Here are the new LS&I Ore cars from RMT. Walter Matuch was nice enough to take this project to market for us Michigan guys. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Good evening guys, finished work a bit late and finally home and done with dinner. Heading to bed as we have a journey to Jacksonville, Florida to get our federal finger prints done for the adoptions. This will be the final step for us. After this, the paperwork all goes to China and we wait for our consulate appointment. Anytime after this, they can give us a shout and we can go get our kids!
Traindood, you trying to keep up with Brent on the home repair injuries? That is not a competition I would want to get into. Glad things are progressing, hope to see photos of the final completion when you get 'er done.
Jack, I too have had some long posts disappear into the nether regions. I usually just give up and do a quick post the following day. The software can drive you batty, but I still am greatful to CTT for giving us this forum.
Well, hope each of you has a blessed night.

Traindood: I hope you get the use of your hands back soon. I know what it's like to be without them. I've had only limited use of mine for about seven years now due to nerve damage. Hope you never have to deal with that.

traindood Evenin' fellas and gals. It has been a while since i had the time to post. I have been doing a total renovation on a bungalo that i purchased some time ago. The project took all my effort and energy to complete. It is now 99% finished. Come springtime i will complete the landscaping. For my efforts i have lost 16 lbs. Also i received 22 stitches in my left hand when i fell from a ladder. The right hand looks like i'm wearing a boxing glove since i used it to break the fall. Stitches will come out on thursday. ( taking lessons from Brent are you?) Wifey says i should have fallen on my head, that way i wouldn't have gotten hurt! Swell woman that wife of mine, eh? Two hands out of operation is a bummer. Crazy part of the whole thing is, i was only two feet off the ground! Anyway, i would like to wish all of my "pot" brethren a joyous and Merry Christmas! later.
Traindood its good to hear from you again anyway. Hope you start the new-years out better. At least you didn't do my number I tried to make 2 thumbs out of one on my left hand about 6 or 7 years ago When I still lived in VA.
Well just relaxing tonight. Off Friday but have 4 hrs of OT on Christmas eve then work Christmas and off Tuesday and Wednesday. Think if I do nothing else I need to put a couple sections of straight track up on the shelf layout and see what its going to look like with the PA's/PB's and maybe put a couple of cars behind them also.
have set a set of goals for 2012 already and this is all to get things going in the right direction to sooner or later build a layout in the den here. The shelf layout is just to keep me pacified till that day comes and then the shelf layout will stay as an added bonus to the room.
I do know in this case the floor need to come first but there's a couple of things I need to take care of befor I can do that but its looking like the floor will be done befor the end of 2012 ( including buying the tools to do the floor like a sliding miter saw)
Anyway hope all have a wonderful holiday season and I will be checking in and saying hi all thru it.

He's not a puppy by age but we do regard our home as "Puppy Camp" when he stays with us. It just takes all of us a few nights to get use to the new sounds, smells, and "schedules" before we are all settled in again. When he's at home he has his own "door" to get in and out but when he stays with us their isn't one so we have to train each other to when it's that time.

If you've wondered how much paint I have on hand this will give you a pretty good idea. In this location there are fifty half pint cans of flat and satin latex paint. Most are mis-tints and with the small amount I use in any one project they'll last a long time.
KRM Jack, that sucks that you lost your post. You dog looks funny in the x-mass outfit. Kev

I look even funnier in it!!!
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
KRMRoy, It has been so warm here that my shed has not got below 40 degrees yet so I have not got to test the kick in side of the HVAC project yet but it must be working because without it would be 48 degrees in there or so. I did move the switch inside the box from outside.
Great Kev - you can buy more trains with the LPG savings!
Wow - lots of posts the last few days. Lots of good activity prior to the holidays!
Primarily working from home the next 2 weeks so life is good!

Good Afternoon all,
Jack - There have been several times when I've lost posts and just got frustrated and did not repost.
On the train front received a 787 Log Loader the other day. It is in great shape and works good. Just wait till the room for a layout is found!
Working on the drains for the bath to the bedroom we're adding, just keep it flowing down hill but not too fast.

