It's been a bad day for me today. This morning I was very tired and cold. I couldn't get warm for anything. I had the heater going full tilt and I right in front of it and still felt like my bones were frozen! I shut everything down around noon and went back to bed. Woke up about 4pm and went down to feed my fathers dogs. Van started right for me and I headed for town. I stopped at the pharmacy and got a new prescription filled. Again the van started right up for me. Went to Wal-Mart to get the second half of my grocery shopping done. Got all the stuff loaded in the van and it flooded out on me! Couldn't get it to start for anything. This was about 6:30pm now. I ran the battery down dead. So I called one of the cart pushers over and asked him to have someone come from the automotive dept with a jump pack to jump it off. Guy shows up about 20-30 minutes later and the first words out of his mouth and audible to many in the immediate vicinity were 'What a' and the third and sixth words I'll let you guess at. They were not words you'd use in polite company. The fourth and fifth words were 'piece of'. Well he's entitled to his opinion but not at my expense. I filed the incident away for future action. So he hooks the jump pack up whilst making more less than stellar remarks. I tried cranking it over but couldn't get the carb to clear. He says the carb is flooded (tell me something I don't know) and the starter was fried. I believe his jump pack was weak. After about three attempts he apparently thought of something more important to do because he pulled a vanishing on me. So I went inside the store to report the incident and called my sister while I was at it. I told her I needed to be picked up and I and my groceries needed a ride home.  She came there with her husband in his big F250 Ford truck. He hooked his jumper cables up, I cranked the vans engine, it turned over seven or eight times nice and fast (nothing wrong with that starter) and fired up. I got home just before 8pm. To say that I'm not enthused with Wal-Mart's automotive department is a massive understatement. I stopped taking any vehicles of mine there many years ago and today I remembered why. I got all my groceries put away. It was cool enough today that nothing thawed. In fact many people had jackets on and this is May?

A little something that reflects my mood, at least it won't get me banned from other places I go to.

Good evening all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana.  Work was quiet but busy today.  Took wife to Panera's and Barnes and Noble tonight.  Reffing 3 U-8 games tomorrow.  Just stand and make sure kids do not kill themselves.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Jeffrey, I grew up on a Southern Diet including a lot of "musical" fruits and vegetables that didn't seem to bother me then but now I am the poster boy for Beano when I eat beans and certain vegetables.  Love hot stuff too but some of it doesn't like me.

Every time I've tried Beano the effect was opposite that which was desired. Last time I took it I could have kept a gas fired furnace in operation.

74 degrees

Another beautiful day. I got the grass cut and trimmed then took my May shower. Although granny is already suggesting I might have to shower again for Memorial Day. That and the eye doctor this morning was my day. And my short nap of course...Banilla will be waiting....S.J.

Jake: Enjoy the concert.

Going to be in it actually. Lord of the Rings, Marching Song, Gettysburg, Olympic Spirit (from 1988), and Wizards of Winter are going to be played.

Good afternoon.

During school, there was a mock accident put on by SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), and the mock trial they had after that was something that apparently left a few kids emotionaly wrung out (myself included a little, I'll admit it). What apparently happened was that one kid decided to mess around with drugs before driving. Had maybe three passengers. Their car went head on into another car. Two people were supposed to have died in it. What got me a little was the thought of some of my friends being in the same situation. As a result, I don't have much energy left. Not doing much through the day today helped.

Apparently that mock accident worked.

One more day of hot weather then suppose to cool off with showers on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Should be good for the fires.

No train running yesterday.  Too hot!

Temp this morning at 10:00AM on bank thermometer was 92 in Glendora.  Didn't feel like it though.

Train meet this week end at TTOS.  Undecided if I will go.

Greetings Y'all From Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,

I am taking a break from some yard work.Bang Head   Did I mention that I h-a-t-e prunning bushes?  The prunning isn't bad, but I hate the cleanup part......crawling around to get the clippings in and under that is not accessible by rake.

On the POT side of things, I wanted to congratulate DougM and wife Kelly on their daughter's graduation from college this weekend.  SJ........that's some good news on the eye exams for you and granny.  My wife and I recently finished up ours, thankfully without much change either  And Rich......this dizzy thingy has been going on way too long, like five weeks!!  Bang HeadAngel  I sure hope the docs fix you up as good as new, and do it quick!!!

I think RT was right when he said January was the busiest month recently for POT posts (1,379 in 31 days).  And Banks was right about December (1,142 posts in 31 days).

Later, gang.

Temp is 66 with bright sun.

We are home from our annual eye doctor visit. Good news, we are A-OK for another year. Doug M. It doesn't seem possible that your daughter is through collage already. Congrats to her and your bank account. Later today when my eyes have adjusted back to normal, grass cutting is on my to do list. ...S.J.

Good morning. It's 42° with 99% humidity. Seems like the weather has forgotten that it's coming on to summer next month. There's a small chance of rain this morning. Otherwise it'll be cloudy with a high of 62°.

I have nothing planned for today. In fact I'm giving serious consideration to going back to bed. I'm just extremely tired for some reason and can hardly keep my eyes open.

Good Morning, Guys!!

TGIF!!

Been an eventful week, with the viewing, funeral and all.

Tuesday was the ENT doc, follow up on Monday.  Afterwards went to look at a new to me vehicle and it followed me home.  1986 Plymouth Reliant SE Coupe 2.5L.  Love it already but the best part is I'm 3rd owner and it only has a CarFax verified 36K miles.  Dad lets me park it in the driveway since it drips no oil!!!

