Well, I got the same information from several forums as well as information that I wasn't looking for specifically. I never knew spiders liked to build webs in those tight little places. But that's what I found. Of course the engine hadn't been run for a couple of years so how could they know it would heat up like death valley in there. But again, thanks for the information.

Jeffrey, glad you got that bone fragment out.  Hope you are better now.

Well, not quite as stiff. It's not fun having a piece of bone caught between two muscles. To me it's rather like someone pressing the edge of a ruler down on my hand. No pain as such as I can't feel pain in my hands and feet, just a feeling of something pushing and pulling constantly. I can feel pressure and that's what it's like I said, something pushing and pulling to the point where it's about to drive you out of your mind.

Went for Dr. appointment this morning.  Says my triglycerides are still too high so he is doubling up on my medication for the same.  Also thought my right lung sounded abnormal near the bottom so is sending me for X ray tomorrow to see what is going on.  However, I feel fine and no problem breathing.  He gave me some nose spray for sinus condition and thought that was what was causing low grade headaches.  Blood oxygen level is being maintained between 92 and 95.  Dr. said that was good.  He said if it gets below 90 you may not be getting oxygen to all parts of the body as needed.

Got a copy of the funeral service for my old train buddy in Anacortes Washington which took place eariler this month.  He passed away on February 6th.  Wish I could have been there for his family but we were not notified.  However it was well attended with 85 people at the reception following the funeral.

Started walking again this afternoon for exercise and it felt good.  Just what I needed.

Jeffrey, glad you got that bone fragment out.  Hope you are better now.

Hope Mrs Chief is doing better.  Assume his honor is OK  with the pneumonia.

Cooking pot roast in crock pot today for fat Tuesday.  Good smells throughout the house today.  Gotta go peel some carrots and potatoes to go with it.

Ash Wednesday tomorrow so will probably get up early and go to the 8:30 mass.  Otherwise we will have to go tomorrow night and I don't want to do that.

Prayers for all our forum folks in need of healing and for those who grieve.

later,

Ray

I think MikeC can chime in on this on....Janet Gutherie had some talent, but not the looks.

Any of Force's kids have all the money and horsepower Dad can provide and this new chick in Funny Car is some looker.  I watch Pro Stock, but I'm gonna start watching Funny Car again.

Look, this is a male driven sport and some hot chicks in fast cars puts butts in seats.  Jack makes another point, how many semi-talented drivers run NASCAR?  If given the opportunity, I'm sure I could do as well, if not better than half those guys....and, yes, I've driven a 600HP NASCAR spec Dodge on a 1.5 mile tri-oval.  My lap times were better every lap, I just couldn't pass my instructor...and would have if I was allowed to.

She does stir the pot, as it were and it makes it more interesting.  And lets not even say anything about the drawing in of some of the female contingent.  And I think NASCAR is rethinking the "spec" car thing next year.  The 2013 NASCAR Fusion is evidence of that.

She may not have the talent but she has the ride.  And that, gentlemen is what matters!

And that, my friends is my $.02!My 2 Cents

........Danica P. -- if she didn't have the looks she wouldn't have the ride, it's that simple.  More than one driver has said that off the record..........

Youse Guyz............ and we care how Danica Patrick drives a race car because...............?  I can handle one more meaningless, mediocre driver in a pack of 40 NASCAR qualifiers as long as that driver can bring something else to the table.  NASCAR needs something to regenerate some interest!!!!

The points calculations, standings, and the "how do I get into the shootout" rules rules are confusing and disappointing.  The cars can't be told apart, save for the colors, numbers, and the sposorship decals.  Not enough emphasis on "wins."  How can a driver win a championship without winning a race?  Let's not get into restictor plates.

The dumbing down of NASCAR.  I maintain that at least Danica Patrick brings controversy, viewership, and sponsorship to the table until NASCAR can liven things up with some actual exciting racing beyond the last 10 laps, not the team trains we see circle the track.

Yes, I agree she doesn't deserve the level of recognition she gets, nor has she shown anything (to me) more than the occasional run at the top 5-10.  But how does that make her any different than at least 40% of the other drivers (and teams) out there?