Good morning all!
Back from a trip to Chicagoland. Doug M and I spoke prior about meeting but he had taken the rest of last week off. We had hoped to get together for lunch (like we did a few years ago) but slogging an hour or more to get downtown for that was not a great idea. Maybe next time Doug! We were there for a performance by our son's HS band and they did great - over 2500 attended the concert and they got a standing ovation. We did all the sights, the Museum of Science and Industry (the U505 exhibit and tour of the U505 is absolutely fantastic and not to be missed!), Macy's (former Marshall Fields), Bloomingdales, Blue Man Group, Michigan Ave, the German ornament market at Daley Plaza, Smith & Wolensky's (STEAKS!), the Cloud Gate ("the bean") at Millenium Park, and a lot of walking/taxi rides. We even got a little snow Sat morning. Thanks for all the recommendations Doug!
Kev - for your daughter. How did the thermostat work?
We got 3/4 inch rain here last night and the next 5-6 days are 50's daytime (partly sunny) and low 40's at night.
Have a great day all! Later...
Hi guys, I have been working in the basement with the second MRC AC sounder that will not do what it should. So now I am two for two that are bad. To bad I already sent one back. They charge you $8.00 shipping and handling to replace them. More than they’re worth as I look at them now. On a good note this winter has been warm. I got filled up last month and this month on LP and the usage last year was 4.45 Gallons of LP a day compared to this years at 2.36 gallons of LP a day for the same time period. Jack, that sucks that you lost your post. You dog looks funny in the x-mass outfit. Chief, Hope you get a big one today, Have a good day guys.

I won’t be around tomorrow, going to Loyola medical center in Maywood with the daughter to see if we can figure something out to help her.
Good late morning. Getting ready to drop the kids off at the sitters as today is the only day the bride is working this week. I am starting to feel a bit punk, think I will take it easy and relax. Not too much to do at work and thankfully, the Christmas shopping is done. I will try to check back later.
God bless, dennis
Good morning. It's 64° and quite wet. The high will be 71°. There's an 80% chance of strong thunderstorms this morning decreasing to 50% this afternoon.Wet and raining here this morning! I woke up to thunder this morning and could hear heavy rain pounding down on the roof. I'm glad the roof had been fixed and covered with an overroof after it got ripped up by Rita in 2005. FEMA paid for it as there was no way I could afford the materials. Back to the present. It's been raining all morning, heavy, light, heavy but never a break with one thunderstorm after another going through. I have a weather radar link on my forum that gives me quick access to the radar map for this area. It shows more fun stuff coming. Well, grin and bear it I guess. I did more work on the Stoney Mountain castings this morning. There was quite a bit of flash on the white pieces that had to ne sanded off. They look much better now. I'm not sure how friendly the resin dust is but I'm not taking chances with it. I'm making sure to vacuum up any and all dust and debris. The castings are mostly car and truck bodies from the 40's and 50's. A bit old for my layout but you work with what you have. Of the car bodies, there's a 1950 Buick Super Sedan, 1947 Buick Roadmaster Sedan, 1950 Buick Roadmaster station wagon, 1950 Chevrolet panel truck, 1951 Nash Ambassador, 1937 Studebaker pickup, cab of a 1948-50 Ford COE truck, the front and cab of a 1950 Chevy truck, front, and cargo box of a 1937 Reo open box truck. There's also some assorted pieces. A steel liquid storage tank (2.5" wide by 1.5" deep), some assorted crates and tires.