Wednesday was a bad day for me but I had to pull it together for the Mercer County Fireman's Memorial service.  I led the Pledge of Allegiance,  introduced the Star Spangled Banner, rang the Memorial Bell for those who had passed and retired the colors....I was beat....

Yesterday went to fire drill didn't do much, just was nice to be with the guys for a while.

MRI today at 5.....going to register the car and plan to retire the Pulsar.

Need to upgrade the stereo in the Reliant.  I have the deck speakers and head unit.  Need to find and install the 3.5" dash speakers.  Plug and play...love that part.

That's all from dizzy land....check back when I can...and post a pic of the Reliant...

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Jeffrey: I agree with Brent if I ate that also, but besides supplying gas I would clog up the sewer plant!

I guess it depends on what you're used to. I grew up on TexMex cooking. It has no more effect on me than a ham and cheese sandwich has on the average person.

Aloha. 41 and raining here in northeastern Illinois. Temps crashed 40 degrees from Wed. yesterday. Might just hit 50 for the rest of the week - can you believe that? Supposed to be in the 70s. Looks like rain every day too. The greenery just snapped on though - like a switch - especially the dandy-lions. Leaving in a few hours to head out to Ohio for my daughter's graduation from college. Can hardly believe she finished. Will be watching closely for her to actually get the diploma cover in hand.. Smile.  I am coordinating all sorts of relatives, flights, hotel, dinners etc. this weekend. Wish me luck...

Morning.  Out to plant more garden and then mow.  SIL and hubby are going to the lake house so Wifey is going too.  She is finally getting up there to work in her gardens that she has ignored.  Guess I will drive pickup and take some outdoor furniture.  I'll trim cedars that are now drooping down and trying to take my hat off when I mow.  Back tomorrow night or Sunday.

Have a great weekend.

My father and I went to dinner in town at the Los Mayos restaurant. He had enchiladas, beans and rice with sweet tea. I had two tacos, a beef enchilada and chili con queso with a Dr Pepper. Plenty of hot sauce.

If I ate that I would be able to supply enough gas to run a small town for a year! WhistlingLaugh Sounds really good though...

Jack - We had record rainfall for April. We are supposed to be dry the next few days. Wonder what it will be like through the summer. Our water table is still way down.

Chief - They probably smelled the grits cooking and hung up on you and Bob!Big Smile

Jeffrey - Great idea on the snow blower. make sure to post up picks.

I have an install scheduled for this morning but free and clear this afternoon. Maybe I'll get out early again. Hope everyone has an awesome Friday.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Bone Dry Taxachusetts,

It has been mostly precipitation-less (highly technical term) for the past ten days and there is no rain in the forecast until next Wednesday or Thursday.  We are about 4 inches behind year-to-date.  So now there is no morning dew on the lawn either, air is dry.

That has put a crimp in my lawn fertilizing regimen because the Scotts' current suggested application is the combo fertilizer and weed killer (Plus 2).  This one requires application on a wet lawn  (i.e., morning dew or sprinkled) and then no rain or disruption of the pellets sitting on the weed leaves for 36-48 hours so the stuff gets ingested into the weeds.  I may have to use the hose/sprinkler to get the lawn wet and do the lawn in sections.Bang Head

Later, gang.

It is May 2.  We have a winter weather advisory here in western Mo. Surprise

My doctor wanted me to log my blood pressure for a week.  I started doing that yesterday.  Man, I'm not liking the numbers I'm getting!  I don't think the doctor will either.  I see some changes a-comin'.

All for now.

Been a busy day. I put together the rotary snow plow kit. That required quite a bit of cutting and fitting parts. It still needs a few pieces that will have to be made for it. What will the Sundown town council do with a rotary snow blower? They're going to add a bunch of small steel blades to the rotary wheel, enclose the front and add a dump tray and conveyor to the bottom of the enclosure so they can dump in paper by the truckload. A steel duct will channel the clippings into a semi trailer. That's right. They are making the biggest rotary PAPER SHREDDER ever seen in this part of the country. Leave it to a bunch of rednecks!

My father and I went to dinner in town at the Los Mayos restaurant. He had enchiladas, beans and rice with sweet tea. I had two tacos, a beef enchilada and chili con queso with a Dr Pepper. Plenty of hot sauce.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Nice day today. I actually got out of work two hours early. Once I got home I got the lawn mowed which seemed to grow 2 inches over night. I received my second package from Trainworld today. It was my Rolling Rock caboose. Looks real nice. Can't wait to see it on the track.

Speaking of track. I ran out of screws again. I have one section to put a couple braces in then onto legs.

Have a great night all

Evening all!

A long day today. Too many of these in a row. Looking forward to the weekend. Have a lot of projects to do around the house.

submmbob - cool stuff! Adjustable phased array antenna farm. Another way to say what you explained is the spacing of the antennas changes the focal point, antenna pattern (I.e. footprint of the receiving beam width), and focal point.

Supposed to start raining tomorrow night and rain all weekend and much cooler temps. This area in Tennessee is nearly 9 inches ahead of last year on rain.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Regards, Roy

Good Evening:

Wishing Well is painted and Doray is Happy! Her and I had a great day today. After I finished the wishing well we took a drive to pick up some depression glass that she bought an hour away. We came home and she went to the ice creram shop. I repaired a PW 685 Hudson, replaced a truck on an observation car from my son's WW2 Troop Train and serviced the rest of the set. She just got home so we are going to relax with a nice glass of wine and watch some TV.

SJ: We use Windex Outdoor Glass and Patio Cleaner on the windows. Just hook it up to the hose and go. It cleans great and dries streak free.

Blown Out: Good Luck with the Doctor Visits.

Have a Great Evening!
