All I can say today is prayers for those in the path of the tornadoes. OMG such a mess these storms just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Sad

Aloha. Thunderstorms over night sent off to Sir James. Kev, heard you got some pretty big hail in Marseilles. Glad Lexi is on the mend. Nice TARDIS ride last evening. Have a huge meeting here at work today of high-ups with lots that can go wrong - and as 'host', I have to anticipate everything that is supposed to go right Big Smile

Should be another sticky day - love the heat! Especially when i can look forward to a cool basement later.

By the way, forgot to mention. The 109 has been christened as "White 1". Has the crosses, swastikas on its rudder, yellow nose of a Luftwaffe ace and a white 1 beside the cross on the rear half of the fuselage.

Morning all,

More severe storms here in Dallas later today. Angel for those in Moore OK. These big storms are wiping foundations clean. News said Moore has had 3 big tornados since 1999 that followed essentially the same path.

Another busy day today. Worked yesterday until 11:30 pm with a break to grill out. Ugh.

Looking forward to Memorial Day weekend!

Take care all.

Another warm one today with morning and evening storms. No train time last night. Started out the afternoon talking to the inlaws. They live a mile from where the tornado went through OKC. They heard it but house and family are all ok.

Worked on front door some more with what little time I had left in the night. Need to finish trim and door handle. Then it is on to paint and caulk. Oh and attach the new storm door. Headed back to dentist this afternoon - third attempt on filling on front tooth!

I put my train platform build on Ryobi nation for the contest. Tried to post link but it didn't like it. It is through Home Depot. If I get enough votes I coulld win 500 in Ryobi tools. I have had a few comments on it. Mainly wanting to see the trains on it.

Kev The door actually looks pretty good. I think you could trust me on a storm door install!Wink Lexi's cast must weigh as much as she does glad to see she is in good spirits about it.

Good morning. It's 75° with 92% humidity. It'll be cloudy with a small chance of this afternoon. The high will be 90°.

The activity for today will be mowing grass. I had originally had it scheduled on my calendar for Thursday but it looks like there will be rain tomorrow and possibly Thursday so I moved it up to today. Nothing else is planned.

The word for today is tolatsukua. It means 'grasshopper'.

Thanks for the kudos on the Reliant, guys...

I want to get it washed and waxed but it seems to rain every other day......maybe tomorrow I can get that done!!

My contact via web, who owns the 10 second Reliant, assures me that I'm a sway bar and good set of tires away from handling like a Daytona.......Tires will be easy, finding that Daytona Shelby spec sway bar may be a bit more difficult....This thing is so light and should corner real nice...may surprise some ricer dudes here...Laugh

We have a sunny 82 this morning.

I unplugged everything last night expecting storms that didn't come. That's A-OK with me. We just returned from grocery shopping and it feels stuffy today. Although uncomfortable I will take it 24/7 to goosebumps. A good chat with Brutus, Charlie and Mr Murphy last night....S.J.

Cashed it yesterday SJ, Thanks. Wink

Jake, got yours today, thanks.

Mid day, I took MG / Mr. George the cat in for his yearly check up and shots today and I still have the skin on my arms. Surprise

DougM We had no hail on the North Bluff but did get 1.7" of rain last night and there is not a puddle to be seen today. The ground just sucked it up.

Banks, prayers for the boy and his survivors.

The Illinois River will be shut down to barge traffic due to repairs for the Marseille's dam that got hit by loose barges in the flood.  They have used 2,700 Semi loads of gravel to make a coffer dam so repairs can be made to the dam gates.  This will drive up the cost of gas because the barges full of crude oil can not move up stream to the refineries . Sad

Hello all,

Haven't had a chance to catch up.

Sad event at the dirt drags Saturday evening, I've been participating and attending these events well over 40 years and nothing even close.A young boy crashed and died from his injuries. It was very unusual the way he got tossed off the quad and happened to hit a light pole about 15 feet above the ground. Please pray for his family. Both his folks were there.

Real sad news out of Oklahoma also

I have been working to get a blowup repaired since 1:45 AM Monday. Done soon hopefully. Haven't checked the pot since Friday. try to catch up later

Prayers for those in need

Good morning all,

Very bad news from Okaloma yesterday.  PrayersAngelfor all those folks in harms way.  At first they were describing this one as the worst in World history.  Don't know about that but it was bad enough.

Kev, Lexi looks better in the latest picture.  She is so cute.  Hope she heals fast.

Called my sis in North Carolina this morning to wish her a happy birthday.  She is still surviving her cancer and doing well according to the last check up with her oncologist.

Have another sister in Virginia who is not doing as well.  Have not heard from her in a while and I need to talk to her.  She likes to keep things to herself which is not good.