Hey straight from the secret mission on buckeyes last raid down here the actual photo's of the chiefs box. (he has been putting out phony pictures to throw everyone off. )

Here's the actual pic's from the Yankee invasion

As you can see if you look closely its not actually in his back yard as he says and its actually on track

He had it put on railroad trucks so he could get it hauled off when they came to inspect it. So they couldn't raise his taxes.

I've been busy with the nicer weather that we've had.  Put over 600 miles on the Mustang in the past few week, and 45K is close now.  The good news is that it is getting 25-30 MPG now, even with "spirited" (think Steve McQueenWink ) driving.

JimmyT......somehow I can't picture you chasing black 1968 440 Chargers North of 100 miles per hour and banging up the sides of your (precious) Mustang.  Even if your life depended on it, you wouldn't do that to your car.  Instead, I picture Jed Clampett-like driving, babying the car, but not Steve McQueen.  Smile, Wink & Grin.

How is the snow situation in Door County?  Might head up to Sault St. Marie in early April on the bike, I've only been up there in August in past years.

Kev,

I am with Rich regarding Danica.Wink  Ashley Force is another one.

SJ,

Believe me, I try to keep quiet on the subject.  Getting Probed for $3.99/gal  for 93 octane hurts when you are forced to return to making minimum wage after getting set up by the people that are responsible for the source of the problem.  I'd say more, but what I have to say would get me in much deeper trouble than with a forum.

Finally found another filler neck for the 91 GL that is like new with no rust Thumbs Up, so that means I can proceed with replacing the tank next.

Well, I was right about the bone shard working it's way out of what's left of my ankle. It was the size of a large toenail clipping and razor sharp. It was however rather easy to remove and I'm much more comfortable without it. I put the two GP30's up on several forums sale sites this morning. I hope they can be sent off to a good home soon. Nothing else going on so far.

Fife.........hope your visit is successful, in the uneventful sense. Angel

Chief........just how in the world do you survive when the real Chief of the ranch is feeling under the weather?  Hope she is recovering nicely and is feeling well enough to be blaming you for giving her the crud. Laugh

JoeyD......great idea!!!!!  If you have three layouts going and the wifey takes umbrage at your ever expanding railroad empire, you can always compromise things back to just two. Wink

Banks........we had some derailments over at Grampy's running the trains Saturday night.  I need to just put a dog collar and a dog leash on the two year old granddaughter and order will be restored.  Big Smile  Been running my son's starter set more when the little ones come over to try and preserve my Postwar stuff from further "weathering."  Re gas prices.......don't get me started.  Up here again this past week.  The global news throughout the world is always bad enough to jack the prices at the blink of an eye but never good enough to realize a price cut in the same fashion and timing.  Same with fuel oil.  I just filled up again, took on $750 worth, and the prices were up yet again.......at a time when the major fuel oil companies shoud be dumping inventory for the Spring, Summer, and Fall months when the oil just sits there in their storage tanks with nowhere to go.  Laws of supple and demand, my grits!!!!  That's worse than what I was going to say. Bang HeadWhistling

Just back from the dentist.......looks like I am in for some "deeper" cleaning in a couple of weeks.  But for the time being, it looks like they won't be doing "a KEV" on me any time soon. Stick out tongue  After the perfunctory dentist lecture about where I have been lax and what I need to do going forward, in order to be buried with all of my teeth, I was tempted to point out to her that everyone who works in her office looks like they have radioactive teeth that would glow the whitest white in the dark......without batteries!!!  What's with that?  But you don't needle the dentist.  Sooner or later they have you in their crosshairs. Smile, Wink & Grin

After the dentist I  then scooted off to have my hair (more than one) shortened back to a respectable length.  Got my money's worth on this one, covered the floor.  Problem is, I told the barber to only trim back the grey ones; but apparently she was not listenening.  Whistling

Later, gang.

Jeffery, Did you get that van fixed?   Huh?

Yes I did. The coil down in the manifold had some trash caught up in it and the actuator rod was bent a bit too far. When it tried to work it would snap the choke plate completely shut. Now the farthest it'll close is a quarter inch clearance which seems to be just about right.