Today is a busy day. I have a few errands to run and the usual chores. I will be busy until this afternoon. Then, I can catch a nap. Train room is my goal by this weekend.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Hi GUYZ,
Rainy here today. Maybe some SNO HI O for Christmas? We'll see?
As far as those safety spouts for gas cans. Definitly the worst invention ever, IMO. Everytime I use them gas spurts out all over the place. Hate those things. I just take off cap and use a funnel. Saves all those messy spills.
Stay frosty,

Good morning all,
It is rainy in SE Indiana. Very busy day at work. TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning Guys....
Just got back from alarm sounding in neighboring township....recalled as soon as I put my boots on. Love that....
SJ - VERY nice building....looks very cool!
Jack....151 and I have an infamous past....and, yeah, a flame retardant pour cap is a must!!
Submbob - I understand your sales - I'm of the mind set to sell my Aspen Wagon for $2g and stash the cash. The gauge cluster alone was a grand.....and I have a standing offer on it. Unemployment has run out (there wasn't enough in my fund...so cash is flowing out the door...again). Job hunt continues...
Well. right now it's in the 30's and I didn't freeze getting to the fire house.
As far as the neon goes, its leaking coolant/water I think, from the radiator. Limited funds means we just refill as the trips go on. I replaced the right rear wheel hub bearing so its is much quieter now. Still needs struts in the front yada yada yada....hey whattaya wand for 335,000+ miles...sheeesh....
for our friends and family...and especially to the NYPD officer shot last week and 2 FDNY firefighters in Brooklyn...burned badly and critical.
See ya later!

Howdy guys! DougDG - prayers for your buddy! Frank - prayers for your buddy too! Dennis - prayers for that kid, that's tough. Knew a kid with residuals of surgery and he was fine, but needed a bit more work later on.
We had our Christmas party at work today. One guy brought in little bottles of homemade cinnamon schnapps for everyone - label has a pic of his family on it, very nice. It tastes like Big Red gum, to me Not really into the red hots etc, but it was a very neat gift. We went to Lombardos and I had a good linguine with suasage meal. We played "dirty Santa" and I ended up with two sets of drill/driver bits. People kept stealing the little platter my wife had me bring in as my gift, so she "done good"!
Nice chat with SJ and Charlie tonight. TARDIS is ready and I can make it tonight, so let's get going!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
good evening everyone. Been a long day. I am on call and got called early AM for a emergency case to assist on. The guy who had been on call last night got called in at 0200 and was still going. Needed some help and a grey haired consult as we call it. Sad case, can't elaborate. Then, several other cases to handle and I decided to blow off a meeting. Big part about missing meetings, they usually vote you onto some committee, or to head some department when you are not there.
Doug, not a grump, will certainly pray for your friend from the club. While we can only pray for God's comfort in his losses, you and others who care can certainly encourage him to keep a good control over his diabetes. Many folks who get diabetes don't seem to realize the consequenses for not having it controlled. Besides heart issues, it can affect blood supply to the brain, other organs, etc. Some folks end up with inability to walk, loss of limbs, etc. It can make their lives so difficult, but if they do as they should, the longevity and quality of life can be very reasonable. Will pray for you too friend.
Bob, I really would love to have a two hour visit with our family to your snow covered locale. We had brought the kids to NJ to visit my Dad and got a couple of feet of snow. Down here, we rarely get any, and if we do, it isn't much. Good luck with the sale of the items you are getting rid of. Sad to see it go, but perhaps you can use the space and cash for something that will bring you lots of joy.
Jack, A flame retardant spout? Unfortunately, I guess too many fools have brought the 151 too close to the flames and caused some unwanted ignition. I used to do some cooking with it and it could get some flame for sure. trick is, you don't pour from the bottle onto the flame, you use a small container with the whole amount you will add. I hope your hints were enough and you get what you want. Regarding animals taking dogs, we have had eagles and hawks snatch people's pets from their back yards. Also a lot of bobcat, and other such animals to worry about.
Had a good night with the family. Board games and reading, then we watched some videos from the healing home where the boy we are adopting is. Got to see several shots of him laughing, playing and eating. They also showed a young boy who was brought in in very poor health. He died 36 hours later. For babies with cleft lip/palate, they need special bottles to feed or they will starve. Such things will bring a grown man to tears. Well, I have early morning bible study, so I had better sign off. Pray that each of you and your families have a safe and healthy week ahead.