Went to grandson's high school ochestra concert last night.  They played very well and looked sharp in their tuxedos.  Only complaint I had was sitting in a hard folding chair for over two hours.  When I was in HS, we had a real auditorium with theatre type seats.  Guess we were lucky.  Nowadays, they combine gyms or cafeterias with a place for events.  Some times they will use the same venue for all three purposes.

Along those lines, I have been trying to make a donation for over a week to our local school district  which is having their annual fund raising drive.  I have called them twice and left messages to send me something I can use for a receipt but so far no response.  It is impossible to talk to a live person at the district.  All incoming phone calls are automated.  Something is wrong with this picture.

P.S. I just called them again and got the same mindless automated answsering machine with no results.  Maybe it was lunch time and no one is there until later.  Will call back----again!

Cooler weather predicted for the rest of the week starting tomorrow.

The new light rail line heading our way is progessing well.  They just completed another bridge in Arcadia and are working on several others.  The new extension  is 111/2 miles long from Pasadena to Azusa/Glendora.  Looking forward to being able to use it.  Southern California had a great transit system with the Pacific Electric prior to 1960 but they ripped it all out and built freeways.  Now we are putting it all back at many times the original cost.  Duh?

Good afternoon. Not too long back I made a post that regarded politics and that it has no place here and shouldn't be posted here. Yet today there was not one but two political postings found. One here and the other in Elliot's Diner on the Model Railroader forum, both made by the same poster. He knows who he is so I shouldn't have to list his screen name. I zapped the one here but completely missed the other one. One of the posters there reported it and one of the admins put it out of it's misery.

Now please, no more political posts! I like the pot and I'd like to see it continue.

From the forum policies:

- No political discussions or signature messages. We know, railroads are sometimes affected by politics. However, we’ve found that political discussions almost always turn into arguments. We have a common thread of being interested in railroads. Don’t let that common bond be destroyed by political differences.

Hello all

Down at the local coffee shop for a change of pace.

Was down at the university last night and saw that they have at least some of the catenary up for the streetcar project. SPRay, yeah it's funny, we had streetcars too and are now putting them back in.

Anj - nice work and ride. That looks like a real car. I like it. Too many rolling doorstops and 4-wheel dustbusters on the road nowStick out tongue

Fife - nice Generals!

Nothing yet on our incident at work, although I imagine it's coming.

Back to work tomorrow for a few days to work w/ the new operators. Then probably back to NM on the 2nd of next month.

Wife and I also have a good idea on the layout.  I will share later once it firms up.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  Supposed to rain to beat the band next two days.  As long as it is dry on Sunday at 16th and Georgetown in Indy, I do not care about the rest of the week.  Did do some more trimming along tree line bordering neighbor.  Should not have to touch it for a few weeks as I went "thermo-nuclear" on it.  I hope everyone has a good day.  First soccer game at Columbus is supposed to be tomorrow, weather permitting.

Keep on training,

Just ordered a 6660 derrick car over the bay just a few minutes ago. Should be here by Friday or Saturday. Also got some small detail decals on the 109, so I'm rather happy with how today went.

Besides mowing the grass and watching some movies I really didn't do much today. Some of the movies I watched were 'The Silencers', a James Bond spoof with dean Martin, 'Dr Goldfoot and the bikini machine' starring Vincent Price and 'Carry On Spying', a British spy spoof. Tonight I'm watching 'Murderers Row', another Dean Martin James Bond spoof. Tomorrow I'll probably watch 'Dr Goldfoot and the girl bombs', another Vincent Price comedy.

There's a nasty line of storms coming across east Texas and it looks to be painting a bulls-eye on us. I hope it's not as nasty as it looks on the radar.

Well, time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

I need to catch up here.  Been very busy Thumbs Up with the new job.  Saying this one is totally different than my job in the glass industry would be an understatement.  Safe, easy job with great people.Thumbs Up

I also finally obtained an original ZW nameplate to replace the Kraemer repro Ick! than was on one of my ZWs.  The large 275W  adhesive backed nameplate was a tough part to find, and I've been looking for several years.

Jeffrey - Those are all great movies that I own as well!  I'll bring popcorn and diet Pepsi, let's watch them all!  Also how about some Dr. Phibes and I've got some old British railroad comedies you might like too.

Some crazy guy came around to where we were standing outside on break this afternoon and threatened us - my friend Jeff is a smoker so we have to go outside on breaks.  Anyway - Jeff called for the guard and we followed the guy around to make sure he wasn't getting a weapon or something.  Seems that there are a lot more crazy people wandering around in the city lately - sheesh!  He was arrested by FPS.  I don't think he was a customer, just wandering around and found our little corner of paradise I guess.  I was never scared but I was wondering how late it would make me getting home after being interviewed by the police etc if things did go south.  No doubt we could have taken him, but crazy folks don't know when to quit in a fight - I learned that when I was much younger.

Nice chat with the guys tonight.  Prayers for those in need including SPRay's family and Kev's grandchild.