Ohayƍ (It is 0127 here),

I am just finishing up some schoolwork and had time for a quick post before getting some sleep.  I took tomorrow off so I can work on my last two school papers.  I have a lot of leave saved up and need to use some of it anyway.

Jack - I need to convince my daughter that she wants a layout under her bed now. Wink

Dennis - I saw the footage of those storms on the news.  Ada is about two hours from where we used to live, and fortunately none of my wife's family lives there.  The folks in OK are pretty used to these storms and rebuild pretty quickly; however, the life lost can never be replaced.  I'll pray for their comfort.

SJ - Thanks for the support against the Rebel Chief

Doug - Those posters would look cool in a train room.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good Morning from the Garden State......

And whilest NC was getting "blizzard" conditions, it has been in the 40's & 50's with sun most of the week.  ALMOST good enough to ride the Harley in....Laugh

Happy B-DayCake Belated Birthday Buckeye!  Amazing story!

Dougnotta - That is a great story and really what this hobby is all about!

Chief - it's nice to know that your Hurricane are coached by 2 former NJ DEVILS!!!!!Devil

Buckeye - The Jackets deserve better, and when Hitch was "fired" that was the downfall.  At least they won't be moving to Canada!

I'll be looking to see if Danica will put butts in the seats...I really don't care what she has accomplished, she's better looking than any of those other "drivers", especially those that drive CHEVYS!!!

Fife - hope you get better soonest!

Job is ok, and still waiting on clutch cable to arrive.  Drove the Daddy Wagon and went through 15 gallons in 2 days....Prices here @ $3.39 and will no cash coming in, I'll stick with driving the Pulsar sans clutch.  It's a challenge, but I can do it.

Jeff - good to see you figured out the choke.  Yes it's heat activated coil spring via crossover exhaust heat in the intake.  adjusting the choke rod usually does the trick.  It's a MoPar thing since the '60's.

Hove a good day guys!

Rich

Good morning all,

Cloudy with a fresh coat of snow that is melting fast. Already 40 degrees.

Long trip yesterday to Door county WI. But the weather was good and for the most part the traffic was fine. Smile  We stopped at a nice winery in Algona WI. and tried some samples. I got the wife two bottles of some fine Dry Cherry wine.

Got to unload the 1946 Jeep A2 frame we picked up off of the trailer today so we can start to strip it down tomorrow so it can be sand blasted.

Pat, I am already sick of Danica. She did not prove herself last year to me so I don’t look for miracles this year.

Brutus. Prayers for you wife’s surgery and you friends battle with the BIG C. Angel  I am with you on the daughters computer. I think they are like the best at picking up every viruses and Trojan out there. Mine destroyed 3 PC before she moved out of the house. All of the web time I guess.

RIJack, SHOPPING DIDO!!!!  Bang Head  Best of wishes for your wife’s birthday today.

Chief, Hope your wife gets better, someone needs to keep you in check.  Whistling

Fifedog whatever health issue it is, I hope all goes well for you. Angel

Blownout, I am like Joe kinda new here, Nice to meet you.

Jeffery, Did you get that van fixed?   Huh?

Later guys, Have a good day,

Kev.

Aloha. Paradise. Grey and snowy/rainy. Sorry for sending it off to Points East. Looks like a day of meetings and an L ride to another campus and back. That's always fun. Prayers for Char and Brutus' friends.  Charlie, I try to squint my eyes driving by the gas stations these days.

Good morning guys.  Yeah Jack, that was an adventure!  But I am glad it is over!  Got more rain last night and supposed to last through the day.  I see Greece is being bailed out again, but they will need another, hope our folks heed the lesson.  More gas price increases are around the corner, argh!

Brutus, will be praying for Char's surgery.  May everything go well.  She has had quite a go of it these past few years.

Joe, they are showing results from quite a storm in Oklahoma.  At least one died, they are still digging through the wreckage.

Got a full day of it ahead, hope it is a good one for each of you.  God bless,

Dennis

Ps: Happy Birthday Pam!
