Ended up switching out the dresser w/ one from a guy who is moving out. A little taller, a little longer, and in better condition. And the 'price' was right. Found some old cat toys in the process.
Got the new camera in today. Battery is charged but it needs a memory card as they do not come w/ them. I guess a stop at the store tonight is in order.
Anj - now that looks like a real car. I like it. Ever since about 1990 everything looks like a Honda Accord and a dustbuster on wheels.
I saw some old fishing rods at the antique store/flea market and thought of you guys

Been with my father most of the day. Breakfast at his place then out to the VA center at Fort Polk so I could file for an appointment there. Hopefully I'll be able to enroll there and maybe get something done about this foot of mine. All Medicaid seems to cover is the docs time to scratch his head. No new appointments until sometime in June. Well, it's a start. Then to Wal-Mart to pick up some items. I got two boxes of gauze pad, a couple rolls of tape and a bottle of 91% alcohol for the aforementioned foot. I also got a jar of Black Bean and White Corn salsa to go with a bag of tortilla chips I have. I also made up sixty invitations for a certain persons upcoming wedding. Not mine so don't even start celebrating.
Flooding. Thunder. Small stream flood warning. Its headed north to the lake house now.

Good Morning:
51 and cloudy down the Jersey Shore.
We had a busy weekend. Saturday morning it was rebush a spindle for my son and go over the mower deck on one of his older John Deere's, then install and and level it. I then greased and checked the machine over. 21 years old and still in great shape. Then I took Mom to a First Communion party for my cousin's granddaughter and the main reason is so that she could be with her 89 year old sister, my Aunt Annie. The 2 of them had a great time. Yesterday we had a bridal shower that my wife organized, I helped set up and then helped my nephew Brian cut some trees and general yardwork. Today it is cut, rake, aerate, fertilze and reseed the front lawn. Some of the seed did not take, since the saltwater came up the street and ruined part the lawn during Sandy. Now the lawn has bald spots that look like the top of my head! Then the last Monday night of school until September.
Brutus: Glad that you had a safe trip. Too bad about the meds. Good news about your daughter's choir concert.
Rich: Good luck with your health and the Reliant.
DogDG: Glad that you are feeling better. My roomates at York like to tease each other. Between use we must have sawed up a cord or 2 of wood!
Brent: That is low when they steal from the kids. The bright side is that you may have introduced a young man to the hobby. Hope it works out.
Kev: I do not miss those getting the solar salt for the water conditioner days. I also had a whole house filter. The "City Water" lines were installed about 20 years ago in my part of town along with the sewers. I do not miss the well and septic at all. My well water was very hard for it contained high levels of iron, in fact before it went thru the filtering it was tea colored. I had a mini water treatment plant in my basement to get the color and smell out before it was used. Untreated it smelled like rotten eggs. After treatment it was fine.
Everyone Have a Great Day!
John
Morning all. Turned real warm and breezy. Suppose to be raining.???? Maybe soon. Will make garden grow. It is looking good despite the cooler weather. Going to work in bedroom where layout was and get it ready for ceiling and wall repairs. Town Board tonight.
Chuck, Marty [Ma & Pa Junction] retired. Was suppose to sell to a buddy of mine and a partner. They got ready to take over, walked in building and found inventory sold. $crewed them bad.
Have a great week.
Brent,
I think the same thing happened to a kids team in the Pittsburgh area not that long ago. My solution to these criminals, while not appropriate on this forum, would work great for all sorts of criminals.
Seriously, any idiot that steals from kids deserves to really pay the price. Shame on their local government/city too for dropping the ball.
I slept in.
Brent, good idea. I will have to catch up latter if RIJack does not post his Cliff Notes. A lot to do today. I need to get softener salt. Yesterday I power washed about 200 ponds of Wisconsin sandy soil off the truck so today I have to Finnish cleaning and detailing it. It was a mess up there Thursday and Friday. Cold wet and muddy. They have been having the placed logged and those logging trucks sure had the dirt roads tore up on their land. It was cold too. 29 degrees on Friday morning but on Saturday it was full sun and in the 70s. So we worked inside the cabin the first two days and rebuilt the roads and planted 2,500 trees on Saturday. The 4x4 works great in the truck and it averaged 19.9mpg. Good to know the Yankee weather is keeping you from breaking a sweat Chief. Bob, Got the PM, Thanks. I hope I remember how to reassemble it.
AFRay, looks like you had a great ride over the weekend.
Later gang, have a good day.
